Hello There, Racists!

Twitter isnt private though, its designed to be public and they know/want as many people as possible read their messages. (The point of twitter)

He wishes death upon president and his family because he is black
He asks why people want "nig 4 prez"?
He implies Whitehouse is not meant for black people
He endorses slavery. (Given his disdain for blacks, one can assume this slavery will be enforced on blacks and other ethnic minorities)
He espouses male chauvinism.

He gets fired.

He is in disbelief that people think he is a racist.

So much for critical thinking and making connection. Looks like common sense and education are lacking severely here.

I think that is the type of thinking that gets these young adults and teenagers to make these types of racist comments.

"Fuck that N Word president and those n words that supported him, but I'm not racist though!"

Give me a break
That's a lame ass joke. I get what you're saying though and I agree.

The 4chon people are trying to make a list of..... anti-white people?

Oh... ok....

edit: looks like some bizarro offshoot of 4chan

They seem to be offshoots of its r9k board. If so, then you have a collective of douchebags higher that all of its normal random board posters.

he got fired from banana republic . Seriously, I don't see that end of world. What are the chances he will learn from his mistake?

0. If you look at the burn in hell tweet he made some white power dude is rushing to his defense.

Think about what some silly hypothetical? Or the false equivalencies?

The false equivalency between things that feel scary and things that feel like a good ol' dose of medicine? Or is it "things that my social circle would not be OK with" and "things my social circle would be OK with"?

What's false about the equivalency.

The real problem will be if people are NOT fired for making such statements. Stuff like this can not be glossed over as kids being kids.

Well theres that...

then theres this thread with people saying it should be glossed over as kids being kids.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

He's not even a kid though, he's 20.

Hell, I'm pretty sure a good deal of them were over 18, not that it matters though.

Why is it so far everyone of those twitter links I have clicked on has included tweets about "FUCK YEA PLAYING CODBLOPS2!!"

Unless someone directly reply to his tweet with a link of this site ... I really doubt

Just telling that he is indeed a racist didn't worked very much

Anyone ?

It does seem to me that this isn't about rendering a service, or making the world better. Instead, it is about petty vengeance and self-righteousness.

I have thought for a long time that this search engine poisoning will grow increasingly out of control, and it will eventually have increasingly dire consequences.

It could be used in another way. What's to stop some of these people to take individuals they don't like, start a blog while using something like TOR, and ruining their reputation with horrible allegations that cannot be taken down no matter what, cannot be traced back to their original perpetrator, and could show on the first page of major search engines for a good chunk of the rest of their lives? Even doing it to all members of their family? I am sure that something equally nasty will happen to some of the Jezebel people.

The bottom line is that vigilantism and public shaming is never a good idea, because it can very easily be abused, and ultimately all that it does is cause escalation. We will also have some questions to ask ourselves as a society on how easy the Internet makes it to publicly shame someone or assassinate someone's character for any reason. I cannot foresee such a free-for-all environment continue perpetually, ultimately the law will catch up, because at some point there will be so much savagery and viciousness that it won't be sustainable.

Doug Smith getting fired made my night.

Maybe the next time he decides to be a racist toolbag, he won't do it where anyone who ever wanted to see it could do so.

I'm all for people posting hurtful, backwards nonsense on the internet being called out and held accountable in the real world.

It would be trivial to manipulate this site to frame someone you don't like..

That would only work if the person reading the fake didn't confront the framed person about it.
I could produce thousands of older, cached statements from myself suggesting the opposite, and probably prove it wasn't me to boot.

Yeah, definitely something to rely on, right?. Old posts of yourself where you're not being a racist, thus proving it couldn't be you, seen by the three people who read your personal blog where you try to protest things after you've been fired. Surely the jurors will give these documents a thorough and fair examination.

Be realistic, this isn't you in a court of law dramatically cross-examining a witness. You're just one out of a hundred people being pilloried on a website that most people will read, form a judgment immediately, and move on. No one really gives a fuck about your strenuous protestations of innocence, even if they're true.

Imagine if you're accused of rape. Congratulations, you're now a rapist. Oh, you were found innocent? A handful of people read that small blurb in the newspaper; but everyone saw your face on the front page the first time. Even if they all read it, you're still a rapist; who has time to figure out if you were actually innocent? There's no smoke without a fire, after all.

Court of public opinion, truly the most reliable one.

Just curious.... what happens if one of these kids gets violently beaten because of their tweets? Still fair game? E- justice just doing its thing?

Do the tweets not already exist before they get aggregated? If someone was to find a racist website on Google, and the owner of that website gets beaten up, is Sergey Brin to be held responsible?

Do you not believe that this Tumblr exposes these posts on a higher leve? I know you are not advocating violence on teenagers.

Culpability starts and ends with the aggressor. This Tumblr page is just the messenger. But yes, it does expose it on a higher level, just like Google exposes websites that match your search term at a higher level. It's a good thing this exposes these people, every poster who now has to face consequences for their words is learning the lesson that their words were unacceptable and anti-social.

We are essentially herd animals, when a member of a herd does something that is deemed inappropriate by the herd, the herd turns their backs, and the ostracized attempts to rejoin the herd by making amends since its chances of survival are greatly increased by staying with the herd. In this case, it would be an apology and admission that they were being racist. Nature has given us the tools to conduct a society, we just have to use them effectively. Doing nothing would be the same as ignoring gangrenous limb, and we all know that won't ever turn out well.
