Kotaku isn't exactly a "tabloid blogger" though. It's somehow one of the biggest gaming sites and their sensationalist nonsense pieces only get them more hits somehow.

They wouldn't anywhere near as big if they did this shit over any other form of entertainment just because people wouldn't bother putting up with them. I'm hoping that happens someday...

It's tabloid shit. TMZ is a big site too, but it's still tabloid shit.

Here's an example of what I said earlier. They even refer to creators in similar ways -- "the guy" who created this and that. No respect. It's standard tabloid procedure.

so my "position" is undercut because I said that anyone who wants to research could find out a pattern of behavior and the reasoning behind it? its simple logic. but only people that actually want to know why would actually do the research, everyone else can pat themselves on the back and just say to themselves "I'm better than that" with no actual basis of comparison.

the last point definitely has meaning, but it seems like a balanced approach to this blowup is not what you are looking for. but at least you moved on from that "if I ran a video game company" whatever...
 
I think Totillo is doing a good job. He's brought in a bunch of good writers and all but they still sometimes post unnecessary stuff that completely dwarfs the good content.

It's pretty disrespectful to take a random tweet like that and spin it into an article, not to mention the offensive title.

Not sure if it's a good example or not, but the major cable news networks all employee people that say similar or worse things on a nightly basis. Your response will be that no one respects them either, and I doubt I could argue against your point, but they still get views.
 
Gaijin is not really a proper/polite term, but I would look at the intent first before coming to a conclusion.

And that Kotaku article was bad (but that goes without saying, huh?).
 
i like that he says whatever the fuck he wants here, especially given that he's reaching out to his english speaking fans and all...id like to believe he generally doesn't give a fuck but his tweets clearly show otherwise, shit hopefully doesnt give him hypertension

Bayonetta was absolutely amazing, but I have no idea who Marcus Beer is. He reviewed Bayo I'm guessing, but is he actually anyone important?

Regarding the thread topic, both Kamiya and Kotaku toed the line in this one. There was no need for Kotaku to go out of their way to write a sensationalist article just 'because of hits' and Kamiya probably shouldn't have railed at them like that because, well, everyone knows Kotaku are shitheads. It comes with the territory.

Amusing nonetheless, and it doesn't make his games any less brilliant. I guess I'm okay with this as I'm still buying Bayo II. ....Ha, 'Do you eat shit'.

well if that happens, then kotaku can write an article about how kamiya brought down the japanese gaming industry because of his rant on twitter.

but for now, the issue is within that article that kotaku posted about him. it's not well thought out. it's not well researched. they didn't even know if platinum is planning anything on pc or steam because they didn't even bother to ask him about it when he is easily accessible on twitter.

this really hurts gaming journalism more than it hurts japanese gaming industry.

I've never specifically hated Kotaku, but I've always really disliked Luke Plunkett, so I'm quite amused to see Kamiya blast him like that.

I find the general idea of a game creator telling a journalist to ead to be hilarious. Yeah, Kamiya is being a bit childish, but these people aren't supposed to be friends anyway.
 
I kept trying to tell you guys, it's all be downhill for Kotaku ever since they hired that Totilo guy.

Used to be such a respectable gaming outlet once.

Since his original tweet was so badly misunderstood, Kamiya replied in a language kotaku could understand. Seems appropriate to me.
