I haven't gone in and checked, but the vast majority of my collection (I have over 150 films, but only podcasts and a few other videos showed up).

EDIT: AVI is a glaring omission.

Hm, yeah. Avi is a known problem (mkv too). Someone reported that 2.0 apparently also got a stealth update for some video formats and I was hoping avi would be included.

No luck there I suppose.

How exactly can you play PS1 and PSP games on the vita? There are a whole ton of PS1 games I'd love to play on it.

I personally have not tried yet, but I would guess to download them from the PSN store onto the Vita. If that does not work, try downloading onto PS3 and transfering it? I have read that some games require this method as they are not 'officially' Vita supported yet.

You can buy them off the PSN store on the Vita and just download them, or if you have a PS3, you can buy it there and hope they transfer over to the Vita. A lot more apparently work with that method than can be downloaded direct.

What do you mean? You can buy/download them from the store. You cant use your own copies.

PSP games use the full screen, with the possibility of overlying a filter. Some 2D games (Try No Heroes Allowed) look razor sharp despite being upressed though.

PS1 games will have a smaller 4:3 section of the screen and the R2 and L2 buttons are mapped to the backpad I believe.

And as the guy above me said, way more PS1 games work if transferred via PS3 than what you can dl directly in the Vita store.

Compatibility list.

I already have FFVIII on my PS3, would that transfer over?

Persona 4 is damn amazing - I hope everyone owns it or plans on getting it soon. Really makes me want a Gintama game in a similar vein, where I mostly just walk around and explore personalities.

just had my way with the whole intro and welcome park or whatever and updated to 2.0.... initial thoughts:

pros:
everything seems seamless getting in and out and connected
the white much more than i thought i would
love the clear shoulder buttons
screen is huge and beautiful
enjoy the bubble jiggle in the os

cons:
joysticks are much smaller than i thought
joysticks dont click in
hands cover up the speakers
the ergonomic areas for your fingers dont feel "right" per se
was surprised the welcome park didnt have a game using the rear touchpad
screen dwarves button sizes - feel dis-proportioned

man, vitaGaf rules.

psn: wutdaheckman

question - is the mem card supposed to click in? - nvm.

Yeah, no. As far as I can tell it's still only supporting mp4, but it seems that any mp4 will work now. Initially it was extremely picky with which mp4s it accepted (you had to convert stuff with a video converter program just to get it to play). It's not complicated anymore; just transfer the mp4 and it should work (I've only tried it with two files, but they're dissimilar).

I doubt they'll ever add mkv support, for piracy reasons.

Toma, purchased Pure Chess today :>

VanWinkle, preordered SonicRacing Transformed. I figured "What the hell, why not?" - afterall, I came away surprised and currently enjoying CoDBOD, and that was supposed to be a disaster (its not).

I'm absolutely in love with this machine. So far I've only tried shinobido. Great little game even though it doesn't seem to be pushing the power of the Vita, it is quite vivid and the colors are amazing. The screen on this thing is incredible. I'm still holding it with uncomfortable new tech hands, so I didn't play it for super long, haha. Should I be actively avoiding resting my hands on the back of the thing due to the touch pads?

Also, should I just be handling this like a cell phone and not really shutting it off and instead just pressing the power button to put it to sleep?

You are in for a treat when you venture to other titles.

And some games have some functions on the backtouch, so you gotta avoid it. If they dont, you are free to rest your hands however you wish.

Yeah, best Vita mode is sleep mode (when its not on).

Welcome Park does use the back. It's one of the number games.

do you guys find it more convenient to back up/connect to your PC or PS3?

Depends what for. If its for savegame backup -> Cloud of course. For full game backups I use my PS3 since I need my HDD space for other stuff on my PC, but I dont think its that big of a difference.

Make sure to set up the Wifi connection to the PC though via PC content manager. Making a screenshot and transferring it to the PC immediately is godly.

I had some issue making screenshots while continuing to shoot, but here are a few screenies I just made:

Sine Mora is gooooorgeous. I am also VERY surprised at how awesomely diverse the level design is. Bombs from above that you gotta avoid, laser beams that zap through the screen, monster worms that will drop poisonous goo on death..and its surprisingly hard as well. Reminds me quite a bit of Gradius V, which is a very good thing.

Four new pages since I got off work, seriously?

I've spent a LOT of money on digital Vita games, way more than physical copies would've cost me. I'm not doing that anymore. From now on PS+ instant library is where it's at, and I will NEVER again pay $40 for a game on PSN. EVER. Not even for Persona 4 (don't have time to play it anyway).

The problem with blanket policies like this is that there are a lot of things that never receive price drops and are often simply worth as much as they cost. How you spend your money is your prerogative but I do think this is a really rash way to limit your spending. Especially when you consider that the number of full-price buys is often what determines a game's success in the publisher's eyes and whether more of it comes down the line.

Gravity Rush going free so quickly makes me think Sony regards it as a failure.

hey vita noob here, if i download a demo, say the lumines demo and then decide to buy it do i have to redownload the full game? looks like the demo size and full game size are the same.

Hey StarCreator, you're getting that Project Diva f song DLC, right? Are you gonna post impressions(basically if it's a good song or not and the difficulty) of it anywhere?

I know damn well I will Neva Eva be deleted. Can't say the same for the other lessors

I think if you have the demo downloaded it'll likely be an unlock key if the demo is huge(like Lumines and Rayman Origins and Resistance etc)

I can't imagine I wouldn't say something about it in the Project DIVA thread. Still trying to figure out if they've even changed the song itself at all since it appeared in Project DIVA 2nd though. We only know the PV and notes have changed from the screenshots so far.

Kinda off-topic, but...
Anyone knows for how long the $12-Music Unlimited offer will last?

After Black Friday, I can't afford anything else until December 7. :/

Excellent, I mostly just want to know if it'll be worth the money and hassle of switching. I know Sega said something along the lines of all new songs in the game, but I'm not so sure if that'd include DLC or not. I guess the best I can do is hope it's a totally new song(or at least the beat/tempo will be chance!).

I think it's up for at least another week since it doesn't say it's leaving next week on the Store Update Blog post.

I'm now a PS+ member, yay me? Anyways, cloud backed up my Ragnarok and Little Kimgs Story save data and then deleted the games to make room for the free PS+ games.

Quick question though, can I still play P4G while the Vita downloads Wipeout and Gravity Rush?

Yeah, should be no problem. Edit: Beat'd.

After an amazing few weeks of releases it feels weird to not see something new on the PSN store. Was anything for Vita released today?
Just something called Phineas and Ferb Across the Second Dimension. (I dunno) But I think it's just a PSP game because it's also listed as being a PSP title which has the exact same file size.

So, no. Nothing this week.
