Pretty sure Hitokage used to come down hard on people making fun of Pony-GAF.
can I be real? I fuck with MLP to a degree.
I think GAF user Novid put it best in his rants when he said that people like MLP because of a shortage of good animation currently.
The issue is that animation is viewed as being for kids (in the US), and there's not any actual ones for adults (good ones, not talking about Family Guy) out there, leading to adults who want animation having to go to ones for children and becoming pedophiles.
I think the best use of Flash would be something like Superjail. MLP looks like any other cheap tweened cartoon. (bad)
Did they just discover the Brony gene or something that might redeem your statement?
Yeah it's not like there's been great recent cartoons like Flapjack, Chowder, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Scooby Doo Mystery Inc., Gravity Falls, etc.

Bobs Burgers!
Look at that Bleach filler level camera work.actually ankama make the best use of flash by a long shot with wakfu
it has more detail than you would expect from the medium, and the movie they are doing will probably be the highest watermark of the program
my little pony animation isnt bad but its not in any way impressive
But those are intended for children. If you're not a child and you're watching those, you are a pedophile.
It's simple logic, really.
haha ouch, very accurate though.Pathetic, socially awkward, seldom bathing basement virgins who have completely given up on life and any semblance of adulthood or even humanity in order to immerse in and identify as part of a sexualized magic little girl-horse fandom.

My Little Pony and all characters including his canon is owned by Hasbro, except my oc
Chapter 1:
Young, barely eighteen years old
Thank god someone translated that for me. A whole sub-verse almost lost to the perils of foreign language. I put off brushing my teeth for that story. Think I might just roll into bed and roll and coo in excitement for Chapter 2.

To be fair, if the alternatives are Family Guy and Amercan Dad, I'd watch MLP too.

Hey! American Dad is legitimately good!

Not sure if joking or a pedophile.

all the BEST animation is for everybody to enjoy no matter your age. Studio Ghibli, Pixar, classic Disney, etc.
"All ages" is a cover up name for "for children". Because children can (are allowed) to enjoy it, the limits of being "appropriate" are still applied.
But that's an actual opinion for a serious topic.
something something bronies are scum something something adventure time sucks
Not sure if joking or a pedophile.
The talking dog just does it for me.
Edit : Fuck, that's the other just as terrible show. Guess a talking fish isn't that bad either.
Something targeted directly to a demographic will resonate better than something that has to appeal across multiple ones.
I wish there was some actual "for adults", children not allowed things in the animation media coming from the US, that were actually good/not a sitcom or even not a comedy.
But then again, the predisposition towards comedy is a separate entire topic in critiquing the overall view society has towards animation.
I think this could use an actual topic to itself.
Adult Swim animated shows, Venture Bros and Black Dynamite.I wish there was some actual "for adults", children not allowed things in the animation media coming from the US, that were actually good/not a sitcom or even not a comedy.

animation is just another medium used to tell a story, thats it.
you can do so many thing in animation that you cant in other mediums.
people who write off animation as 'kids stuff' are missing out on some fantastic stories.
Oops, missed the part about not being comedy. Need to open my eyes, derp. How are those not comedy? In fact, Black Dynamite tried to lure me in with the promise of well done action, but spent the majority of every episode on commentary.

Where's the Avatar/Batman/Thundercats show that doesn't have all the traditional censorship cliches like hit flashes and knife outlines, robot enemies and lack of injury/death consequence to good guys?
And the people who write it off as kids stuff are the executives funding (and not funding) the shows and allowing them on their networks.
no, im pretty sure it implies that theyre not offensively childish and that its genuinely enjoyable for people of all ages

Seriously? I think this is pretty clearly wrong. Just look at the stated aims of the development of My Little Pony.My Little Pony is a franchise... that doesn't do anything to be different from other franchises aimed at little girls
Laruen Faust said:Shows based on girls’ toys always left a bad taste in my mouth, even when I was a child. They did not reflect the way I played with my toys. I assigned my ponies and my Strawberry Shortcake dolls distinctive personalities and sent them on epic adventures to save the world. On TV, though, I couldn’t tell one girl character from another and they just had endless tea parties, giggled over nothing and defeated villains by either sharing with them or crying–which miraculously inspired the villain to turn nice. Even to my 7-year-old self, these shows made no sense and couldn’t keep my interest. No wonder the boys at school laughed at my Rainbow Unicorn Trapper Keeper.
From what I’ve seen since I’ve grown up, little has changed. To look at the quality of most girls’ cartoons, it would seem that not one artist really cared about them. Not one designer, not one background painter, not one animator. Some of the more well-meaning, more expensive animated productions for girl audiences may look better, but the female characters have been so homogenized with old-fashioned “niceness” that they have no flaws and are unrelatable. They are so pretty, polite and perfect; there is no legitimate conflict and nothing exciting ever happens. In short, animated shows for little girls come across as boring. Stupid. Lame.
This perception, more than anything, is what I am trying to change with My Little Pony. (source)
The ones that aren't weird are invisible. They generally don't get threads dedicated to their actions on GAF.there aren't many examples of people who like it that aren't weird, awkward socially or fall under the term "loser".
