I am too dumb to know how to link videos, but I loved the trailer for Breakdown on the Xbox. Driving music, the promise of playing as a powerful "last hope of mankind" hero protagonist, and a badass girlfriend sidekick. It hit all the right notes for teenager me all those years ago.
I also really liked the Announce trailer for the new Marathon from two years back (even though the near-final game they just showed off looks kinda bland, cheap & underwhelming by comparison):
Looking back on these, many are very much about the music.
Edit: Probably should've gone through the thread before posting, seems most of these have been covered already..
This is one of the most underrated racing games about imo (or at least, not covered anywhere near enough). NFS Shift Unleashed 2 & Driveclub are my north stars of driving games.
In which case, I'd add the Driveclub reveal trailer too for a similar approach:
And just on the racing + Evolution Studios front, Motorstorm:
Plus an honourable mention for The Crew's trailers:
Man, I just get awash with nostalgia when I see and hear this.
I just wish they found a way to carry on with it and had made some better choices with Catalyst too, the character design change felt pointless (even with it being first person) and my main gripe from an atmosphere standpoint is dropping the "Still Alive" track heard here, it kind of became the core theme by default and I think they would have done well to still feature it with some variations; or built on it, deriving similar sounds. It was a key part of the game's vibe and it's lack of presence was really felt. I'd kill for a fleshed out and refined, path-traced remake/remaster of the original game going into the next generation. It's the perfect game for the treatment.
Whoever made this trailer did their homework on what the fans wanted and presented it in the best way possible. They nailed the order of characters shown in this one.
I don't really watch trailers anymore, but the one I will never forget, and actually go back to watch from time to time is the goated announcement trailer for the crew:
