No negativity in first posts, nono!

Because I was being mean to the game, here is the top page screenshot:

while I like the oled, I would happily trade it for an lcd screen (of equal size and resolution) and 32gb on board memory.

Nice idea, but not for me. I'd rather just buy a bigger card and keep my nice OLED.
I will weep the day my Vita days and I have to go buy a new one.
Which reminds me, I need to call SquareTrade back to see why they called me back after telling me to get lost.

Ninja edit. I saw the original. I just didn't quote it fast enough. :P
I think so too. ;)

People keep saying that but I don't think they an afford to.

The OLED wow factor is what keeps drawing people into buying a vita at first

The Vita costing less than 150$ will keep drawing people to buy a Vita.

32 gig card here. Backup underway.

Congratulations!

Damn Toma, SSD looks GREAT in screenshots. ;)

The Vita costing less than 150$ will keep drawing people to buy a Vita.

People are insane if they think the next revision/price drop will be $149.
I'm thinking it's going to be more in line with the bundles they're doing now, or at least the deals on them. Think of the Black Friday pricing. That seems more likely with a model where they've cut production costs.
Hell, a PS3 still costs $250+ unless you got in on the BF bundle (I totally should have gotten a second console...).
I'm thinking it'll be 3DS XL pricing for the WiFi or close to it. If they keep 3G around, it will probably be +$50, still.

Don't really see it, Sony is not smart enought to do that.

I think Vita revision will be downgrade in almost everything.
-Cheaper LCD (maybe Smaller screen too)
-Crappier cameras.
-No real sticks but circle pads instead
-smaller speakers
-more tablet like design than a PSP (think of that Android JXD S7100 thingy).

Sadly, I read many posts everywhere thinks that Wii U GamePad screen and 3DS XL are as good as Vita's (many of these posts are here in gaf too)so I don't think many really care.

that all being said, I figure the next version will keep the oled as the price will likely have gone down, and ideally we get video out for that version which is when I will pick up a second one for my wife.

If we get on board memory we get on board memory.... knowing sony though it would just be an extra barrier if you wanted to change regions and the on board memory would be tied to an account and required to be reformated whenever you change accounts... luckily for me I don't have many reasons to change regions in general.

I can see the possibility of the LCD though i doubt they would make the screen smaller
I don't see any reason to go cheaper on the camera the ones in the vita already have to be dirt cheap as they are crappier than my 6 year old phone model
I don't see much reason for them to switch to cicle pads.
speakers could go either way... while they are more powerful than my psp's speakers they still aren't anything special in the system so there likely isn't much reason to change those as they are likely really cheap as it is.
I don't see them changing the design... i mean they haven't changed their controller for their consoles since adding sticks back in the ps1 days... the vita is a console yes but it's also a controller, and sony likes to stick with a design that works even if it isn't the best design in the world. (not saying they are crappy designs, but there is always a better one out there waiting to be made :P)

Welcome to the club. Enjoy waiting 40000000000000 years for it to back up! :P
Lol yeah I did this when I went from 8-16.

So anyway I just put the 32gig card in and my cart game bubbles and apps were in the right place (bar the ones not restored yet) with the right colour backgrounds... Is this new? I thought it jumbles them up each time you switch.

If so that means I have 3 cards that I can actually use and switch between???

My first reason to want to change reasons is to play the Soul Sacrifice demo.
After that, I wish I could run it like a PS3, so I could use my JPN account or EU account to get sales/apps/whatever (like Wake Up Club) and just use them on my main account. This would take care of the extra PSP games I got due to the "we're sorry we were hacked" fiasco.

Maybe if you use the same account on all 3 of them?
I think switching accounts requires reset of Vita which would probably make it forget all that?
You can be the guinea pig. Try it out and let us know. ;)

Well the cameras are already shit but I do think the lcd is a possiblity. But I hope for a revised oled preferably white oled to keep the color balance and an active GUI (menu slides away) to prevent image retention. It'll help increase the oleds life.

Maybe if you use the same account on all 3 of them?

I've never bothered to get around to making a japanese account. I love japanese games and I have been slowly self studying to learn japanese, but in general I just wait for the english release thus i am in no hurry to play demos.

