The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

Soldier is the one and true Shepard class.
True. Still the most boring class.

Also assault rifles are pretty shitty in me3 IMO.

What class did y'all roll on your main Shepard?

Vanguard was the way to go IMO.

Properly speced = no cover.

Fun stuff.

Soldiers are shit in 3 due to no gun restrictions.

They have all the ammo types. Whoopydo!

Honestly any class is more fun than soldier. I personally enjoyed Adept (Warplosions everywhere!) and Vanguard the most, I think.

I hate you soldier guys. That's why you got ammo types as powers in the sequels, due to how shitty your class is. Any other class is better.

I played them all (like, from start to finish), and I think I enjoyed Infiltrator, Adept and Vanguard the most. The only weapon you need in ME2 is the Geth plasma shotgun anyway.

Quick Look: Miasmata (Drew/Patrick) (53:52)

Drew and Patrick attempt to get their bearings as they battle a mysterious island, a reclusive monster, and their own hands!
DREW?

YES !

Sentinel and Vanguard ended up being my main female and male Shepards.
I played through the ME 1 with an Infiltrator first so they were both able to use Sniper rifles when I created them.

I only played ME 3 with the female Sentinel, though.

They've talked about only playing as soldiers before. They felt having access to all the guns was more important than having powers accessible for their main character. I'm not a fan of playing that way, I always preferred sniper rifles and pistols anyway and the more powers I had access to the better but a big part of their argument was that they already had access to most of the powers through their squad mates.

Does any class have gun restrictions in ME3? All I know is that everyone has the same weight system, but that's more of an "everyone has gun restrictions".

i mean, we can carry all gun types at once so i just switch around whenever. other classes can only carry like two guns at a time right?

It's logical to choose Soldier if what you want is optimal flexibility in how you can engage enemies. However, simply shooting guns in that game is lame as fuck when there's so much more you can do if you play as other classes.

"Poor show Mass Effect 3"

Good way to describe the whole game, lol.

Despite the irrational hate it gets, it's not a good way to describe the whole game for me. Loved it. Best series of games I've played this gen, or any other gen for that matter. Haven't tried Omega yet, but it's getting bad and good reviews, so I guess I'll give it a shot at some point.

No, they changed that in 3. Soldiers have the highest weight capacity so they can carry a bunch of heavy guns at once without too much power recharge penalty, but every class can carry 5 guns at once in ME3.

ah ok, that's cool. i stuck with Soldier since that's what I used since ME1. my FemShep is a pure soldier. i let my allies do that other stuff. they can't shoot for shit anyway.

My dislike is completely rational.

I think my favorite really is Adept, especially with the way cooldowns work in ME3. Pack one or two lightweight guns that don't affect the cooldown bonus and you can basically spam your biotic powers.

Vanguard through all three games, but I really didn't spam charge / nova all that much in ME2/3. I prefer the ME1 vanguard playstyle, disables + shotgun.

TNT almost made me want to check out the MP again, I haven't seen most of the DLC stuff. I'm afraid I'll get stuck in the "I'll just grind out one more spectre pack" cycle though.

Massy Fect...

Edit: Ugh, Brad plays soldier? Boooooring.

I felt exactly the same way watching the TNT. Soldier is incredibly boring. I don't know why he didn't play Vanguard with a pistol in multiplayer. The game becomes infinitely more awesome.

Vanguard is all about ABC.

The mapping stuff looks like a lot of fun to me. I got pretty excited at the end of the video when there were five landmarks all in view from the top of that cliff.

I'll probably get it when it's £5 or less... hopefully in the Steam Christmas sale.

Engineer4life
Playing this class in ME3 single and multiplayer is the most fun combat experience i had in any Mass Effect

I had never touched Engineer until the PC multiplayer beta. It was a ton of fun and it ended up being what I used in the full game for SP and MP. Easily my favourite class in the game.

I always played Soldier in ME but I used my team mates to do biotics and stuff.

I did try Vanguard when I first played it because it was what the internet said was best but I just didn't like it.

Miasmata looks terrifically (is that a word?) atmospheric.

Patrick nailed it when he talked about the game's impressive committment to realism (at least the parts pertaining to navigation and movement procedures).

It's not how I would like to spend my time in a game, but it's just cool that something like this can exist without worrying about focus groups and marketing bullet points.

PC gaming :bow

I bought it and I'm having fun with it.

Mishmasha looks fun, although I was spoiled on what the monster looks like and I feel like some of the suspense/mystery might be gone for me if I tried to play it. Still, love the idea of the game.

Steam's update splash page promoting the game was basically a big image of the monster, so I don't think they're trying to keep it that secret.
