I managed to take down the first boss with the hammer chick, is that an accomplishment? It felt so fucking slow and clunky, yet powerful.

Final version supports the circle pad pro. When you start up the demo it says it doesn't support the Circle Pad Pro. Is the final game different?

Yes, I'm going digital for 3DS too. I want this game with me wherever I take my 3DS.So guys... digital or physical?
I'm for sure getting it digital for the 3DS. Not sure about Wii U yet.

Just used the hunting horn for the first time and thank goodness for that digital manual is all I got to say. That being said the horn is a beast, it and the bow are my favorite additions to the game so far.
And because it can't be stressed enough, all newcomers to the series really should take a look at that manual.
Yeah I thought it was different, didn't know they actually made changes.Oh wow, they revamped the hell out of the LS. I still hate it, but at least you don't go straight from red to nothing.
Never played a MH game before, have played the WiiU demo a couple of times last night and must admit, it's growing on me.
Only beat the easy enemy so far with the twin blade and long sword, will take a look at the harder one tonight.
Just have a couple of questions -
Is there any point to the other, smaller enemies that are wandering around? Will you get items or anything from them in the full game?
Are the battles timed in the full game?
Those small monsters are there to annoy the crap out of you while you're focusing on the larger monster. Especially so if you're gunning. Is there any point to the other, smaller enemies that are wandering around? Will you get items or anything from them in the full game?
What is the purpose of not allowing the L and R buttons to move the camera around?
This is a very impressive game for the system as it seems. Is it 60fps with the 3D on or is it my idea?
Dual Blade IS the weapon for beginners, eh? It didn't punish button mashing too much. Beat the Lagombi just in the 10 minutes mark. Next I'm going to try the longsword.
Don't hate on me, and bear in mind my entire experience of this franchise is the one go at the demo I just had, but...
...is there more to this game than just mashing X or A to chop and slice? Chasing a monster around a map trying to keep up with it long enough to make a hit with one of just two attack options got tedious after 15 minutes.
I love big game worlds and I've always heard how stunning those of MH are. I know the games are almost unanimously adored so I'm not hating on it, I just want to understand it better in the hope if getting into it. It sure looks like a game I want to enjoy.
Pretty much. High movement and attack speed really make the game "easy mode" compared to other weapons I've tried, but it has the drawback of having to be extremely close range which I guess isn't as desirable for some monsters.
Edit: Wii U version for me, I know I will get bored with this game easily without online.

Never played a monster hunter game before, tried the demo on 3DS and the WiiU and I think I might actually get both.
Playing with other people online sounds like it could be a blast, and these twenty minute missions would be great for my train journey to uni everyday.

Or kill the monster in 20 mins.
The actual in-game quest timer is 50 minutes, I believe. Maybe you could take a slower train...![]()
But is 50 minutes really needed?
The rabbit thing is easy to kill in under twenty minutes and the shark dragon fish thing (the designs in this game are awesome I must say) is apparently doable in 20 minutes and that's hard.
also, the weapons given in the demo are all reasonably powerful, you'll not likely have anything as good the first time you encounter either of those monsters.
