THQ Humble Bundle is up (THQ needs your money lol)

I like that the top contributor, Turtle Rock Studios, is currently working on a secret project for THQ. Seems odd that a developer is giving their publisher money.

(of course they could have given all the money to charity or something)

That is what sucks. I bought the Company of Heroes Gold Edition in stores... like a boxed copy and wanted to get on the 3rd expansion pack eventually, so I guess this is it. Plus I wanted it for like 2 of the soundtracks. But if my $20 helps THQ, it is totally worth it with the way the company has really shined in the past few years!
 
I have voiced my issues with this in at least one previous Humble Bundle thread, but I really wish they would offer more Charity options than just American Red Cross and Child's Play. I am not going to give the American Red Cross another dime due to their many ongoing issues and problems, as well as their bad history, and Child's Play is a very nice concept, but not really what I want my money to go to if I am going to give with Charity in mind. Personally I would prefer to give to charities focused on boots on the ground type of emergency projects, food, or medical care in third world countries, like Doctors Without Borders USA.

At least having any kind of larger options between different charities with different focuses would be much nicer.

Therefore it probably supports the 360 controller out of the box, and that's about all that you can infer from that logo.

That's a really good point. I'd like to see the people at Humble Bundle take this into consideration.

edit: Unless a lot of people change the slider to 0, it seems like THQ might make a few million on this deal.

I've always associated the humble bumbles with charity stuff as opposed to the indie stuff. So for me, this is a good way to promote some charity stuff, promote the bundles and now I have COH on Steam!

I am with you in spirit, brother. But I crossed over to the dark side years ago when the first big Steam sale started. Now my Steam backlog is absolutely enormous, and I end up playing my GOG games more often than my Steam titles. Still though, the Steam sales entice me with their siren songs of potentially wonderous gaming good times to be had on the cheap. Much like a harlot plying her trade to longshoremen on the waterfront. Who thinks about DRM/venereal disease when it is that cheap?

To stick with the Titanic analogy, it's making me sick that many people in this thread are proud of the fact that they are shuffling the rich old men onto the life boats (donating all the proceeds to THQ) in lieu of maybe creating some room for the poor women and children (donating all the proceeds to charity). And then they are being called heartless for wanting that money to go to a better cause.

I think people are trying to donate to THQ so they stay afloat. Hence keeping a lot of people's jobs secure. If that works or not, who knows.

Like cicero said, I don't care to donate to either of these charity's. People are on the verge of losing their jobs.
 
If I buy this, I feel like I'm rewarding THQ's execs for putting the company in the situation it is in, or am I wrong?
I haven't been following the whole situation closely, but I recall an article about (ex) staff going public about THQ's higher ups mismanagement.

It's really hard to put all the blame entirely on THQ's management. I don't know though. I never really followed their demise. Just feels like what happened is their games didn't sell. It's hard to tell if that's management's fault or if people just weren't interested in the games studios were making.

So do you get 2 keys one for the main games and one for Saints Row like the normal Humble Bundles?

Also what key normally gets the bonus games? It's the Saints Row key normally isn't it?
Or will they give extra keys separate?

Meh. If i want to support a charity, i'll support a charity. My view is that i am buying THQ's games, so THQ should get all of the money.
