ok i got a new video, which i didnt even know happened.

this internet cartoon maker named Hotdiggitydemon has gotten pretty popular for his MLP parody series, and he recently did a panel at a Brony convention with fellow internet cartoon maker Egoraptor, the dude who does the Awesome video game parodies and Sequelitis.

i watched some of it, its pretty bad.

Jesus. That Max guy thinks he's the shit... what an asshat. I hate when douche-bag "internet celebs" get a cult following and they defend their obnoxiousness.

*I like him fucking w/ the bronies though...*

i was just thinking about something.

theres been some people that have been really depressed, and this show helps them a lot.

ive heard some stories of people just being at rock bottom, struggling hard with depression, and MLP has helped them cope.

i just realized that most people dont really know about this part of the fandom.

it really is just an adorable show, and it does cheer me up.

it has brought a lot of people together, without the show i wouldnt really have anyone to talk to. Ponygaf has been there for me numerous times.

thought i would just be honest for a moment amidst all the chaos.

The title of the first thread was an evolution from a Miley Cyrus thread called "this thread is pretty creepy now" or something along those lines.

I think it was "Miley Cyrus doesnt look so bad now" or something like that. And then a mod changed it to "this thread is pretty creepy now". OG creepy gaf!

I feel this way about Dragonball Z.

When I still watched tv I would tune in to preschool programming and leave it on in the morning. If I believed in the pseudo-scientific, I'd say it gave me ASMR. I always chalked it up to being a manchild though. I've never heard of someone else doing this, so I assume the Brony phenomenon is a similar thing.

that asmr thing sounds strange. i like the characters and the songs and the story of the show. there needs to be some substance to it.

Vice.com said:
You’ll want to watch GentleWhispering’s other videos, and hunt around for the hundreds of other ASMR videos floating around the internet: pretty young women talking softly and pretending to be travel agents; a pair of hands stroking and crinkling plastic bags in almost disturbingly sensual ways; another pair of hands opening a box of Legos; a 12-minute long pretend-eye exam monologue with no video.

It's less the show, I suppose, than the community. Since it started airing, I've lived in three different cities for pretty short time periods, entered and dropped out of grad school, lost several family members, and had a pretty serious injury, extended hospital stay, and an even longer time period when I couldn't get out of the house thanks to my health. With all the moving around and health problems, I haven't had much of an opportunity to form meaningful real-life relationships, but PonyGAF's been with me throughout all that shit, helped keep me sane. Online relationships might not be quite as meaningful as their real life counterparts, but at least they're not very dependent on physical proximity and health.

Kind of reminds me of how I felt about Super Mario Galaxy, especially Rosalina's story, which can still easily make me well up.

Made around the first time Opiate laid the smackdown on the thread. A lot of the decisions CreepyGAF made were in response to Opiate, come to think of it. Me and a few others weren't bothered by it (some of us actually agreed with him), but others didn't.
I can't believe that thing is still going.
