They never promised daily premium content.
Our editors provide commentary as they play through 20 minutes or more of uninterrupted gameplay.
they do right here:

also, on the quicklooks page it says
and yet there are several quick looks that are shorter than 20 minutes. contractually that is illegal as far as I now.
get your shit together giantbomb!

You must have missed the discussion earlier: They absolutely did and are still promising daily premium content to subscribers:
You guys just don't understand. They are really really busy doing...stuff.
God you guys are fickle. For all I (or they) know perspective is a 30 minute game. I don't want to see the entire game in the quicklook. Not every game warrants even 20 minutes.

There's more than enough content for my taste, I'm very satisfied with GiantBomb as a whole. But I think still advertising their "daily content" claim for their premium subscription after all those years and countless complaints about it is pretty sketchy. They are regularly calling out other companies for shady dealings, but are themselves advertising a service in a misleading manner. In a similar vein, having responsive and swift customer service should be expected when they are running a for-pay-service.
These small issues really cloud the otherwise very enjoyable GiantBomb experience.
Hasn't it always been like that?Wait a second, when did no ads become a yearly subscriber only thing? The hell?
Hasn't it always been like that?
Ryan will be firing arrows and shouting derogatory slurs on a live stream while we see how long he can go before HR shut him down.Unprofessional Fridays? Is that a new premium thingy?

Yep, it always was like that.

I don't think we'll have much to complain about content-wise for the first half of 2013. Too many games coming out. It shall all begin in a couple weeks.
Dunno why people are feeling the need to defend Giant Bomb over something that's pretty black and white IMO.
The daily content thing isn't true, they should change it. It's not a big deal.
I think it would be really cool to have at least 1 endurance run always going. Producing can be minimal, sit 2 guys down once a week for an hour or 2, and release 15 minutes a day. On top of the current content this would keep me completely satisfied.
If your average Podunk vlogger on YouTube can do it, why can't giantbomb?
You guys just don't understand. They are really really busy doing...stuff.
See this is what I really don't get from an employer point of view.
As a manager of a business one of the most important factors is staff productivity. While there is no way of knowing what is going behind the scenes, from an outsider's view point I just can't see why content is so low compared to other comparable websites.
I guess the guys are just lucky that I'm not their line manager as I would be asking questions such as, Why does the news guy not actually you know....report the daily news stories of the video game world to get me clicks?
For example today Eurogamer published 15 news articles for their members to comment on, Giant Bomb published zero. The majority on EG which written by one guy. Eurogamer isn't perfect but it operates on a fairly small daily editorial team and they provide content for their community to discuss daily. And their reviews are timely.
As much as I enjoyed the GOTY videos I would much rather that energy is used throughout the year to engage me, their reader, and provide a steady stream of content for me and others to enjoy.
Agreed, but then why is there any reason to subscribe?
You guys are just talking like this to get brad to post again aren't you?

But the best content usually comes out when there are no big new releases. I'm just looking forward to the continuation of the Blade Runner series.
If you go to Giantbomb to get your news, you're doing it wrong anyway. People need to start understanding that the approach for a personality-driven site is completely different from other sites.
That's fair enough, but then you gotta ask what's the guy who was primarily hired for news coverage doing when no content (be it articles or videos) created by him gets posted?

And speaking of lazy bums, when did Brad post his last anime article? That's fair enough, but then you gotta ask what's the guy who was primarily hired for news coverage doing when no content (be it articles or videos) created by him gets posted?
He just posted some review of some anime or manga called "Basho" or something on the beta site not long ago. Granted, it's ancient, but it's still new to me.And speaking of lazy bums, when did Brad post his last anime article?
