Smh.plus guys being idiots is a british culture thing,
Can you find a video of that or are you talking out your ass?
I wonder who got suspended and fined. At least they have repercussions .
Top level NBA players, it's exactly what you expect:

I completely agree. The problem lies with the presentation, it could have easily been done tasteful and if you're kicked out of a comp for being a douche, I'm sure you won't be the next time. Although the NBA video I linked surely doesn't prove my point, haha!

This is also fairly entertaining, only in this case it's only one guy doing the shouting. (rotk) He is fairly infamous in the Dota scene for being very.. vocal at LAN events. I believe he's somewhat of an anomaly, most other (professional) Dota players are fairly well-mannered, especially in the Asian scene.
Smh.
Swearing and acting like in idiot in a public arena representing a name that is not your own is not ok how ever in the comfort of your own home playing Mortal Kombat it is because you are not representing a team or tournament are encouraging this public image.Totally. And we have no idea about repercussions of the COD matches. I'm not saying there's going to be, but I stand by my point that it's the venue and producers that govern the action, these are kids playing videogames ... when I was 17 I cussed and yelled at the screen. Of course it was Mortal Kombat II and Kung Lao totally fucking cheated!
Never heard of 'lad culture'? It's unfortunately pervasive in Britain.
How's is this any different that any competitive sport?
I would think that any audience for a football match would make these look like little angels.
Coming from a Pro PC gamer this is what happens when you support home consoles in the competitive scene.
I think EVERYONE who follows the NBA will agree that Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace is not representative of professional basketball. That guy is known for his aggressiveness and poor sportsmanship.

competitive fps on a controller, lmao.
They are the players not the audience. They are repping a name.Gonna have to agree there. It was clear that they were hyping each other up to do better and trying to mentally undermine the other team.
that said, I would not ever want to play a game with these people.
It's a culture thing. Although there is a wide variety of people playing each game, there is often a dominating culture surrounding that game. PC gaming is not immune to this asshatery (see: Dota 2 at The International with "get on my level ho").
team deathmatch is esports now?
in my pov, there is only place for 1 on 1 or round based matches.
I suspected it'd be that Pistons-Pacers brawl before clicking the link. That came scarily close to turning into a riot, and I don't think describes the typical heated moments in physical sports.
Can we please stop it with this PC gaming elitism? It just makes PC gamers look bad.
Yes they are less strenuous. Saying that they aren't makes me think that you've never actually played a sport. Having someone push you to the ground every other minute or constantly putting their hands in your face and causing you physical harm is
undoubtedly more stressful then sitting in a chair and someone shooting virtual bullets at you.
And again, I'm sure professional chess players are extremely invested in big money
tournaments, but that doesn't mean when
the lose they flip the table over and act like a dick.
And as other people have said, when professional athletes lose their shit this bad
they're held accountable, either through suspension or a fine. There's a difference between a little shit talking and getting so
angry that you literally can't form words correctly. These people are just acting like assholes.
Obviously real sports are more physically stressful, I'm speaking in terms of mental stress.Have YOU played an esport at a competitively high-level? You can't claim to know which is more mentally stressful without playing both at a reasonably high level. I didn't want to come off like I did either, just giving trying to give these players the benefit of the doubt . And you don't get that cursing in chess because chess players are usually a more educated and self aware group of people who know that they are in an environment where that type of behavior if frowned upon, and can suppress their emotions trough discipline and logical discourse, not to mention bad sportsmanship there is probably actively enforced against too; The people in this video on the other hand are still developing teenagers in a league that's probably still developing too, really, what did you expect from them?

This thread is a perfect example look at all the hate for these kids. Would any of you watch anything like this for entertainment? I sure as hell wouldn't.
As I don't think this video is a proper representation of eSports. Just saying it goes both ways. You see what you want to and a majority in this thread are seeing this video as a representation of eSports, or console players, or whatever fits their perfect little picture.
Shit, I haven't even played CoD since MW2 because I think the general online populace (across all mediums) leaves a lot to be desired.

Oh, I myself don't think that CoD video is representative of esports. I do think behavior like that is more prevalent in the console crowd, though, but all I have to go off of that is personal experience and guesswork. I imagine lower barrier of entry plays a big part, among other things.
Fat ginger turd needs a punch.
"Get on my level ho" was moonmeander at the end of HoN tourny (dreamhack?). I don't think anything interesting like that happened at the International. With Dota2 however the "official" russian commentators and Tobiwan have done some stupid immature things.
No they are trying win a pot of prize money at any mean necessary.
Whether is entertaining or not is besides the point. You shouldn't be watching the players, you should be watching the game.
That is the biggest issue I have with the esports format. It's is trying to follow the model of professional sports in trying to create celebrities.
I don't give a fuck what HaLOSucks941 looks like or how he reacts to his game. I care about his skill in the game.
If you must do interviews afterward then fair enough but as far as I'm concerned, esports coverage should be aboutte games themselves, not the commentators, not the gamers.
stupid shit like watching the players shake hands and listening to beaten players go into the commentary chair after their matches are my biggest peeve with fighting game streams. Just show the game and shut the fuck up.
What is this? My God PC gamers.I'm a console + PC gamer, but it's just cute how the boys get upset hodling their controllers.
It's like riding the Tour de France on a BMX.

I think this is wrong. The reason e-sports are getting popular is because we are now able to put faces onto the players. I don't see what's wrong with following the professional sports model - if they want to be treated as a legitimate "sport" they need to present themselves as one.