For me I never set up my psp account with my EU account so my bonus games were both on my normal NA account so that isn't an issue. Even though I don't switch accounts much I do wish it was more like the ps3 as well. That being said I understand it's a business and that limitations are in place because they will help business not because they want to be jerks... at least they didn't fully region lock stuff.

I'm actually thinking of getting a used Vita (they are cheap anyway) just to use my other PSN accounts.

if I used multiple accounts a lot that is what I would do... for me about the only way I would do that is if a game I really wanted for some reason was a EU digital exclusive, which if that ever came to be I would likely be to annoyed that the company couldn't be bothered to release it on the NA psn as well that I wouldn't want to support them lol

If anything if the trends continue they may make it bigger.

The OLED wow factor is what keeps drawing people into buying a vita at first
Really? Anyone with a smartphone from 2010 onwards already has a screen that far surpasses the Vita's. I don't know where the "wow factor" plays in today.

I love the hardware (except the shoulder buttons), but the screen is one of its more overrated aspects, and the constant declarations of "dat OLED" are pretty hilarious.

1. It's dim as hell compared to even my brother's cheap LG phone, let alone the iPhone, S3, or Lumia, and most games limiting the brightness to 80% doesn't help.

2. The cheap plastic coating gives the screen a subtle "graininess" compared to the glass on most smartphones.

3. The screen itself is so far recessed into the unit that colors don't pop at all (and that oversaturated look doesn't go nearly as far as most OLEDs in delivering a stunning first impression).

If there is a Vita revision, I want them to get rid of the OLED and replace it with one of those IPS Super LCD panels from Sharp.

the resolution may be higher on my iphone 5, but the colours look way better on the vita. it's the prettiest screen i own (resolution aside) and i own an ipad retina as well. i also don't find it dim at all... different eyes i suppose!

If anything if the trends continue they may make it bigger.

maybe... either way if they change the screen for the love of god put in a screen that can be used in direct sunlight...

I mean I know there is a stereotype that games are people who just hide in basements playing games all the time, but you know I would love to be able to play my vita while going for a walk :/

I do understand why there would be worries about them making the system cheaper though, most of the versions of the ps3 got cheaper in a bad way. though personally I think the slim is a bit better than the phat ps3 that didn't have BC, every other new version was a step back.

I think it's prettier than my Galaxy S3 as well.

it's prettier than my phone as well, but so is the psp/3ds lol

Heh odd. I don't agree with many of these. I have a 4s and and nexus 7 and the vitas colours pop the most. Also find vita plenty bright and I leave it on 50-60%

Golden Abyss prologue impressions:

The Good

- Nolan North
- nice music and atmosphere
- reload/gun changing is feels good and swift with the d-pad's proximity to the left stick
- tapping enemies to stealth kill

The Bad

- Dante's voice actor
- even with the stick AND gyro sensitivities cranked up to max, aiming feels really sluggish and unresponsive for some reason
- swiping in melee combat
- pressing the shoulder buttons... for anything

The Ugly

- those environmental textures

What's wrong with Dante's voice? He's like a typical new jersey douchebag.

Unless that's the point. I dunno maybe it's because I grew up in new york but I love that accent.

Can we add a PSA in the OP that says:

"Totobeni should only be consulted on the quality of Persona 4 Golden. All other consultations should be directed elsewhere."

Yeah, that's probably it, lol

Sounds really hammy to me

I'm pretty sure the character actually is from new jersey. I seem to remember Drake casually mentioning it somewhere in the middle part of the game. So it actually sounds pretty realistic for that area, that's what they sound like for the most part.

He may talk about Alundra as well ;p

What.

OLED has 0ms, which means zero ghosting. Playing PSP games on vita was like night and day, especially 2D games.

I was worried that I wouldn't have enough room for Rayman and LBP today until I realized that their demos were just the full games hidden behind an unlock key.

Yay for not having to re-download.

Never said anything about response/refresh rates in my post.

He refers to being wowed after coming from PSP to Vita, which is indeed a bit vague since you referred to smartphones.

Even after seeing the iPhone 3GS, the Vita screen still wowed me though. I think its still a decent piece of technology that holds up quite well.
