m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=46303048&postcount=620My guess is fanboys gonna freak out because dat emo dante shit.
Either way da fuck is up with that reaction?
Brad has never played DMC3? DMC3, Dante Must Die for Breaking Brad! ...But that would probably make him hate the game, and I really wouldn't want that, lol
Low Diamond in the early days of SC2 was fairly achievable without knowing much about the game. He's said on the podcast that he wanted to get past the point where he needed to use build orders, which is the point where it actually becomes a deep, strategic game, rather than two guys making a bunch of units trying to replicate the thing they saw on the Korean stream last night. He reached Diamond level in Starcraft II ladder. None of them really seem to enjoy getting deep into games mechanics.
Amazon are dicks and don't deliver to Australia.
Can't really get any games this month. Bought too many other stuff.
I do want to catch up to 3 and 4 though. Like brad I've only ever played 1.
DMC as we know it could be dead. I think it's likely since people who get in deep with the combat system are a very small population so sacrificing them for more sales is no biggie, but I am being very pessimistic.
Thankfully we still have Platinum Games. So stoked for Rising.
Me too. I don't expect a Bayonetta-level masterpiece, but it could be better in some ways and I really hope it has enough depth to justify a full-price purchase. Otherwise I don't know what new game I'll be playing for the first three months of this year.
They GOTY was not XCom?
I don't really think that's a good example considering xcom isn't all that deep for a game in its genre. There are very few classes and abilities which doesn't offer much depth on how you approach a scenario.
I mean, don't get me wrong, xcom was in my personal top 10 list last year but I don't really find it "deep". The game doesn't offer many options to toy around with.
Actually I found the GB quicklook and Ryan playing it during the goty really weird. I hadn't played the game at the time and the way they made it sound it was this really hardcore game where one mistake could screw you over and you always had to think out each situation so you didn't fuck up. I went into the game with that mindset but found the normal difficulty to be very, very easy. Been doing a classic playthrough since then and I kinda feel like it should have been the "normal" difficulty.
Soon as I saw the star rating, I came here to see the hurt butts.
And some people really dig it I guess.A lot of people think Ninja Theory is incredibly overrated in that department.
Are you still looking for them here? There's a lot more in the review's comments.
Normal is easy as hell.
Why look there? Those are always full of it. It's too easy. There's something magical about DMC that manages to take certain posters on GAF, certain logical/rational human beings and turn them into the snootiest passive aggressive types I've ever seen. I have to wonder what 2K Marin's Xcom reboot would have done if it came to fruition. I don't even think Syndicate reboot got as much rage. It didn't have a mocking OT, at least.
Yeah, those snooty passive aggressive types are the worst. But I still think you're better off in the review comments...

yupgood, one less asshole to deal with in Premium chat.
Yeah pretty much, I wish I would had just started on classic. I enjoyed normal but it really was a pretty big joke. But more to the point I was just expecting something crazy based on how the GB crew reacted to the game which is why I don't think it was a very good example for a point of the guys enjoying "super deep mechanics" or whatever because xcom certainly doesn't fit that bill.
I am relatively new to giantbomb, but I have seen some Patrick hate in some places like in this picture. Any particular reason for that?

Well, at least he put his money where his mouth is. 99% of the time someone throws an internet tantrum and claims they're leaving FOREVER, they don't.
He's just canceling his autorenew. If he actually gives a damn about the premium stuff he'll renew before his current subscription runs out.
I imagine Brad is boiling mad at the internet right now. Hopefully he doesn't blow a gasket.
