I'll admit, I was on the blind-hate backlash when her album was hyped and came out. Her voice didn't appeal to me at all, and everything just seemed so fake. I just got around to listening to Born To Die, and I realized she actually is pretty interesting. I would say her self-described "gangster Nancy Sinatra" is a pretty accurate, but I would personally say hipster self-aware neo-Nancy Sinatra.

Fantastic artist. Born To Die is aural sex. It's so good, goes through so many emotions and sends so many messages.

Which is why it's so annoying that she was the worst concert I went to all year. Just an awful show.

Paradise Edition makes Born to Die even better, didn't think that was possible.

Aside from that I don't really use her music. She is kinda local, too.

Not Local at all. She has been on so many Vogue covers in different countries. Her debut album is 3 Million sold WW.

Lana also has a H&M campaign... but that didn't really give her any impact in the US. Does she really have 3 Million sold WW for Born To Die? That is impressive, considering.

Blame space, is this lana del rey shade legit? Considering your fondness for lil b, I expect better of you. The fact that she's manufactured is part of the appeal, regardless her brand is absolutely flawless. Truly fascinating really the world we live in.

Lana Del Rey was proof that there is a such thing as bad publicity in the music industry.

Arguably one of the biggest creative talent in Pop to debut this year, but nobody wants to give her the time of day.
 
She's fantastic. One of the best new artists I've discovered this year.

Has she gotten better live? I'd love to see a show of hers. >3<
 
I do agree they're both manufactured, but Lil B can sustain his appeal. The Lana train is about to off rails.
 
Honestly, her schitck is probably over. She will put out a new album, everyone will hate it, and she will never be heard from again.

That said, I think she has some great songs. Particularly Blue Jeans.
 
Lil B isn't manufactured, just comparing him as I think he's an equally interesting brand and marketing-wise.
 
Yayo is by far her best song (not the new version).

Also who the bloody hell cares whether something was manufactured, has ZERO to do with whether or not it's GOOD.
