Well if they're going to make the combat like GoW I can see them liking it. From what I've heard the only reason they don't like MH is their combat system.

Also probably because it'll be much easier.

im pretty sure the psp games had online in them. i could be wrong since i never used it

with a "workaround" yes, called adhoc Party for the Ps3

but there is also a game called "Monster Hunter Frontier Online" which is a MMORPG

also the Wii version had an online mode

Well I doubt it will be anywhere near as fun as actual monster hunter, it is cool seeing double fine making radically different games all the time.

I was going to make that joke.

Spoilers: they will consider the DF version smartly "streamlined".
What if it... *is*... smartly streamlined? Plenty of people have voiced opinions that the series looks interesting on paper but is off-putting to play, so if Bradley thinks he can crack that nut (while still retaining the balance/risk/reward) then I'd love to see him try it

I do kind of wish the visual style weren't as directly reminiscent of Monster Hunter though. They've got great artists, I'd like to see them put their own flavor on it

Brazen could be good, but nobody has managed to make a good Monster Hunter clone yet and plenty have tried. What's most interesting about this is that Brad Muir seems to be a MH fan. He needs to get on GB to defend the series' honour.

Brad Muir was also crazy about Dark Souls, right? Is there anything not awesome about that guy?

The first damn PS2 game had online, you johnny come lately MH fans! Where's my cane...?

As a fan of trenched (wish playing solo was better) and a hater of the psp my games I've played ill give this a shot.

Just hope the solo experience is good.

Patrick would have been my choice.

But any of the main 5 over Alex, really.

Patrick couldn't do it because of his series on the games could give off the sense of impropriety.

The others have a personal relationship with Gary Whitta, who worked on the game. Really, Alex was almost the only choice.

But still, they have a personal relationship with Drake etc.

Doesn't stop them reviewing their games. Alex probably did it because there were lots of other games coming out, not because of Whitta.

This is a very good point, actually.

I think it's a shame Alex wrote TWD review, I'd much rather have read someone else's thoughts on it. Guess we have the Bombcast for that.

Honestly I feel like you can say that for most of the reviews Alex does but he is almost never on the bombcast.

Then again I feel like reviews really aren't a focus at Giantbomb anymore.

I agree, usually I don't bother reading them unless it's a game I think they'll say something interesting about, like TWD might have been.

Reviews are just above the wiki in things I don't care about on GB :P

Oh I fully suspect that people who have played the game to try and tell him how to play the game "properly". And then they will get mad because he isn't playing it right.

Sadly, it is inevitable.

Ugh, was just reading Kotaku's really good compilation of yesterday's #1reasonwhy tweets and what do I see half way though? Leigh Alexander taking the opportunity to co-opt the discussion into a multi-tweet rant about her treatment following that Bombcast.

Apparently, if she were a guy her performance would have been "badass, cool and hilarious" instead of "a disrespectful, loudmouthed bitch".

A lot of the vitriol directed towards her was disgusting and the absolute worst of the GB community, but how can she really think a guy doing the same thing would be well received?

Couldn't even get thru that sloshed embarassment.

She was bad on the bombcast twice because she is annoying, loves attention and disruptive. She's in idiot for still thinking all the 'hate' she got was because she's female. Delusional woman. I hope they never have her on again.

It doesn't help that outside of Alex there really aren't many games that are reviewed on time or at all.

Sometimes you get the feeling also that they just dump some of the games off to Alex because of personal preference.

Its odd that Jeff gave so much time and focus in the 007 Legends quick lock and so on only for Alex to have the review.

Her Bombcast appearances are the only thing I know about her but even then she was so bad. She had a "you're with me or against me" attitude for every topic she spoke about and was determined to have some sort of conflict with anyone else in the room.

This would be easier to believe if people weren't beating the same dead horse years after the fact. A guest was annoying, get over it.

The fact that she apologized for her drunkenness on her blog didn't stop the GiantBomb "community" from harassing her - just think back to the chat as well as the comments on her blog. And apparently this appearance three years ago cut some people here so deep that they continue to bring it up constantly (past GB threads, E3 thread, every GB chat).

The present GB crew also acted pretty questionable towards her, in such a way they never ever again discussed this event: I see a double-standard compared to other, male, obnoxious drunks present on podcasts. I didn't see Rorie being shunned after his strange appearance on the Octoberkast, or Dyack never discussed again. Other obnoxious drunks were made fun of openly, and not only ridiculed behind their backs.

Plenty of the hate she got was geared towards her gender. Why the hell is only she constantly brought up, mainly by people that don't know any of her other work?

Leigh Alexander defended her position of thinking that "Nazis are objectively sexy".

No she didn't, and this isn't what was meant. You are deliberately misinterpreting a drunken comment.

Someone drunk was obnoxious and apologized for the fact. We can never let this go!

I'd demand my money back if it were this Drake.

I ain't them. Now that that lil fact has been cleared up, Rorie takes mad shit for his wierdness (how many times do they mock him for puppies?), and Dyack is treated with the same sad resignation that everyone who destroys their lives gets "It ain't worth it."

So which is it, me, some socially-inept boardwarriors on another forum, Matt Rorie, or the GB crew that is responsible for chauvinism again? Who is responsible for that embarrassment? Who is at fault for not cottoning to her behavior then and now?

You forgot the part where you hit "post reply" and then wrote that out.

I wish this would stop coming up, I see the same arguments that happened back then now. The issue with it now is that it comes back to how she was treated, which was horrible and wrong, but in doing so forgetting why she got the treatment in the first place.

If you didn't even watch it all, why are you still incensed many years later? And why do you feel qualified to judge her character on a public forum?

And I don't think she doesn't see her appearance as an embarassement (as evidenced by her blog post), but the fact that people can't seem to let this go speaks bounds.

Pretty much what I wrote spelled out in detail.

I don't know how I feel about her trying to piggy back that story about sexism. Most of the women posting are commenting about they aren't treated properly or respected for doing their job. She wants to pretend that taking shit for getting drunk and acting like a fool is the same thing.

She clearly has forgotten

based on this.
