She doesn't want him to yell at her kids

"Don't yell at my muhfucking kids"

yelling at others and cursing in front of the kids is ok lol

"fo real, why mah babies at dah"

I don't like Rahm Emanuel in the least. However, back in June he was speaking at a news conference regarding the shooting of a 7 year old.

“This is not about crime. This is about values. Take your gang conflict away from a 7-year-old. Who raised you? You have a 7-year-old selling lemonade. You’re a member of a gang coming to get lemonade and another gang member is driving by. Where were you raised and who raised you?”

It's unfortunately, because obviously the parents have no self respect. If they did they wouldn't be acting like idiots in public. The children will likely grow up not not having any self respect, and commiting crimes. Crimes that taxpayers will have to pay for.

Those poor kids. Crying their eyes out as their mom/aunt/whatever attacks another person. They are so terrified. It shows that they think that the behavior is normal and acceptable, but aren't really aware of the consequences of that 'that's why you gay' shit.

Amsterdam en omstreken. :p Use Neger and American Nigger. I don't call random people that mind you. However when I use it in speech no one ever expressed their discomfort.

Nigger in The Netherlands? Surely that is used in a bit of a joking way right? Haha, sounds weeeiiird man. Neger is widely accepted though. Though i don't use it. I feel uncomfortable saying it. I tend to call people by their name or innocent stuff like "gozer", "kerel", or "hey".

Yep. Yeah it is. I dunno being raised in place that's pretty much multi-ethnic referring to people with slang, became pretty much second nature. I do admit when I'm pissed at someone, I don't hesitate to use it in a negative way either. I don't get pissed much though.

Neger is being said way too often and fast imo, If you're a foreigner who comes from a country where the population doesn't exist of pure white people (countries in latin america for example) you'll get called neger. Says something about the knowledge of Dutch people of the world.

I feel really bad for the poor kids. That's what they see and that's how they will act in the future too. Her mother is probably just acting how her parents did in front of her when she was a child.

anyone else think she needed to:

Oh god yes

I wish Gaf had animated avatars

Damn. My people :/ .... and the kids screaming "you gay" like a pack of demons.

Daddy:
I got sum fo em at 6.....now call the amulance....

Depends on where you are in the country I guess. I have noticed at times some of my white friends(from white neighborhoods) using that even when not referring to non-blacks. They do know a lot about the world, they however have an extremely limited slang vocabulary. ;(

Yeah, a bit like what Devolution said. Only copied from the U.S. movies and lyrics.... :P

Though i agree there are people who say this to basicly anyone who has a coloured skin, i also know that these people are not the whole of The Netherlands... come on now.

It is being said way too often, i agree.

Probably has something to do with, but as you know Dutch slang pretty much consist of using the most offensive words possible. It took me a solid 3 years not to use "kanker, tyfus, etc." anymore.

Yeah should've said "some" as I live in the west Brabant and that's one of the regions in The Netherlands where the people aren't really educated in regard of foreigners and their culture/people (when they are burned and their body is al red for example they say: look I'm black") In the Randstad this doesn't happen as much.

Well enough of the off topicness from my part, I'm going to back it up now.

Why...can anyone please explain to me WHY some black people call eachother nigga? Isn't that a bit...offensive? If I was a black person I sure as hell would find it offensive regardless who said it

When did this become OK?

I don't like it and I don't say it.

I'm in the UK and it's pretty normal for whites, asians, and blacks people under 25 to say it tbh.. They don't seem so bothered by it. It's not really something people should get worked up about in this day and age.

Personally I think it's low class, and merely demonstrates a weak will.

It happens and becomes popular like most things because it's perpetuated.

White folk always trying to get us to explain why we use the word

Just keep it out of your mouth! Enough said!

Maybe EVERYONE should do the same. Not just white folks. There are a lot of people of many races and cultures who are tired of hearing that crap.

At least that is dutch :P. I still use "kanker" every day. I'm from a workig class environment, as they used to call it back in the days :P. There wasn't even Rap music back then. But i guess what you said made me understand it better. Cursing was what i grew up with. I don't do it when when my son is around or in the company of stangers by the way.

But yeah.. growing up with it makes all the difference. That's why it's so heartbreaking to see these "parents" act the way they do around their kids. Kid is allready shouting "you are gay!" or something like that.

Brabo-neger!

