maybe an apparent Polycount... but in reality this is much better especially with the textures. Though MGS3 is up there with the top 5 best looking PS2 games.

Don't agree, MGS3 HD looked well ahead of this. Especially polygons in the characters. Like I said, it seems like they've improved it from an early gen PS2 game to a late gen one.
In any case, its cool they are making this. But the level of hype they gave it, announcing it over a year before it was shown and the accompanying standards of remasters now (Wind Waker HD) just make this seem a lot less impressive.

It's aimed at Vita specs. The visual upgrades there are not astonishing.
If both get the Int'l treatment then the price of admission is fair. Otherwise you're not missing out on much simply playing via en emulator.
I don't want to disagree with you fully, but Wind Waker's change in lighting and models (and style) created quite a commotion. Problem is you change too much and some people won't be happy, change too little and some people expect more.
Again, I'm not trying to discredit your argument, just stating observations.

Yeah. His hair sorta has this Chaos style from Sonic Adventure, as if his hair is literally animated water. It's jarring now.
The person at PAX said the Vita versions would be on "separate discs".

While true, it is a remaster. And they kind of went to an extreme with Wind Waker. Plus FFX is begging for an overhaul in lighting much more than Wind Waker

It's Twitter's built-in video service.
I know some people have issues with the 6-second vid showing up, but for me it shows up perfectly after loading. While it's only 2 seconds, looks great I think, but I might be blinded by hype here.

There is no video. Just a screenshot of Lara Croft with a button on the right telling me to download the app, which links to the iTunes store.
It takes a while, but it eventually loads a short video.
That's the first frame of the video. You don't have to download an app for it to work, that link should be playing a looped video repeated. You can pause and resume the video by clicking anywhere on it.
Again, I know it's buggy for a lot of people but it has always worked for me, unsure why.

I just opened the link in IE and it worked. The fucking thing needs to put a goddamn cookie on your drive for it to work. Fuck that.

I never did play X-2 so I will be buying this for sure. I loved X. Im actually surprised at the price, too, I thought SE would fuck it up and charge $60.
Her new breasts have more polygons than her entire model in the PS2 version!

I'm most excited for this now after seeing what they're doing with X. Proper translation for IZJS and no more variable polys depending on camera movement would be ace.

That would depend on whether Sony wants to help them localise the game into Chinese again (like they did with XIII, XIII-2 and the upcoming LR). The Japanese versions might not come with English text but who knows? I'm personally hoping for a version with Japanese voices and both subs. Real Emotion by Koda Kumi ftw!
I hope FFX/X-2 sell really well on Vita, and then somebody at square is like:
LOOK, THEY BUY RPGS.
And then somebody else is like.

For one there was a notable decreased number of scenes that uses the higher quality models. The final scenes were especially distracting. It's like they run out of budget at the end and just run with the lower polygon ones. Shuyin and Lenne didn't even have high quality models I think.

It's highly unlikely there will only be English voices available in the JP version of this. Which means they will probably use the JP voices again for the Asia release. Which means I'll be importing the Asia release if they will stick to English audio only in the North American release. It sure would be nice if Squenix used the 50 GB of space on the Blu-ray disc for dual-audio though.
We don't know for sure.

Agh, I hope they give FFX as awesome a New Game+ as FFX-2 has. It'll be weird for one game in the package to have it and not the other.
FFX is pretty much a natural fit for such a thing, anyhow. Just let people keep their equipment, their inventory, and their Sphere Grid unlocks/customizations, but reset the actual *progress* on the Sphere Grid.
Also, both games really need a Hard difficulty.

True... but still, I'd much rather have the main story actually provide a challenge.
When I played International, like many people, I got hung up on Dark Valefor blocking the rest of the optional stuff.
I actually hope they tone that down a bit, but I don't expect they will.
Well when I say HD remake I mean what you usually get - higher resolution and better textures. I wasn't expecting anything better than that, I'm just saying the difference is not as profound as a lot of people are suggesting. I'm guessing the time it's taking to produce is making some people expect better upgrades than what we typically get.
