Ironman should be higher and Morrigan lower.
 
Seeing that Esports thread with 250k in the title makes me weep a bit more about the loss of IPL. We were finally going to get dat Esports money. Definitely not a quarter of a million, but it would have been much higher than anything we normally see at Majors. Hopefully someone can phoenix down IPL and we can see Capcom fighters x Esports finally become a reality.
 
Okay, so SFxT is apparently pretty cheap now at Gamestop. Someone try to persuade me to jump back into it, since I wasn't too wild on it before. For $20 new or $17 used I may give it another shot.

Real talk, it was BAD at it's launch, the game had great things, some good mechanics, but the bad things were REALLY bad, so bad that it overcame most of the good stuff.
In v2013 they heard the complains and got rid of 90% of all bullshit it had.
I'm seeing a lot of people that didn't like (hated) the game before and now are having tons of fun, also some people that still don't like, but that's life ^^

So what did get improved on exactly that makes it better?

Jab pressure is gone, red life recovers very slowly, making time outs way less frequent, and when they happen, both characters are almost dying, rolls are not invincible anymore, so you don't have that free "out of the jail" card when you are on the corner, pandora is not useless anymore (it's hard to land, but it's doable), etc

Throws start up faster, and take away red life. Chain combos are unsafe on block now a few other ones. Someone should just post the changelog for him.

Well those do sound better, but I still have two things I'm wondering about. Does time run during cinematic supers, and did they do anything to make gems a little more fair?

Yes, time still runs during cinematics, but the time over issue had (almost) nothing to do with it. And supers aren't that usefull, you usually wanna save the meter for safe tag's and alpha counters.

About gems, now you have 5 combinations of three gems to choose before the fight, one with 3 damage gems, one with 3 defense gems, one with 3 meter gems, one with 3 pandora gems and the last preset has 1 damage gem, 1 defense gem and 1 meter gem (I think so). So if you don't care about gems, just pick one preset that fits your style and go on.
And the assist gems, the ones that block for you, are useless now, they consume a lot of meter.

Morrigan should be in her own tier at the bottom most. Doom should also be way lower, he puts me in ResidentSleeper mode almost as much as Morrigan.

Dante should be way higher as a stylish Dante always brings the hype. Strange and Storm should be higher. Dorm lower. Firebrand should be lower too because there is nothing hype about watching Firebrand unblockable set up your entire team.

Morrigan shouldn't be ResidentSleeper in my opinion. At the least, not Chris's Morrigan, but I'm a biased party :P

I agree with most of your other opinions, except Dante and Storm. I don't find Storm all that exciting in the slightest, and the only time Dante is hype for me is when he's doing crazy combos I've never seen with moves I rarely see-- but that's rare in most cases.

Cap should definitely be higher too, at least in my opinion. And you could probably bump up Tron a bit, I know I was getting hype at Rikir's Tron during Winter Brawl.
 
Cap is more boring and straightforward than most of the top tiers. The most hype thing about him is that he's an American character.

Storm has classy movement, swag combos and sexy mix ups.
 
tron should be way higher on that tier list. she is really exiting to watch when people have great set ups with her.

How on earth is Yipes' Dante not hype? I hate Dante and he gets me hype.
Dormammu is sure as hell not hype either. He's very formulaic.
Half of this is just a list of "characters I don't see often" vs. "characters I see a lot".

I don't get finding Phoenix un-hype. Dark Phoenix battles are intense.

I do think that hype comes out of situations, and not characters, though. Any character has the potential to be hype or boring.
