Dragon's Crown to re-emerge next week

There's a teaser on the site which says "2013.3.21 EVENING", and the Atlus Twitter account confirms that there will be a preview in next week's Famitsu which is out on the same day. I think we'll be getting a release date and some solid info about the game finally.

We got a trailer like a month back during the "New Information about PSVita" presentation. That was only like 30 seconds though.

Yeah, I figured it'd be next week since we're halfway through March with nothing still. Guessing that Amazon date for the US is legit.

Yessss, finally! Hopefully it's cross buy (if that hasn't been confirmed yet). I've been so eager to hear more.

...I'd probably buy it a second time at the right price anyway.

I'll be happy to finally get some solid info and a release date. Been looking forward to it since it was revealed.

So hyped for this. The Capcom Dungeons and Dragons games are my absolute favorite side-scrolling beat 'em ups. None of the other challengers people bring up are even close for me. Dragon's Crown looks a lot like a spiritual successor to those games and I couldn't be happier.

It was confirmed to not be Cross-Buy IIRC.

That's too bad. I'll definitely pick it up on PS3 first for multiplayer, but there's no way I could deny myself this game's visuals on the Vita.

Edit: Kinda off topic, but Muramasa is still releasing in JP this month, right? Was there ever a NA date announced?

I have a strange suspicion that it's no longer playstation exclusive.

Would definitely go Wii U/Vita if I had the option (assuming there was off-TV play). Not sure what gives you that suspicion though, unless it's just the delay. I'd bet on it still being exclusive.

Cross-buy wasn't a thing when Atlus pulled DC off Ignition, but they did say that it wasn't financially feasible for the game to retail at $30. Which is enough to assume that cross-buy for this is a no-go.

Muramasa Rebirth does come out this month in Japan. I believe it has a vague "Fall" release window in North America.

This is going to be a real spiritual sequel to shadow over mystara that I have waited for over a decade. My body is ready.

It still irks me how in a region where Vita is on life support, game releases are still 'meh it will come out eventually'.

Naaah, 100% it's still a Playstation exclusive, I don't see the reason for porting this title to other platforms.

One of the guys at Aksys posts to GAF. They said when they first announced the localization deal that they had basically just made it and had no real idea when it would be done at that point. It's not like they're being all blasé about it.

I want to know what happened behind the scenes that delayed it for so long.

I don't think there was any reason other than Vanillaware being a company of like 20 people, and the game being more ambitious than their previous projects, which already took several years to make each.

If I may add, King of Fighters XIII took more than a year to develop, and it has really good animations, so the same reason may be behind why the game took so long to develop.

Ignition promising/announcing elements that the developer didn't even know about certainly didn't help

When we took over the reins, we realized that a lot of the information made available to the public was ambitious and unfounded conjecture. The release timing, the pricing, and many of the features detailed for fans and members of the press were simply unknowable at the time they were disseminated (and frankly we were quite shocked to find out that many of the details were made public unbeknownst to even the developers).

Getting this on PS3 when it comes out. Have they mentioned if the PS3 version is 1080p? Not that it would change my mind if it wasn't, I'd get it on PS3 regardless to fully enjoy it on my TV.

excited

really curious about the structure of the game

Is it truly D&D3 or is it 2D Monster Hunter?

or something inbetween

I'm really happy that we'll finally get new info. Doubt it will be cross-buy anymore. It might not even come out on just Sony consoles.

I am indeed looking forward to seeing more of Boobwitch and Friends.
