What is your PS3?

I use it to download Vita titles from PS+ ahead of picking up a Vita when a console and decent sized memory card will cost me sub £150.

And.. nothing else.

It's my backlog machine and also my party machine (singstar, Buzz, Vidzone). I don't use it for streaming anymore as that is all done through my TV so I don't need to fire up a seperate device for that.

It's my primary gaming console, my HD-Recorder (which is awesome) since I the bought "playTV"-Extension and my BluRay-Player.

I'd say it's the mediaHub in my flat, and I love it.

- Console exclusives
- Blu-ray
- Netflix

Just about sums it up. Since getting back into PC gaming I'm using consoles less and less. I even sold my 360 because I haven't played a game on it since Deadly Premonition.

PS3 is still a gaming machine primarily, DVD and Blu-Ray players second, 3D movie player third thanks to the invention of glasses free. Also a space heater, because it's never not a space heater when turned on.

Wii/Wii U are game machines, no reason otherwise. You crazy nations with your Netflix.

Xbox 360 is a XBLA machine for me. Yoga exercise for my girlfriend.

Zeebo, for oddity purposes.

It plays exclusive titles, and HD remake titles, and the occasional third person game that I don't feel like getting on steam.

SO a secondary gaming platform I guess.

Journey is the last PS3 game I played though I recently started Godhand so it's almost always exclusives and PS2 games since I have a launch 60GB model.

2012 was a weak year for the system IMO, 2013 looks way better with Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, Hotline Miami, Lone Survivor, Guacamelee & The Last Of Us.

PC is my primary platform as I dont have PS3 here in college.

However at home its my primary games console, I have about 30-40 games on it. Mostly amazing exclusives like GT5,Journey, Wipeout, Sound Shapes, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, The Darkness, Killzone 2 & 3 - its so good!
Sometimes a Crash/Spyro retro machine.
Thinking about upgrading the HDD again and getting in on PSN+, most of the games there seem interesting.

Also it is our main video player, both Blu-Ray and movie files. (Sometimes DVD, upscaling looks suprisingly good) Sometimes youtube.
Wish it had .srt support but hey, it works great still. Blu-Ray still wows me, at night on a plasma it is bliss.

Shame there is no svtplay plugin, it used to work in the browser.

Media: Primary source for Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime/Local Streaming

Games: Pretty much a few exclusives and all the Playstation Plus Instant Games I can download. I really need to work on that backlog.

Music: Music Unlimited/Sense Me while cleaning/cooking/etc

Blu Ray: The fiance likes the quality of blu ray, so when possible we order a blu ray if its worth waiting in the mail for it.

I miss playing around with Linux on my PS3. :(

Don´t have enough time to game but here I am with also a Wii U, 3DSXL and my PS3.

Currently I play my Wii U/PS3 combo. On the PS3 currently playing ME 1.

Have a backlog for it: ME1, ME2, Uncharted 3, Batman AA, Ratchet ACiT, Dead Space 2, Infamous, NBA 2K13, Fifa 13.

I want to replace my PS3 with a gaming PC but I am divided about it. I think I can still squeeze a lot from it (the PS3 library is huge) with games that are not compromised on consoles and old classics like RDR, GoW Ascension, Dead Space 3, etc.
On the other hand for several multiplats now, it is if like some games could be considered exclusive for PC, given how they run or look on consoles, like for example:

Far Cry 3
Bioshock Infinite
Battlefield 3
Crysis 3
Tombraider

So what should I do Gaf?

Ps3 is my gaming console and mediabox.

Gave away my Wii in 2010 and my X360 in 2011. I always end up with just one console at the end of a gen.

In future my ps4 will become a tool box where i will keep my tools.

On a serious note no it has not become anything else and its the same old thing which it used to be and i love it. There is no need of another box as far i am concerned.

At this moment in time it's not my primary machine due to picking up some more Zelda games and playing OoT/MQ/MM/SS/WW and probably TP (again), but yeah, it still gets use. I have a bit of a PS+ and disc-based backlog, so it will keep me going for a while yet.

Given my awful PC spec, it's also my Netflix and Blu-Ray machine.

It´s my primary console now. Early/Mid last year I pretty much stopped playing my 360 and started spending more time on the PS3 and Vita. Being an XBL subscriber since 2003 I´ve lost a lot of the enjoyment of playing online due to quality and lack of voice chat on team games and I really hate the whole online structure, but it´s ended up being my favorite console this gen. I think mainly because of the amount of exclusives.

Netflix and all that other jazz isn´t available to me so it is and always will be primarily a gaming machine.

Just finished Ni no Kuni last month and has been used heavily for Netflix streaming of late. But got a YLOD on Tuesday night. So long, launch 60Gweek PS3. I will miss you.

First-party games and Blu-Ray player. All third party stuff I play on my 360.

As a Blu-Ray player it's bloody slow though.
