while I like the oled, I would happily trade it for an lcd screen (of equal size and resolution) and 32gb on board memory.

yeah Oled is amazing for gaming.
but sadly I think Sony will use some cheap lcd screen for the Vita revision to make it cheap.
People keep saying that but I don't think they an afford to.
The OLED wow factor is what keeps drawing people into buying a vita at first
32 gig card here. Backup underway.
The Vita costing less than 150$ will keep drawing people to buy a Vita.

Nice idea, but not for me. I'd rather just buy a bigger card and keep my nice OLED.
I will weep the day my Vita days and I have to go buy a new one.
Which reminds me, I need to call SquareTrade back to see why they called me back after telling me to get lost.
Ninja edit. I saw the original. I just didn't quote it fast enough.
I think so too.![]()
Don't really see it, Sony is not smart enought to do that.
I think Vita revision will be downgrade in almost everything.
-Cheaper LCD (maybe Smaller screen too)
-crappiest Camera.
-No real sticks but circle pads instead
-smaller speakers
-more tablet like design than a PSP (think of that Android JXD S7100 thingy).
Lol yeah I did this when I went from 8-16.Welcome to the club. Enjoy waiting 40000000000000 years for it to back up!![]()
that all being said, I figure the next version will keep the oled as the price will likely have gone down, and ideally we get video out for that version which is when I will pick up a second one for my wife.
If we get on board memory we get on board memory.... knowing sony though it would just be an extra barrier if you wanted to change regions and the on board memory would be tied to an account and required to be reformated whenever you change accounts... luckily for me I don't have many reasons to change regions in general.
Lol yeah I did this when I went from 8-16.
So anyway I just put the 32gig card in and my cart game bubbles and apps were in the right place (bar the ones not restored yet) with the right colour backgrounds... Is this new? I thought it jumbles them up each time you switch.
If so that means I have 3 cards that I can actually use and switch between???
Well the cameras are already shit but I do think the lcd is a possiblity. But I hope for a revised oled preferably white oled to keep the color balance and an active GUI (menu slides away) to prevent image retention. It'll help increase the oleds life.Don't really see it, Sony is not smart enought to do that.

Sadly, I read many posts everywhere thinks that Wii U GamePad screen and 3DS XL are as good as Vita's (many of these posts are here in gaf too)so I don't think many really care.
My first reason to want to change reasons is to play the Soul Sacrifice demo.
After that, I wish I could run it like a PS3, so I could use my JPN account or EU account to get sales/apps/whatever (like Wake Up Club) and just use them on my main account. This would take care of the extra PSP games I got due to the "we're sorry we were hacked" fiasco.
Maybe if you use the same account on all 3 of them?
I'm actually thinking of getting a used Vita (they are cheap anyway) just to use my other PSN accounts.
If anything if the trends continue they may make it bigger.that all being said, I figure the next version will keep the oled as the price will likely have gone down, and ideally we get video out for that version which is when I will pick up a second one for my wife.

I can see the possibility of the LCD though i doubt they would make the screen smaller
I don't see any reason to go cheaper on the camera the ones in the vita already have to be dirt cheap as they are crappier than my 6 year old phone model
I don't see much reason for them to switch to cicle pads.
speakers could go either way... while they are more powerful than my psp's speakers they still aren't anything special in the system so there likely isn't much reason to change those as they are likely really cheap as it is.
I don't see them changing the design... i mean they haven't changed their controller for their consoles since adding sticks back in the ps1 days... the vita is a console yes but it's also a controller, and sony likes to stick with a design that works even if it isn't the best design in the world. (not saying they are crappy designs, but there is always a better one out there waiting to be made)

Really? Anyone with a smartphone from 2010 onwards already has a screen that far surpasses the Vita's. I don't know where the "wow factor" plays in today.People keep saying that but I don't think they an afford to.

I love the hardware (except the shoulder buttons), but the screen is one of its more overrated aspects, and the constant declarations of "dat OLED" are pretty hilarious.
1. It's dim as hell compared to even my brother's cheap LG phone, let alone the iPhone, S3, or Lumia, and most games limiting the brightness to 80% doesn't help.
2. The cheap plastic coating gives the screen a subtle "graininess" compared to the glass on most smartphones.
3. The screen itself is so far recessed into the unit that colors don't pop at all (and that oversaturated look doesn't go nearly as far as most OLEDs in delivering a stunning first impression).
If there is a Vita revision, I want them to get rid of the OLED and replace it with one of those IPS Super LCD panels from Sharp.
Once it has restored I'll switch back to the 16 gig and see what happens. Hope it works as that gives me 54 gig to use.Try it out and let us knowI'd test it with my 16GB but can't be arsed to sort my bubbles out if it jumbles then up
If anything if the trends continue they may make it bigger.
I think it's prettier than my Galaxy S3 as well.
the resolution may be higher on my iphone 5, but the colours look way better on the vita. it's the prettiest screen i own (resolution aside) and i own an ipad retina as well. i also don't find it dim at all... different eyes i suppose!

Just checked out some Stranger's Wrath screen using my Vita.

I heard that game run as fast as a screenshot slideshow on Vita too.
Where you hear that? I only heard that it slows on map loading and then its fine.I heard that game run as fast as a screenshot slideshow on Vita too.
And you're talking bollocks again. It slows down in one place, which doesn't last for very long.
Stop being so hyperbolic.
A game like this doesn't need more than 30fps, really.I heard that game run as fast as a screenshot slideshow on Vita too.
I read that the tech was designed for huge-ass screens. So I doubt it'd be as battery-efficient as Sharp's already established technology.Sony's crystal Led... maybe..I hope.
Golden Abyss prologue impressions:
The Good
- Nolan North
- nice music and atmosphere
- reload/gun changing is feels good and swift with the d-pad's proximity to the left stick
- tapping enemies to stealth kill
The Bad
- Dante's voice actor
- even with the stick AND gyro sensitivities cranked up to max, aiming feels really sluggish and unresponsive for some reason
- swiping in melee combat
- pressing the shoulder buttons... for anything
The Ugly
- those environmental textures
What's wrong with Dante's voice? He's like a typical new jersey douchebag.
Unless that's the point. I dunno maybe it's because I grew up in new york but I love that accent.
Yeah, that's probably it, lol
Sounds really hammy to me
Can we add a PSA in the OP that says:
"Totobeni should only be consulted on the quality of Persona 4 Golden. All other consultations should be directed elsewhere."
Well, I just filled up my 32 GB memory card. Bring on the 64 GB, Sony.
He may talk about Alundra as well ;p

So next size memory card will be 128 gigs right?
Never said anything about response/refresh rates in my post.What.
OLED has 0ms, which means zero ghosting. Playing PSP games on vita was like night and day, especially 2D games.
I was worried that I wouldn't have enough room for Rayman and LBP today until I realized that their demos were just the full games hidden behind an unlock key.
Yay for not having to re-download.

He's a perfectly executed character - you'll get used to it.Yeah, that's probably it, lol
