Chrono Trigger tribute's all over the place today

This one isn't half bad though

http://richiebranson.com/2013/coming-soon-guardia/

Official single from Richie Branson's upcoming Chrono Trigger inspired album "From Guardia With Love"
YOUTUBE "From Guardia With Love"

Ok that was good.

Chrono Jigga is beyond awful but this is actually original and well done.

It feels like Chrono Jigga is just a publicity stunt to get the "nerd" crowd.

From Guardia with Love actually had some soul to it.

couldnt agree more

This is the star of the thread right here. Wonderful!

Another good one by him: Richie Branson ft. Random (Mega Ran) - #SuperNintendoSegaGenesis

Having heard From Guardia with Love literally a few seconds after discovering this page, I was really disappointed.

Although I should'nt have expected anything truly original to begin with.

Thanks for the Mega ran link!

Parallax

best seen in the classic "Shadow of the Beast"
I heard this French Montana song on the radio the other day that samples the main theme from Kingdom Hearts 2 and I laughed so much. It was very earnest.

Rap producers really do love sampling 90s RPGs though, there's gotta be a dozen examples by now.

I heard that shit and started busting up laughing. So crazy

Only Wiz song that isn't utter garbage.

I first heard that playing from a car on the street. My jaw hit the floor when I recognized the beat.

Also, that Mario Deep album kind of shows why this is poorly produced. It's just the lyrics pasted over time-adjusted beats. That Mario Deep stuff is remixed.

"An Encore In Time" is SOOOOOOOOO fucking good!

My favorite trigger track paired with one of my favorite Jay verses is as magical as I thought it'd be.

What's the name of the song?

I think it's pretty good, I listened to Masamune Problems.

I didn't know I wanted this.

Agreed, I didn't think this was worth listening to, but after the first 2 tracks I thought it was pretty good. I never knew I wanted my Hip Hop mixed with my gaming. I need to hear Childish Gambino with some zelda/mario tracks.

All rappers are really closet nerds.

Yes, alot of them are actually.

Some of them are more open, kanye west being kinda a weeaboo, and well DOOM.

mfdoom.jpg

Oh he is, he just doesn't rap about anything. And that why i cant really listen to him anymore, just money money money.

I can give Mr. West a listen because occasionally he will rap about other things than himself, quite often. HE used to to do it ALOT MORE ( cough first 3 albums) but he still is doing better than jay-z in the, i have other things to rap about than me having money and possible organized crime connections department. Though jay-z i could believe have possible illegal doings more than others, a Mr.Ross comes to mind, is a wonder how a blatant liar can sell albums, and not just a persona kinda thing, just strait up liar.

Hahaha this Crazy in Love x Gato track is pretty stupid

This is no Ocarina of Rhyme though.

No, but few is. Even Team Teamwerk has trouble recapturing the magic of Ocarina of Rhyme.

This is pretty interesting though. it's not the worst thing I've ever heard. Lot of little niggling problems here and there but over all, it's somewhat solid (he said 2 minutes into the first song).

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
At work, so can't link to Youtube, but look up Afrojack's uncannily-FF8-Dollet-mission-like music.

There's a video interview of Afrojack and you see him in a plane playing Triple Triad on his laptop.

Thanks for posting the link. As someone who loves CT and is ambivalent towards Jay-Z, absolutely digging the combination.

Also really digging the various links to the other mixes, and holy fuck @ the Richie Branson - #BringBackChrono (All I Had), so awesome. :)
