they do right here:

also, on the quicklooks page it says

and yet there are several quick looks that are shorter than 20 minutes. contractually that is illegal as far as I now.

get your shit together giantbomb!

Less than 20 minute Quick Looks? Fuck those guys.

But yeah, the "premium content every day" thing is pretty lame.

Wait a second, when did no ads become a yearly subscriber only thing? The hell?

Their claim of daily premium content is clearly problematic.

Considering Quick Looks are free I don't think you'd have much of a standing there. Seems more like a "mission statement" to me.

Dunno why people are feeling the need to defend Giant Bomb over something that's pretty black and white IMO.

The daily content thing isn't true, they should change it. It's not a big deal.

Oh wow. I've never seen this. Had I before I bought my membership, I'd be ticked too.

You must have missed the discussion earlier: They absolutely did and are still promising daily premium content to subscribers:

Yep, I sure did. My bad. That's bullshit.

God you guys are fickle. For all I (or they) know perspective is a 30 minute game. I don't want to see the entire game in the quicklook. Not every game warrants even 20 minutes.

Complaining about quick looks being short is one of the most ridiculous things ever.

What I'd love to see them do, and which would probably alleviate some of the feelings when "nothing's on," is run a 24/7 stream of Giant Bomb TV with a chat room. Old content, live shows, early videos before they go on the site, that kind of programming. Might also provide incentive to just go live with whatever more often.

It came up in Jeff's Tumblr recently and he seemed receptive, not sure how much work that would take to run but it would be a pretty cool direction for the site to take considering how video centric they've become.

There's more than enough content for my taste, I'm very satisfied with GiantBomb as a whole. But I think still advertising their "daily content" claim for their premium subscription after all those years and countless complaints about it is pretty sketchy. They are regularly calling out other companies for shady dealings, but are themselves advertising a service in a misleading manner. In a similar vein, having responsive and swift customer service should be expected when they are running a for-pay-service.

These small issues really cloud the otherwise very enjoyable GiantBomb experience.

Yeah and that kinda is why I subscribed. Well that and HD videos, but that no longer is a subscriber only thing. For a time they did pretty well with Random PC Game, Load Your Last Save and something else during the week. Now not much. I can undersand that Dave is busy but he really isn't needed to pull out one of these FMV games they have been sent and put on a live stream. I am especially salty if they put nothing on on Fridays.

I agree. GB should be above this shit.

Huh, out of those 4 daily subscriber categories they use to promote on that site, they only been doing Jar Times and that is bi-weekly at best.

I know they only have so much staff but promoting it like that is still shitty.

I don't think we'll have much to complain about content-wise for the first half of 2013. Too many games coming out. It shall all begin in a couple weeks.

Agreed, but then why is there any reason to subscribe?

Just cancelled my premium sub. Just not enough content to justify paying. Maybe I'll re-up when they do a sale, but for now I think I'll get by on quick looks and bombcasts. Last couple of TNT were kinda boring. Wish they had more of a Whiskey Media Happy Hour type of vibe.

I think it would be really cool to have at least 1 endurance run always going. Producing can be minimal, sit 2 guys down once a week for an hour or 2, and release 15 minutes a day. On top of the current content this would keep me completely satisfied.

If your average Podunk vlogger on YouTube can do it, why can't giantbomb?

Busy busy busy.

You guys just don't understand. They are really really busy doing...stuff.

See this is what I really don't get from an employer point of view.

As a manager of a business one of the most important factors is staff productivity. While there is no way of knowing what is going behind the scenes, from an outsider's view point I just can't see why content is so low compared to other comparable websites.

I guess the guys are just lucky that I'm not their line manager as I would be asking questions such as, Why does the news guy not actually you know....report the daily news stories of the video game world to get me clicks?

For example today Eurogamer published 15 news articles for their members to comment on, Giant Bomb published zero. The majority on EG which written by one guy. Eurogamer isn't perfect but it operates on a fairly small daily editorial team and they provide content for their community to discuss daily. And their reviews are timely.

As much as I enjoyed the GOTY videos I would much rather that energy is used throughout the year to engage me, their reader, and provide a steady stream of content for me and others to enjoy.

Small Staff

I have random people on twitch producing more content than the GB crew with all that staff, production crew and CBS money.

Shameful, just shameful.

If you go to Giantbomb to get your news, you're doing it wrong anyway. People need to start understanding that the approach for a personality-driven site is completely different from other sites.

I want them to RPG that gigantic-ass PC binder they just got.

While listening to the FLCL soundtrack, because that shit is amazing.

That's fair enough, but then you gotta ask what's the guy who was primarily hired for news coverage doing when no content (be it articles or videos) created by him gets posted?

Sometimes the content comes in spurts, sometimes there are content droughts. I wish the content output was more consistent as much as anyone else but leading up to the GOTY stuff I thought there was a good flow, especially with QLs. Last week was great. This week was definitely light on the content but overall I don't think it's been all that bad. I do feel that once Dave is freed up a bit there will be more opportunities for good premium content but who knows. Comicvine could take up all his time after the new site launches.

I don't pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes but I believe Patrick was brought on to write more in depth researched stories than cover daily gaming news.

He's getting his audio interviews leaked to the internet, obviously

And speaking of lazy bums, when did Brad post his last anime article?

Oh boy, they're finally bringing Wake Up Club to america! I can't wait to see what weird things Ryan and crew do with i-what the heck is going on in here?

Personally, I always preferred quality to quantity, but to each their own.

edit:
And speaking of lazy bums, when did Brad post his last anime article?
He just posted some review of some anime or manga called "Basho" or something on the beta site not long ago. Granted, it's ancient, but it's still new to me.

Uh, he did do a pretty damn good QnA series with the walking dead creators which the final part was released this week.

Plus he does the weekly worth readings.

Probably working on getting into contact with people, researching more info for articles. I appreciate that Patrick's stuff takes time.

I get what consumes Vinny, Drew, and Patrick's time, I don't know what the rest of them do. I don't mean they are just twiddling their thumbs, obviously they are working but I honestly don't know what else is there other than networking/planning to get early copies of games and booking events.

What are you talking about? Weekly Worth Readings / The Faces of Death series / Steam Box Plans, Klepek has articles on there quiet a bit, as well as being a part of QLs and Live content.

You might want to actually visit the site before you complain about whats not on the site.

Now this, yeah definitely. Especially when all it takes is taking out the word "daily" from the text.

Eh I worded it badly. Wasn't supposed to sound that dickish.

I'm actually fine with their output. I only visit GB for their podcast and their original video content and 1 or 2 QLs is fine by me.
But advertising their premium content as daily is simply untrue and shitty.
