Yeah that's one thing I often notice about fake evos. They actually often don't "evolve" (lol) beyond something I can only call a shallow charizard & venusaur hybrid.

Taking the most basic design idea from the starter and then slightly tweaking the colours & having part of it bigger than it was before. (a la venusaur's flower)

It feels intentionally boring to me in a lot of ways.

Yeah, all the items and Pokemon you collect in it can be transferred to B2/W2. After "beating" it (by catching Landorus), there's a bunch of bonus modes you trigger in various ways. One of them is having the Gen IV games in the cartridge slot when playing, and you'll be able to play a level where you catch that version's mascot.

Everything from it has its hidden ability as well, and there don't seem to be any restrictions on nature/PID generation.
