I fucking loved Quaritch. I'm so tired of these generic action villains that have some artificial semblance of "depth" because the director threw in an extra scene of exposition. Fuck that, Quaritch had presence and that alone was great.

Quaritch chewed that scenery to perfection.

I love Quaritch. Dude is on fire and doesn't even notice. And when he does, he just brushes the fire off.

His 'masks on!' scene is equally awesome. You don't realize till the end that he's been holding his breath - when one of his soldiers comes up to him and offers him the mask.

Worthington can act just fine. He's just really terrible at accents.

If we started judging people's acting ability on their accents then DiCaprio would be out of a job.

Yeah, I'm not a Sam Worthington fan either.

I still can't believe I went and saw Clash of the Titans in 3D smh
Still one of the worst movies I've seen in theaters.

Worthington isn't great by any stretch of the imagination. But he's decent. He does his job well enough. He is by no means a 'bad' actor. He can't pull off an accent worth a damn and people immediately equate that with bad acting.

What's hilarious is that he gave a better performance than Bale in that shitty Terminator movie.

He did, I'll give him that. Bale mailed that in. Still, that was leagues better than Terminator 3. I enjoyed it.

So any villain is piss poor then unless you have read about them?

Loki was fine and I haven't read the comics.

No you don't have to read about them. I don't read the comics and knew who he was, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a poor, forgettable villain.

Exactly. I have never read a comic book in my life. He's just a lame villain.

T3 was awful and yet was still leagues better than Salvation. Salvation didn't even make sense as a standalone movie, let alone a sequel of any sort. Really terrible.

Glad I haven't watched it then.

I am mixed on Terminator 3. There is a lot wrong with the movie, but I loved the fact that they had the balls to end it the way they did. It is a shame that Arnold was lackluster in it and the villain was ten shades of lame.

And it was basically just a bad parody of T2.

Which part? The entire movie? I will agree with that. But I did like the fact that the entire mission was just to get
Connor into the bunker before the rest of humanity was wiped out. Was not what I was expecting.
. But Kristanna Loken was about as intimidating or threatening as an olive fork.

I rewatched Avatar on Blu last week, first time I seen it since the theaters.

Even though I was dead tired, I really enjoyed it. I think it held up quite nicely and the visuals are still unmatched. Easily the best PQ on blu as well.

Oddly enough, as soon as the action started I began to nod off and missed a lot of scenes. Its funny because I basically rented it to watch the action thanks to those GIFs Sculli loves to throw around.

Only lame thing is that it was the standard edition. I'll save the EE run just before the sequel comes out...if I'm still alive.

Yeah I liked that.

The villain sucked so bad and the movie was just weak.

****************

Anyone wonder what happened to those post-avatar depression people?

lol, I just remembered that.

It does set up the future universe in a competent way. Far better than what you normally get with a movie like that.

Problem, the rest of the movie is void of anything original. People like T2, so let's just do a new take on it. Repeating the same scenes, plays, etc.

The only good part of T3 is the ending score. It's especially hilarious because Marco Beltrami had his thumb up his ass for the other 100mins of that film's run time. I remember the big action scenes actually had no music.

The entire movie should have just been Quaritch spouting off one-liners and committing mass genocide against the Na'vi, then have him go out like Custer at Little Bighorn. That would have been cool.

I don't know what I'm more confused about

Why a thread that's 3 years old is still being posted in, or that this movie got an 82%.

Unless that's a typo and they meant 28, but even that's probably a little high.

This thread allows easy access to golden memories.

LMAO!

Sculli, I hold in my hand this Blu-ray edition:

This is not the extended, correct? What's the difference?

No, that is not the extended edition.

Extended edition has the extended cut of the film (20 minutes longer), about an hours worth of even more deleted scenes that don't appear in any cut of the film (some of which are absolutely brilliant and are painfully absent due to how much money they would have cost to complete) and about five to six hours of making of featurettes.

The Extended Edition is actually $20 at amazon atm. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044XV3QY/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I need to check out the extended edition sometime, I imagine it could do nothing but help the movie from what I heard and Cameron's special editions are always interesting.

And it was basically just a bad parody of T2.

It really was. I find T3 a lot more offensive that Salvation. Salvations just pure shitty, with an interesting visual here or there but pretty much non-offensive. T3 on the other hand has such classic exchanges as:

John Connor: Do you even remember me? Sarah Connor? Blowing up Cyberdyne? Hasta la vista, baby? Ring any bells?
Terminator: That was a different T-101.
John Connor: What, do you guys come off an assembly line or something?
Terminator: Exactly.
John Connor: Oh man, I'm gonna have to teach you everything all over again.

My brain melted during that movie.

Fuck, I knew I should have held out til the end of 2010 for that edition, especially since I haven't even watched this one yet lol
