Fighting Games Weekly | March 4-10 | The Empire Strikes Black

1st ATK|HELIX|EMP INFRIT!

Dude can go to EMP, doesn't matter to me. Maybe people will pay more attention to him if he's tied to EMP too.

Glad to hear Abegen is coming to Final Round alongside some of the other Japan players. Abegen's team is great and I loved watching him play at FGTV last year pre-Evo. I'm sure he might have a tough time considering US is now starting to become Vergil territory, but it'll be interesting to see nonetheless.

Ok this joke is getting old now. Every one knows that no one ACTUALLY likes that stuff
What joke? Also bad timing when he just dropped this fire.

Question: Why would you guys be upset if Yipes went back to EMP?
I wouldn't be upset, whatever the player feels is best for them, but I don't see why he'd do it considering the brand he built with BT. I guess I thought the same for Dieminion though, but he built less with them and I guess money talked a bit louder. Maybe if Yipes needs money to pay for that wedding he'll do it.

Plus we already know its not Yipes. Likely Ino at this point.

Probably about a 1/3 of his songs are like that, though maybe not as great as that one. So exception, but still he has classics.

Classic.
Classic.
Classic.

He can actually rap.. just for obvious reasons he decides to use his more popular style more.

I wouldn't call that first one, Givin Up, great at all. He's got a problem sticking to the meter of his rhyme. Kinda like an early Kweli, only it actually detracts from the song. Birth of Rap was cool though, with no signs of the aforementioned problem either. Still going through the other two.

But yea, didn't realize he could actually spit. I guess hip hop ain't dead yet. Kappa

Yipes situation is this. Yipes 101.
IFC Yipes was with EMP for majority of his fighting game career. He fell in love with a fellow EMP member. Being the gentleman he is, Yipes wanted the best of her, for them, in which Triforce nor EMP could provide at the time. Truth is, Triforce did provide all the basic necessities for them but as kids grow older, they eventually want and need other things in which their parents cannot provide. Yipes finally ran into a rich white guy (LOL) who could help him build a foundation for the future for him and his love. Things are going nice and dandy for however long to the point where even his love had left EMP. There was no need for her to be with them as Yipes had something going for himself. Yipes is one of a very few group of people in which the community universally loves.
As life turns out. You never forget where you come from. Period. The love of his life knew that in case of anything, she needed to go back to EMP as it turns out the foundation of their future was in fact always there and not elsewhere. A woman's intuition. A house can burn down but as long as you have each other, it can always be rebuilt.
Now. Fast forward to recent times. Triforce with fate and some say dumb luck, ran into a benefactor who shared the same vision. Triforce, being the almighty father figure to EMP, can finally do certain things for his kids in which he could never. As Yipe's love presided in EMP, it was only a matter of time before Triforce can finally approach his short lost son and be the kind of father to him he deserves. Even with their separation, Triforce was always praising Yipes and was very critical in how these so called other father figures takes care of their kids.
Yipes wants to take the bond between his love and himself to the final stage as there is no better time. And what better way to celebrate that special occasion than with the rebirth of an empire? And today, it will be cemented that Yipes is back with EMP. :)

Oh and Tupac was and always will be the best rapper.

Skullgirls has raised over £200,000 in the past two weeks. That's bonkers.

BTW I bet it's not Yipes or Infrit. It'll be somebody relatively unknown.

Yeah, his stream of conscious rap leads him to not really care much for flow, there's a bit of that in B.O.R. too, but yeah like everything else he does, it's spotty. When you put out literally every song you make, which no other artist does, it's tough to judge him as a whole. He has thousand song mixtapes, and that's not an inflated number. It also helps he arguably has one of the best ears for beats and one of the best producers in hip hop today (Clams Casino) behind his back. I still mess with Bill Bellamy, Ellen Degeneres and Look Like Jesus, etc. though.

still waiting on the instrumental to this

EDIT: Due to high GAF demand, Eventhubs releases iOS app.

Yipes is still friends with a lot of the EMP guys so him going back would make sense but I like what he help make with BT with clothing and tournament.

Yeah. They seem to stream a lot more. Valle has been doing his Rushdown live thing and a variety of small tournies use level up as the stream. Sp00ky only does majors along with Battle Circuit. The house streams are once in a blue moon these days. But if you factor in the EVO streams numbers (easily 6 million+ total views between the two) because Sp00ky did them and the possibility of 1.5 million+ total views of Season's beatings if Sp00ky would have done that, Sp00ky still has far higher numbers.

Oh. Twitch is supposed down for maintenance in about 2 hours and who knows how long it will be down. Projected time was an hour something. Hopefully it doesn't affect anything.

When his main competition is Biggie, yeah it's hard to see why anybody would think otherwise.

lol no

I personally think pac is better than Biggie, but not by much. Mostly because his backlog is more consistent and more numerous than Big. In terms of flow, rhymes, and delivery not a single rapper alive or dead is better than Biggie.

Level up just surpassed the Sp00ky stream as the most watched FGC channel.
Congrats to Offcast and company.... but i will always be IPW | TS | Fersis at heart.

FIGHTAN GAEMES

He's a legend, but there are more talented rappers with better libraries.
If we're talking library consistency, then neither Pac or Big (hard to judge) hold up really. Cube, maybe. As a whole, I think most of Pac's albums are not very consistent. There's no way I could see Big as the better rapper though, he shines in technical excellence, but not much else. Pac's content, approach to rhyming and him being more than just a rapper is what makes him outshine Biggie's legacy to me, and it's not like Pac didn't have technical excellence either. It's always been an unfair comparison though, considering the massive discrepancy in the amount of work that's been put out from both of them.

The rapper with the most consistent library is Kanye. No other legend can fuck with his output. Maybe time will treat him worse, but I doubt it, the only thing time has revealed is Graduation is his weakest effort. But he's not in the running for best rapper ever because of the lack of technical skills for most of his career.

This was the track that first made me think "Okay, maybe he's not a total joke character."
Same.
