Black Friday 2012 |OT| **What do you mean Minimum of 5 at every location?**

These days, doing Black Friday at B&M stores means being in line at 3 am for "minimum" 5 items meaning if you're not one of the first 5 people in line, forget about it.

Fuck that. I do Black Friday exclusively online now.

Like last year 42" 1080p LCD Sharp Aquos for $199.99
Minimum of 5 per store, but most stores had 20+

I remember this one at Best Buy. Had one unfortunate gentlemen's purchase not turn on. I had to express to him, there was literally only 2 choices. He either returned it or sent it out under manufacture's warranty; the later I highly recommended. I kept explaining to him why he simply couldn't exchange for another one, that SKU simply didn't exist in the inventory anymore. It was a $200 42" tv, so of course it was made specifically for Black Friday. At least with repair, he still kept the tv. He ended up returning it.

Hours in line wasted, ouch.

I might go out for a tablet or a new tv.

Walmart is my go to spot because of price matching and I get to sit down the entire time with chairs from their furniture section. 3ds+pspGo+ snacks and just wait it out.

Good god I hated that TV. I had people come ask about it for 2 weeks straight. Our whole staff had canned responses. Come black friday, after working on the floor for so long (reaching 8-12 hours into the shift) I couldn't help but almost laugh at anyone who walked in the doors expecting they could just walk in after the store settled down a bit and buy it. "Are you guys going to get anymore? Can I get a raincheck? Can you price match the 40" Sharp?"

Also, I dealt with a few warranty repairs for that TV. More than likely the TV would have been considered a Junk-out and the only resolution was getting money back. Cost too much to repair and too much to replace. Had quite a few people who were pissed off they couldn't get a 42" replacement, $200 wasn't enough to score another 40"+ tv, best you could find was a decent 32" TV.

I'm hoping for some good deals on 3D Blu Rays, video games (mostly Vita and PS3 games), and external HDD storage. I also may build an HTPC, so I'll see if there is anything good out there for that.

If there is a deal for a $200 42" 1080p tv, I may have to bite on that despite not needing a TV. I can probably sell my 32" for $150, so I figure it would be stupid to not upgrade. I'm moving into a new place in a week, so maybe my roommate will go half-and-half with me on one as well.

Flying home from vacation on Black Friday but if there is something that is a KILLER deal that I can fit in my suitcase I might camp out overnight. If not, then Amazon and Steam will do.

Most stores stopped doing that stupid early bird at the break of dawn bullshit

Most open up on Thanksgiving Day @12AM (Midnight, Friday Morning) that night
Some even earlier @10PM

Sports Authority will be opening at midnight on BF. Last year we opened up 6 or something. I can't remember.

Now I have to convince family to have Thanksgiving a day early so I can get a little sleep.

Freak my life and being underemployed. :(

I want to see a deal on the LOTR Extended Edition blu-ray set.

Also, does anybody think it's too optimistic for there to be deals on Halo 4?

Should Nintendo do stealth colorways for the 3DSXL like they just did for Gilt, may have to jump on it.

But for sure this year is an external USB HDD of at least 1T for cheap, some games and if they sway me, I could get a smaller tablet for fun in addition to blu-rays.

Computer would be nice, but I'd prefer to save up for an MBA since my mom will also be using it (she prefers OS X so that cements it).

Has anybody gotten a good camera deal?

I'm looking to get a good DSLR camera, so hopefully it works out.

Sorry for the late response but I got a 5D Mark II last Black Friday from newegg.com for $2,000, where everywhere else it was still $2,500 for several more months.

I'll be watching newegg like a hawk to see if the Mark III goes on sale. Not sure it can happen now that Canon has a MAP policy.

Was looking for a good deal on monitors need 2 as I am switching to a dual screen set-up, not sure if I'll be able to venture south this year though might have to partake in online deals only

Guys, on BF keep your eyes on Slickdeals.net and LiveHotDeals.com. They're usually on point when deals become available.

Is the deal for a 14 HP Envy Laptop for $500 good? It's on Radioshack's ad.

As a budget laptop it's OK

Don't think you'll be gaming through it

As a personal media player, sure

Wait for Best Buy/amazon/Wal-Mart announcements then compare

has any good deals for resident evil 6 shown up?

Only game related so far is the PS3 Holiday Bundle

Single Games will most likely be next or following week

Toys R' Us, Best Buy, Walmart will show off there goods

I'm taking a guess Resi 6 @$30 with a pre-order or extra dlc from certain B&M store

that would be great and would save me xmas money.

Target will have a 250GB infamous/uncharted ps3 bundle for $199. I'm tempted, but its probably too late for me to get a ps3 now. I'm getting the WiiU and still have 360 games to play.

I hate the trend of stores opening earlier and earlier for Black Friday. It's getting to the point where if you want to shop on Black Friday you have to cut your Thanksgiving dinner short. Or maybe nobody else's Thanksgiving dinner goes from 6pm to midnight.

I eat leftovers

I miss out on Thanksgiving

Well worth it though

Save my family close to 50% off, get at least $3,000-$5,000 worth of items every year

Woah. That's a pretty interesting offer.

Most of the time it's like < 10-25 copies per store

They ran the promotion before, I swear I remember, stock ran out in mere minutes

Found It!:

http://www.examiner.com/article/black-friday-old-navy-s-video-game-deal

2010 Black Friday:

Friday 11/26 Doorbuster Deal - Midnight until they run out

Dance Central (Xbox 360) - Free with any purchase of $25 or more for the first 50 customers

And that is literally it for Old Navy. Good luck if you try to go for this deal.
