How much money do they need to get to their next release?
This is awesome but I own everything but Red Faction.
Feel really bad for THQ. I seriously want them to survive. Also, Turtle Rock Studios donating over $1000 to in-turn fund their own game? Funny. And Sad. But really cool to see the support.
edit:
That said, I didn't buy into this but I did pay a full $60 for Darksiders II Wii U, so I did my part!
That is what sucks. I bought the Company of Heroes Gold Edition in stores... like a boxed copy and wanted to get on the 3rd expansion pack eventually, so I guess this is it. Plus I wanted it for like 2 of the soundtracks. But if my $20 helps THQ, it is totally worth it with the way the company has really shined in the past few years! This is awesome but I own everything but Red Faction.
It's steamworks.
You're probably mistaking Games for Windows with Games for Windows Live. They're not the same. But I'm 100% certain that it's Steam-redeemable: Steam Retail / Digital CD Keys. Search for The Last Remnant.
It does have the Games for Windows logo on it.
It does not have the Game for Windows Live logo on it.
Therefore it probably supports the 360 controller out of the box, and that's about all that you can infer from that logo.
I have voiced my issues with this in at least one previous Humble Bundle thread, but I really wish they would offer more Charity options than just American Red Cross and Child's Play. I am not going to give the American Red Cross another dime due to their many ongoing issues and problems, as well as their bad history, and Child's Play is a very nice concept, but not really what I want my money to go to if I am going to give with Charity in mind. Personally I would prefer to give to charities focused on boots on the ground type of emergency projects, food, or medical care in third world countries, like Doctors Without Borders USA.
At least having any kind of larger options between different charities with different focuses would be much nicer.
I am indeed. Thank you for the correction. ...doesn't fix things though. *sad face*
You can probably sell the key itself to someone in the Steam thread then.I am indeed. Thank you for the correction. ...doesn't fix things though. *sad face*
I originally only paid a $1, but then felt bad and bought 2 $10 bundles and gave them away. Some of you guys realise that you can give a little more then 1 buck for a company that you like instead of laughing at people that will lose their jobs right...
does this work in the uk, someone reply asap
This is like the Titanic announcing all the food is free on board after hitting the iceberg.
And then people complaining that the food should've been fancier.
COH is uncensored
SR3 key doesn't activate, since it is region-locked. You can contact support and get a key for the German (censored) version, or try your luck with activating it through a VPN.
As long as we're going along this analogy, not fancier, but healthier.
Can you fault me for calling this the Humble Indie Bundle without thinking it twice prior to this day? Well, that's no more, like I said, the HIB was a nice thing that promoted indie ideals like DRM-free games, affordable prizes, the non-persecution of pirates, porting for neglected platforms like Linux, etc. THQ doesn't represent that, and it feels like your favorite indie band signing to the big label. They probably never said they'd "sell out" but that doesn't make it right.
Same with EA doing their own Kickstarter or something, it's big companies known for fucking everything up, sticking their noses in every single safe haven, and what's the first thing that happens? You get a Windows-only, Steam-only bundle.
I'm not gonna be fatalist, probably next month we'll get HIB#7 and it'll be nice and cool and we'll buy Hotline: Miami's OST for 10 bucks and it'll be ok but for me it won't be the same.
OK at least now I know you're missing the point intentionally
I don't know those books (what's with all the book counterarguments lol), so I don't know what to tell you. Maybe I'd mind if they were selling Harry Potter?
I don't see how selling books is acting against their morals...
I try to be. I've passed on many "must-play" games as a result, which is a bit of a shame. (Yup, haven't played Portal. Still bothers me sometimes!) But I prefer to stand by the principle of DRM-free, even if it costs me some fun experiences.
As, after all, so much of the thread likes to point out, they're only games.
(I think the last physical PC game I bought was The Last Remnant, and then I found out it GWFL. I still haven't put the disc into my computer as a result, and probably never will...)
I am with you in spirit, brother. But I crossed over to the dark side years ago when the first big Steam sale started. Now my Steam backlog is absolutely enormous, and I end up playing my GOG games more often than my Steam titles. Still though, the Steam sales entice me with their siren songs of potentially wonderous gaming good times to be had on the cheap. Much like a harlot plying her trade to longshoremen on the waterfront. Who thinks about DRM/venereal disease when it is that cheap?
STAY STRONG, MY BROTHER. Stay innocent. *sobs*

To stick with the Titanic analogy, it's making me sick that many people in this thread are proud of the fact that they are shuffling the rich old men onto the life boats (donating all the proceeds to THQ) in lieu of maybe creating some room for the poor women and children (donating all the proceeds to charity). And then they are being called heartless for wanting that money to go to a better cause.
Easy Christmas gifts. This is awesome but I own everything but Red Faction.
I think people are trying to donate to THQ so they stay afloat. Hence keeping a lot of people's jobs secure. If that works or not, who knows. To stick with the Titanic analogy, it's making me sick that many people in this thread are proud of the fact that they are shuffling the rich old men onto the life boats (donating all the proceeds to THQ) in lieu of maybe creating some room for the poor women and children (donating all the proceeds to charity). What's the record for number of purchases a Humble Bundle has sold?
What's the record for number of purchases a Humble Bundle has sold?
almost no pc releases stay at even 50% of their original cost after a month or so these days though
this is scary as shit to hear as an indie dev...3 full budgeted titles with million dollar budgets = not worth 5 bux
this industry man
Man, I hope Stalker gets included as a bonus. I've been holding off buying that for ages.
If I buy this, I feel like I'm rewarding THQ's execs for putting the company in the situation it is in, or am I wrong?
I haven't been following the whole situation closely, but I recall an article about (ex) staff going public about THQ's higher ups mismanagement.
HIB V with ~600,000 bundles sold and $5.1m raised.
Humble Bundle V: 5.1m$, ~600k sold

THQ only published the firstWhich one?
Wow, so this THQ thing is well on track to beat that. That's pretty rad.

How crazy would it be if THQ made so much they were like "fuck it" and gave those that beat the average Darksider 2 too?
