Okay, TeamCG. Come own up to your foolishness. #trolljima

Is Joakim Mogren CG?

Looking at that .gif in the OP if it's CG it's crazy how far facial animations have come. It looks pretty real to me?

This can't be CG, it really can't be.

At the end of this gif he's saying "We don't have anything to show today unfortunately." At that same moment he looks directly at the camera/audience. That would be a coy and hilarious thing for him to say if he was CG and made with the Fox Engine.

Rewatched the interview to catch that.

Is that a stretch? Of course.

OPEN YOUR EYES ALREADY!

Where is his tongue? Does he even have one? I just spoke a sentence to myself and noticed I open my mouth and expose my tongue to the masses.

Joakim doesn't whatsoever.

Tech and visual software companies have computers much, much, much more powerful than a PS4, yet they haven't released anything nearly as realistic as this "CG" man. It isn't CG.

I was reading an article about some of the stuff Weta were coming up with a while back and the most staggering part is that yeah photorealisitc imagery is getting closer but the rendering times are astronomical. Here's an example, they have a render farm of around 4,000 HP Blades which pump out about 8-9 gigs worth of data a second! That's just processing still frames mind and not in real time. Some how I don't think a PS4 is quite that meaty.

last bit is actual footage

actual footage of a model with a shit ton of make up so basically her face cant wrinkle at all

right. what i'm asking is, is there any bit that is cg without all the obvious cg overlays (specular, wireframe, etc)? hard to say how nice it matches real life when they don't show a direct comparison.

She has exactly the same mouth. Teeth don't open to expose the tongue. Wrap her in bandages, improve the eyes. Boom, done.

Huh? Emily's mouth is very fake looking to me. Not even close to looking the same as Joakim. Also you can see Joakim's tongue in places.

You can barely see it throughout the interview, the inside of his mouth is like a black hole. When Geoff speaks you can see flesh and saliva and such, Mogren has an abyss.

They haven't?

The Emily demo is... flawed, yes, but the bandages on Joakim seem to cover up most of the problem areas on Emily pretty effectively.

yeah watch the full video, it's posted above

Her teeth are exactly the same in that they remain closed. Her lips don't move the same as Joakim's whilst talking because that is actually physically impossible.

Hence she is actually a little more realistic albeit still talking clearly with clenched teeth.

i did. looks like cg.

thanks for the link

not only does it look like CG but that video is basically a CG coat of paint above a girl's face

she's the one acting, they just throw a wireframe in there and render her face with computerz

what'd be the point of doing that here? the PS4 could not pull it off in real time, nor it would be indicative in any way of what a videogame engine could do

I dont even understand the principle