How do you know you're not confusing that with sarcasm or cynicism?

Woman may say to another woman "sup skank! :D"

Is she setting her sex back two decades?

For a lot of black people its "hello, fellow african-american who's endures the same bullshit as me - this what they call us anyways, lol, fuck em but whatever".

The another big problem with that "Why do they say it?" thing is that people expect all black people to provide the same answer like we somehow lack individualism. The reason why I say/don't say nigger/nigga (and it really is/not the same fucking thing depending on who says it) do NOT have to be same reason as to why another black person does.

Nope

I don't feel the need to be constantly told why the Pakistani race call themselves "pakis", or why the gay community call themselves "twinks" or "queers" some I know have used the word "fags"

We hear everything in this world, sometimes you just don't need to compute why it's being said, ESPECIALLY when it's not being said to you.

Aren't you from England? I thought only black people in US use that word.

Yeah I am, I hardly use it. Our language is quite different- most times we say "man dem", "bredrin", "man", etc. I use "nigga" rarely, but it's still in my vocab.

Dy man up and take care of yo' kids already.
Was that him at the end?

Why do black people repeat the same stuff 10 million times when they are arguing? :/

And that lady got what she deserved. What a piece of trash. Those kids have no hope.
You obviously haven't seen many heated arguments.
This thread is got me ready for Black History Month on GAF
Get ready to tank some shit.
Some are cynical, some learn it as vocabulary, some wear at as a badge of honor, some just inherently quote it, its part of slang for many as you said too.

What kills me is the head scratching and hand wringing of non-black people when it comes to "nigger" being said. "Why do they say it? Why can't WE say it?" over and over, etc.

Some people just really want to say it. But as I tell everybody feel free to say, just that not everyone is as enlightened as me and might take offense to it.

Aren't you from England? I thought only black people in US use that word.

Taking The Incarnation's post as reference, it seems a lot of people in the UK also say it. Seems the sickness has crossed the pond?

Anyways, what about the word "negro"? Would I offend a black person by saying it? I ask because that's what we call black people in spanish. It isnt a bad word here. It's like calling a white person "blanco"

This.

Or more aptly - you know who can say it/when they can say it/why they can say it.

If you can say it comfortably in a place where people who would be offended by it won't be offended by you saying it, then by all means go ahead.

If you're ready to carry the weight of the word for better or worse, then by all means go ahead.

If you understand that you may be characterized specifically by your usage - and subsequently your ownership - of all the context and history of that word and all derivatives of it, colloquial or otherwise - then by all means go ahead.

But if you can't do all of that, or you think you can just walk away from it like "hey, it's just a word" or "if I shouldn't say it, then no one should" or any of the things that make it easy to run away from what it means when you say it and you aren't the people who are called that word maliciously...then just don't say it. There are a billion other words you can use. Just know that this one's not for you if you have to ask "is this word for me".

And now, let's have this thread get back on topic and NOT be about what you can say/not say to or around minorities. Let's have it be about how this chick got leaned over like Garry's Mod

[EDIT: YES.GIF @ Htown]

I feel so bad for those kids. It's gonna take a lot of effort on their part to unlearn whatever their parents taught them.

Did this thread really just turn into a discussion on why/what's the purpose of the N word? The word's not going anywhere. We won't stop using it in public and other races won't stop using it behind closed doors.

I sometimes forget how powerful the influence of American music/television is. I don't think the word "nigga" is going away at this point.

Here's a question. Why don't you stop trying to figure out what you can get away with calling a black person? Y'all are coming at this from the wrong direction.

Ok, I got a question.

Why do so many black people call white people white boys? It's not really racist, but I detect a hint of derision behind it. People would look at me funny if I went around calling blacks black boys. "Yo, sup black boy?"

Of course it did.

I got a better question. How come every thread we have that contains a black person acting stupid turns into a referendum on the black race as a whole and why we supposedly do what we supposedly do?

And sometimes people don't need to act out on impulse, or say things in public that may be offensive to others.

White boy is racist. White boi is a term of respect highlighting a person of European decent who has earned his strips by growing up facing the same struggles as those of African/ Hispanic decent in the ghettos of America. Or one who has an addiction of some sort that purchases their "product" from people of color. I'm not a scientist and this post is in no way factual. It is however how i've perceived the term growing up in the south.
