Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

I've been reminded that Leviathan does build up elements for the ending far far more than anything else in base ME3, so he might actually have an idea.

It'll be pretty weird to have an in-depth ME3 discussion on the Bombcast now that it seems like so long ago. I just hope they understand the fan reaction enough to dissect what exactly was wrong with the ending.

There are two ways that this could go: 1) Brad doesn't get what's so terrible with the ending, and the rest of the crew tries to explain/contextualize it with the pre-EC ending. 2) Brad dislikes the ending and passionately tears into it (there will be lots of groaning).

It'll be interesting to hear which choice Brad initially takes.

Since he will have played Leviathan prior to experiencing the ending, at least he'll be prepared with a relatively decent expositional build up. I'm still bitter that Leviathan wasn't originally a part of ME3.

If Patrick's there they will ostensibly contextualise the systems, don't you worry about that.

I am starting to wish I just jumped into ME3 instead of playing through 1 just so I can listen to the GOTY podcasts and this upcoming video.

I have made it this far without knowing what the ending to 3 is so if Brad fucking spoils it randomly on next weeks bombcast I'm going to be pissed. Will have to keep my eyes out before hand. Also I guess unfollowing brad on twitter might be smart.

Since I am replaying through 1 and 2 + all the DLC + breaks in between games I dont plan of playing ME3 until sometime next February or march, lets say around the time of the release of some kind of Mass Effect 3: Complete Edition.

The ME3 ending is so bad that I wish I knew so I would have quit and sold my copy before finishing.

Or at least I'd be prepared for the worst ending to any piece of fiction that I've ever seen.

^That would've been way better.

I don't think Brad is going to react the way we expect him too. Maybe he will like it even :O

A live show would be great though, so I'm up for that.

If you're really scared of spoilers for one specific thing, you should stay away from GAF discussions until it's done.

There's always that one guy.

aeris dies

HE DID IT

Oddly enough the final puzzle was the easist one for me

lol yeah. It's funny how the whole game setup exists because
girl can't solve a low level sudoku puzzle
.

But I forgive him. Same with VLR, at that final stretch, i kinda didn't give a fuck about solving the puzzles and just want to see what's up.

I'm actually shocked he hasn't been spoiled to some degree already. Kudos to him (and everyone around him).

There is not one "thing" you can spoil about the ending of ME3 so it's not very hard to avoid it. That's why I think Brad really has no idea why it is hated so much, because "Shepard dies" would not be the thing everyone is mad about.

brb finishing mass effect 3

Now we wait for him to tell us how completely wrong his prediction was.
I really hope some of the other guys took that envelope from him, I didn't see him give it to anyone else in the video. I wouldn't put it past Bradley to change his prediction after the fact, you know how shrewd those Australian anime fans are.

Now you guys make me interested in this game. Is it really that, shocking?
It's a twist, alright.

But the visual novel itself is not good enough to read through a couple times to get to that point, imo.

There is another visual novel named Ever17 that takes literally 20 hours to get through the first time. Even making liberal use of the "skip mode", by the time you beat it enough times to unlock the true ending, you are absolutely sick of it. But the true ending is mindblowing enough to change your perception of everything you've grown accustomed to, and make you question why you couldn't notice what was right in front of you. It almost makes me wonder if the extreme repetition was an intentional design.

That being said, I think 999 is best being played through once without consulting anything, then using a spoiler-free walkthrough to get the ending that unlocks the true ending. The puzzles aren't anything special, and there's nothing worse than having to redo one on the next playthrough and forgetting to write down the answer. Thankfully the sequel cleverly fixes both of those problems.

Seems like a good place to ask...

Some asshole spoiled Walking Dead for me yesterday, saying
"The black dude dies"
Is walking dead now completely ruined for me? I was planning to play it during Christmas break...

You should still play it.

That spoiler isn't as big as it sounds.

It's Walking Dead, kinda expected. Just play it for the story. Plenty of other surprises.

I should really finish ME3. Played all the Way to
after the cerberus attack before touching multiplayer. Only to then realize it was to late then to get my readiness up for the best ending
Imidiatly stopped playing after that and havent been playing it since. Really dont feel like loading up a pre
cerberus attack save. Especially since the one I have pre cerberus is even before the asari monestary part, which I hated

How much difference is there between the endings?
