Video: Bronies (grown men) invade little girls' section of Toys R Us

But there's so many other places that sell that stuff, why go to a Toys R Us store? It's like going to a chuck e cheese to play your favorite arcade cabinet.

Even just going to a Target would serve all your needs and it wouldn't be nearly as uncomfortable to walk into as a TRU.

You really need to think about where these "uncomfortable" feelings you are getting are coming from. This strikes me as the same kind of insecurities that force males in movie theaters to sit apart from eachother so people don't get the wrong ideas. It's rather immature, while it comes in a guise of maturity.

Fucking weird... to each their own, I suppose.

I feel awkward enough as it is hanging out in the Lego aisle when I get all nostalgic.

People do this?

The pre-internet days when nobody admitted to racing home after school to catch Sailor Moon. Now everyone's embarrassing hobbies are celebrated. I am shocked that so many bronies are adults though.

I admit I liked Sailor Moon as a child. Still nostalgic to watch it on Toonami Aftermath.

This fanbase is weird...reminds me of anime nerds

I don't see it. But I am hurt by that comparison though.

Yep.

Well I hadn't yet identified him as somebody to ignore like I have done for you.

the persecution complex is the worst aspect of the brony community
everyone is so touchy

you chose something obscure to be an outward fan of, and react like you're surprised that people question it? alright

Do Bronies know that real horses exist? Like you can go a farm and pay a couple of bucks to ride an ACTUAL horse. I'm serious, were they just never taught that? It's not some unobtainable fantasy like being a superhero or something. It's actually pretty goddamn mundane. Everybody around here has them. One time I was driving down the road at 6 AM and almost ran my car into a horse that had gotten out it's pin. Horses aren't even really smart or charming, or anything really. They're only interesting because it's acceptable to use them for transportation and they make stupid faces. But it seems like if you liked a cartoon about horses, seeing a real horse would make you lose your mind.

One time a horse bit me. Fuck horses.

I don't get the immature comment at all. Like, is going into a toy store to buy toys for oneself mature?

And I think two males sitting together at a movie theater is different than going into a toy store to buy girls toys, unless you're watching the latest Barbie movie or something. I have no problem going with a couple of buddies to watch the latest superhero movie in a theater. I even go clothes shopping with guy friends at like Zumiez or Tilly's or whatever.

Legos are awesome. One of the things I miss most about my past relationship was building lego sets with my ex girlfriend's son. Don't feel awkward. This, this is different. Nothing against people who like the show, but the bronie culture is one of the most disturbing trends I've seen in just about ever.

Kinda funny the comments on the youtube page have gone from trashing the bronies to trashing neogaf lol.

No, going into a toy store to buy MLP toys is hardly mature as a grown man. I am referring to you saying that there is something wrong with buying videogames at a toy store. Like you would have to be ashamed to do something like that. Just strikes me as silly. Is someone going to follow you around the store giggling at you or something?

The movie theater example was just an example of how people (sometimes irrationally) let what society thinks of us dictate our decisions. And yeah, I wouldn't be caught dead in the section of the store in the OP's vid.

Okay guys, be honest, what do you think is worse? Anime fans or bronies?

There's many different flavors of anime fans, ranging from batshit insane to slightly eccentric.

Bronies are all one the crazy side of the spectrum. Socially inept, awkward as fuck man-children. I genuinely wonder what will become of them when MLP fades from existence.

The fuck is wrong with ya'll? These dudes are just living their lives and have gained friendship with each other thanks to My Little Pony. Why is that a big deal? Why should anyone be mocked for a hobby that's harmless I'm sure some of you are going to act the same way come Sunday when the Wii U is released. But that's different because it's you and not them, right? You'd think people posting on an internet message board about fucking video games and other "geeky" topics would have a little more respect to those that get ridiculed for hobbies and personal likes that aren't necessarily popular with the mainstream and get made fun of constantly. Christ, this boils my blood. Ya'll should know better.

Then again, I don't even know why I'm surprised. It happens in Console Wars, DC vs Marvel, Star Wars vs Star Trek, ect... Now, it's happening with these bronies. "Geeky" people are always looking to put another group down to look superior. Fucking dumb.

I'm sure you're just a living, breathing Adonis, aren't you?

Nerds are a catty, cannibalistic bunch.

Well, this thread ended up being pretty amusing. Such consistency when it comes to this topic and thread quality. Bless.

them complaining about the toys being for little girls was pretty fucking hilarious

other than that whatevs, they're enjoying themselves

I don't really get it either though.

I've asked the fanbase if it is a bit like say, Adventure Time, or Spongebob Squarepants, ... cartoons aimed at kids but that obviously and intentionally have a level of adult humor in them. But apparently it's not. So all you're left with is, at best, a well written kids show.

There's nothing wrong with liking kids shows. But that it is specifically My Little Ponies that explodes in popularity, and that it is mainly by adult males, is really....well, peculiar. It implies that there is indeed a certain quality to the show that attracts this demographic, but I still don't know what that quality might be.

What's honestly so different about it? You say you liked playing with Legos (a toy) so what's wrong with them playing with MLP toys? If you are seriously disturbed by nothing more than the toys people play with I'd say you have a problem. Why do you care?

Adventure Time is certainly not aimed for kids. It's the same with Regular Show or The Amazing World of Gumball. Sure kids could sit and watch and maybe get a kick off of it but they certainly don't seem like they are aimed for kids.

Nobody sells Tom Selleck toys anymore. You can find a few Magnum PI toys on eBay, but that's it. It's really sad that My Little Pony is more popular among adult men than Tom Selleck.

While this isn't the only thing I take issue with, I think some of you need to abandon your ideals of whats for one gender but isn't for the other. It's time to abandon that idea. MLP can be for anyone. Barbie can be for anyone. Monster Trucks and GI Joes can be for anyone.

Mustache thing is weird.

I like the depth it provides.

Tom Selleck isn't even that good of an actor and Hawaii Five-O was a better show.

I wonder too about the sincerity of the brony fans. Surely these guys can't be completely serious, and there must be some level of irony or something to it. Like, there must be some level of ridicule towards mass consumerism that they are taking part in. Anyway, there's a guy in one of my computer science classes that is a brony. The first day of class he was drawing those ponies all over his notebook. I've talked to him a bit and he seems otherwise normal, if not a little socially awkward. He definitely looks like what you would expect a grown-up man who watches a kid's cartoon would look like - bizarre little mustache, consistently wet hair.

Andrew WK is a brony and he's chimed in on haters before.. check this out, epic inception music in play:

Andrew wk - epic speech about bronies
This is pretty awesome. The whole idea of gendering toys is dumb.

Or, you know, they could just really like the show.

Wow, are flip-flops something people can't wear nowadays without ridicule? It's hard to keep track of what people are hating on nowadays lol I hate wearing them, but why should anyone care if someone else does?
