NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

Haha, it's this:

THE BUILD BEGINS

Yeah.

Nvidia knows what it's doing. AMD is dumb and should be doing the same thing (halo product). People buy it. Unless they consider the Ares II their 'halo'?

So I think I've settled in on my SLI GPU core offset...+109. This gives me a boost of 1163mhz for the SC Titan, and 1124 on the Vanilla Titan. If I even raise the offset to +116, I craise in Heaven whereas it has yet to crash at +109. My vanilla Titan got up to +181 on gpu offset :(

So now I'm just working on the mem offset...currently at +169 on that.

It's given me a 5 fps boost in Heaven 4. @ 2560x1600. Stock clocks I hit an average of 63 fps, with the above mentioned OC I'm at 68.3.

By the way, even 2-Way SLI Titans still struggles with Crysis 3 at 2560x1600p.
Frame rate hovers well over 60 fps in many situations, but there also are many places where frame rate dips down to 30s and 40s.
This is with Crysis 3 at Very High + SMAA M-GPU (which basically is SMAAx4). I haven't tried TXAA, yet. But I'm sure it'll be worse than SMAA, performance-wise.

Curious ... is there any chance your CPU is bottlenecking your cards?

EDIT: Also... who's gonna be the cool cat that matches mkenyon's $300 4GB 670 Superclocked deal from a few weeks ago? :) I'm on the hunt!

I very much doubt it. It's at 1600p resolution which is very GPU-bound. (fillrate hit) Plus, GPU usage is 98~99% pretty much all the time. There are places where GPU usage drops down to 40~50% but this is well known performance issue with Crysis 3 (rope physics, many people claim)
I need a third Titan for a 3-Way SLI.

So far Very High everything, TXAA High @ 2560x1600 stock clocks is giving me about 30-35fps. Hasn't gone below 30. GPU usage on both Titans in the 97-99% range.

I'll give it a try. Scared to exit out of the game lol

BTW with my previous post TXAA High my VRAM usage is at 3GB

edit: fucking swinging ropes are bringing the titans to their knees

Really? Even at Very High? Right now it's hovering between 57-62 for me. SMAA x2. Actually it says SMAA MGPU (2X).

I'm on the stage after disabling 'Project X' if you've made it that far.

Going to try and start the game up again (fingers crossed) with FRAPS

.

Those were my experiences with it...sounds pretty similar to yours.

A guy at OCN did some benchmark comparisons with overclocked 680 SLI vs. overclocked Titan SLI.
(I seem to recall this guy did some interesting PCI-E 2.0 vs. PCI-E 3.0 comparison benchmarks on 680 4-Way SLI early last year.)

Overall about 34% average improvement over overclocked 680 SLI.

Is 1137MHz really all they could get out of it? the difference clock for clock must be massive.

Got my NV surround setup back up. From the little that I played (will get back to this in a moment), SLI Titans run games in 5760x1080 beautifully. Max Payne 3 maxed out with 4x MSAA I was over 60 fps the majority of the time. I think it hit 50s a few times but still. Ran threw that game. In Crysis 3 Ultra preset 2x SMAA....40-45 fps. Amazing...

...When I can fucking play. Games crashing is really killing my vibe of wanting to mess with these. Never had an issue before in my couple of years of owning different cards, and I get these and I'm getting crashes. Now it's even better because when it happens on triple monitors they all go black. No ctrl alt del here...it does nothing.

Spend 2k..get rewarded with game crashes.

Interesting. Is it possible performance gains will be substantial with driver updates later on? Or should we expect these numbers to stay fairly similar.

If so the 680 sli is not a bad deal (minus the memory for those at higher resolutions and wanting to down sample).

I think the numbers should stay pretty similar. Because Titan really isn't new architecture. It still belongs to 28nm Kepler (670/680 = GK104, Titan = GK110) line. So, driver should be already pretty mature. Plus, performance gain from further driver update should equally benefit 670/680 (GK104) as well as Titan (GK110).

OC update: I can get to +85mhz on the SC, which puts me at ~1136mhz. I seem to crash at +100mhz in the Heaven benchmark, so I'll leave it at 85 for now, which isn't too bad.

Smokey, does your card get above 71c? Mine seems capped at that, even though I have the temp target set to 82c. At that point it just throttles the mhz load back and forth to keep it around 71c, going as low as 1110. Seems a little strange, still need to read more in depth.

hey, if i was a basketball player who just signed a 5 year 120 million contract, sure i'd get sli of these for sure, to go in my mansion with olympic pool and indoor movie theater...why not?

Yeah, getting a pair of these certainly requires a job of some kind.

Yeah. I stopped using temp as the cap and switched to power @ 106. Ive never seen the card get above 99-100 though. Highest my temps have gotten is 85 when I've done this.

It's just kind of fun to see how the thread starts out at '$1000!? Are they crazy?' And ends up with lots of people buying two of them :)

Just ordered an EVGA Titan SuperClocked should get it Wednesday next week. Replacing my 2 580s which are a bit noisy these days.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a large fan version, like

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121429

I would like to get a quiet version if possible.

I like quiet too but this card is already supposed to be pretty quiet.
More than a 690 or 680

And then you could allways get a more sound proofed case like a Fractal Design case (I think thats the right name)

I got one and it was padded sound proofing in the case doors and stuff which helps.

Ok wait, I might have misread perf log and mistook GPU2 temp for utilization because I'm just getting 19% for PhysX usage now on my second Titan... XP

One of my gaming boxes has 2 SLI'd 680s and a Sandy i7 in a Fractal Design case, and I can't hear the box at all from 6 feet away. lol

Yeah, I have a Fractal Design case, and it is so quiet now, I really don't want to go louder. But that's encouraging that it is quieter.
