Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | February 2013 | The most desirable handheld in Japan

Beat Isabella by like -1 in Hot Shots Golf. Hoorah, Amature mode unlocked. But I still have to beat the second course's in tournament in beginner. And grind points for the store. What is a good way for that? Playing online?

If I send you a screenshot with my time now, I can send another one before the challenge deadline in the case I manage to improve my time right?

LOL this sounds all so official, I love it.

I was gonna make it super hard mode and say "one submission only, make sure you make it count!", but nah, you can send in as many as you want.

Wait, what happen? Is it getting delayed?

Naaah, I'm just messing with Grimy's heart.

With how amazing Dissidia was, and how amazing Type-0 seems, I'm surprised Final Fantasy doesn't just go the way of Monster Hunter and become a portable franchise with occasional HD ports.

Final Fantasy would never be allowed to go handheld exclusive. A) sales figures of previous major Final Fantasy handheld releases are less than main series (Crisis Core should be the best selling spinoff at around 2-3 million worldwide), B) Final Fantasy is a series that needs western sales, and neither handheld is doing so hot in the west, C) some western "RPG fans" refuse to even buy handheld consoles, D) the franchise has always prided itself in delivering state of the art visuals.*

*Final Corridor XIII Trilogy excluded

A port of Ni No Kuni would be amazing on the vita... oh well one can dream!

I don't think Level-5 will be releasing any more games for Vita now that Time Travelers, and LBX W are out.

I'm so glad this thread pressured me into getting Persona 4 Golden. Best surprise I've had in gaming in a long time. I'm just under 40 hours in and am loving it. Unfortunately now I trust the group opinion here way too much. Don't lead me astray VitaBros!

Someone hand me a link to P4G in the webstore, I don't even know what the URL for it is.

*Final Corridor XIII sequels excluded

Fixed. If there's anything worthwhile about OG XIII, it's the visuals. The others, not so much.

After playing the new Metal Gear demo I kinda want to get into the MGS series for the sake of the story. I've actually never played any of those games. Is the Vita collection thing the best way to go here? I think I remember people saying it was pretty fun

Get MGS1 off PSN, then get the HD collection and play them in order.

Maybe some obscure psp or ps1 game but i can't remember any

Syndicate is one on PSX. Dunno how well that was ported since it's a PC port and if SimCity 2000 is anything to go by the lack of a mouse add-on sucks.

Also anyone going to answer my point grinding in Hot Shots question? D:

Is the first still playable if you've only played the series with twin snakes and mgs2 controls?

Yes, since the controls for 2/3 are based off it. You lose first person aiming (meh) and have to adjust to pressing square-triangle to run and gun with the FAMAS, but it's completely better than the TTS in difficulty and presentation.

Bear in mind that the HD Collection for the Vita doesn't include Peace Walker (unlike the PS3/360 versions)..

Interesting. Are the 2 games included in the Vita game pack considered the best ones? Is it worth it to go for the first game too?

MGS3: Yes

MGS2: LOL NO (but that's as a fan)

MGS1: Yes, over TTS anyday.

Looks like my friend making the PSM game won't get back to me tonight so i'll leave a screenshot here and post more info when he gives me it ;)

The game will be called "Nunnageddon" and is an arcade game. That's all i have at the moment. It looks cool, though.

More info tomorrow! :)

fjdjdjf it's not my fault i was trying to help

"Nunnageddon"

Misleading name. Where are the overly sexualised nuns with giant weapons? Highly disappointing.

Good luck to your friend though!

Heh, i was just pointing it out that you linked to the wrong thing :)

I didn't know that name held connotations of sexualised nuns ;)

lol Now I'm thinking of "Nanageddon" from The Mighty Boosh.

Final Fantasy XIII, 3 years after its release, is still one of the prettiest PS3 games around. It has some absolutely breathtaking vistas. XIII-2 is a bit rougher around the edges (mostly the sometimes uneven framerate), but it still has its moments (especially dat futuristic city at night and in the daylight :O ).

Though, corridor-criticism is completely valid.

The combat system is one of the best in the series (certainly better than the basic system in I-IX), though restricted for a big portion of the game (it really shines in some of the more challenging (& often optional) boss battles) and the soundtrack is sublime.

All this talk about Final Fantasy just makes me more depressed that Type-0 was never localized (and that we're not seeing an enhanced port on the Vita).
