Who in the world is penning this anime? I demand an apology now. Unbelievable.
How do you play the best song on the ost, pumping me up for Koga miraculous accessing his Light Cosmo to escape gravity and delivering a fantastic attack against Pisces, only to be stopped 20 seconds before episode end by an unfair attack, that was cruel. Hopefully Eden gets up and saves him or something

Are they just gonna roll into the next season? Seems odd to enter a new land at episode 47...

I'm back in the hype train! CHOO CHOO

Episodes 48-51 should actually be pretty enjoyable. I mean, they are all by the staff of episodes duckroll has enjoyed!

48 is by the exact staff of episode 37, 49 is by the director/storyboarder of episodes 33 and 40, 50 is by the staff of episodes 26, 36 and 45. And 51 is Umakoshi.

It's CONFIRMED. Brand new staff for the new season. Loli villain. New character designs and cloth designs.

Whoever the one in front is in blue is definitely Souma Kouga levels of Epic. I think for me it is definitely, Kouga + Eden > Soma + Blue > Haruto + Ryuho > Virgo > Kiki > Pisces Amor > Genbu + Seiya. Hopefully all the gold saints get more appearances I hope?

I stopped watching this thing like 6 episodes in. Is it worth it to go back to it?

And is that blue guy supposed to be one of the metal saints from the original series? lulz.

^
The guy with green hair looks like Saga/Canon.

EP 47 wasn't that bad. It irks me though that
Amor took out Mycaene in 1 second. And then he has been unable to deal with any of the Bronzes

So, I haven't seen a single episode of this, but I'm planning to. Is this any good?

I would say that unless you're an original Saint Seiya fan you should give it a pass. If so than watch a few eps and see if you like it.

doesn't look like they can be taken apart/reassemble still

They mentioned specifically that this new season is the "New Cloth Arc" and that they're going back to Cloth Boxes. So I think we will see some of that, and it explains all the added bulk to the new designs.

As for the robo-kid, he's a fucking Steel Saint. Yeah. Erm. Yeah. Lolz.

Man, looks like the old staff really is going all out with the final arc. The animation this week was excellent and next week looks amazing as well.

Episode 45-47

Decided to catch up on stuff again since it's been piling up. I actually watched 45 before but I already forgot how lolz some of the plot was. This series has really gone downhill fast. Mars = Chaos Batman?? Lololol. The fights were really awful and had no excitement at all. At least 47 had some nice explosions, but besides that it was just as retarded as all the episodes after 40. :(

7th says 48 is good though. Hopefully the last 4 episodes are at least somewhat satisfying for those of us who had to sit through all the other shit!

Hopefully the whole deal with Cloth Boxes is a sign for better things, hope the armors wll look better too. The steel saint looks horrible, I hope he will make minimal appearances, even less than what the steel saints did in Saint Seiya but something is telling me that we'll have to see him throughout most episodes. The little girl looks terrible as well and the only good thing in that picture is the dude on the upper left, only for looking almost identical to Saga/Kanon. I hope he will be awesome (he will probably be generic)

So can anyone tell me if this new staff for the second season is better? Can we look forward to better quality? I suck at knowing these things.

Oh and ep 47

Didn't like this episode so much but somehow I enjoyed it more than the previous one. Much more talk than action but I suppose after seeing all the shitty action sequences in the recent episodes I wanted some change. The funniest thing for me is the way they presented the end of the episode, it was atrocious:
There was no kind of indication or build-up that Koga would be using the power of light (lol). There was no excitement to it, it just appeared out of nowhere at the end to save him like 99 % of the other times. This gives me the feeling that this magical appearance of light is a natural ability he got from his training or something. So they build up the excitement for his coming Ryu Sei Ken in that short moment but only to have him defeated right away. What was the fucking point of that, making him seem stronger, using the awesome music only to kill the mood right away.

Amor catch Koga who scream in pain -> Koga breaks free with power of light > Amor catch Koga again a minute later, what?

Seriously fuck this show

48

That was all rather surprising. How in the world can everything even be resolved in the few episodes left and especially if everyone else is lacking so much in power.
As a Kouga fan it just feels so painful watching this who arc. I mean everytime he gets some boost, some way to prevail he just gets slapped with some new thing in the plot to bring him so far down. Now wholly into dark koga mode, which is just depressing, is rather intense. Who is even there to bring him out? I hope Eden can somehow mange it but with Dark Koga one hitting killing Amor, and easily blasting Soma like that, I have no hope in that. Maybe Abzu will go back and slumber?

Episode 48

Decent action, some good art this week, much better than the previous few episodes, but Amor is still a terrible character and his design is fucking ugly. No amount of good animation can salvage that. At least we're knee deep in the finale now. Next week should be really awesome. I hope the fight is as good or better than the ep40 fight because it looks like it's going to be something along those lines! Ooooh yeah!

Episode 49

Yeah! This is more like it. The art still isn't "great", but it's getting there. 49 > 48. The dark power effects are still really ugly digital stuff in this episode, but the fights are pretty decent and all the extra plot is pretty much over by now. It's hilarious how all the "main" villains in the show turned out to be total scrubs after all, and the show has now pulled off the "final villain from out of the ass" plot trope completely. Lololol.

Next week's episode looks truly AMAZING. No more crappy digital effects, everything looks nicely hand drawn, really exciting! UMAKOSHIIIIIIIIIIII!

Episode 48

This episode was pretty ok, liked it even more than the previous one. I thought the Koga and Amor art was terrible. Amor is completely useless and does not really fill any good role in the story, his design is really bad and he lacks any kind of unique personality, what a predictable simpleton. For some reason I thought Kogas body proportions looked terrible in this episode and
honestly that dark Koga version looks ugly
. The action was somewhat decent though and there was some good scenes to be had. Not a great episode but not bad. I do have to point out some things though:

1. This is a minor thing but
Soma asking how to get to another planet(Mars) in the beginning just sounded ridiculous. I know what he refers to given the context of his surrounding but it just felt so silly reading that :lol

2. This just made me laugh because it's so bad: in the scene where
Kiki and the Taurus dude (can't even bother to remember his name lol) are running up on the stairs the Taurus guy says it would take too long time to reach the top. Oh yeah, so suddenly the Gold Saints just forgot about the fact that they can move at the speed of light, yep! They have to run there at a normal human speed, they all forgot they had that super ability. You only need to remember and boast about this faster than light ability when you are against the good side, not when the ability is needed as most when you are SUPPORTING the good side.

3.
Instead of helping to send the Bronze Saints to help in the fight with Koga wouldn't it be smarter if the Gold Saints went there, considerng how much stronger they are? Yes I know this is Saint Seiya and friendship is a central theme of this series, thus the friends need to be the ones to go just like how the old one was but when you consider the fact that the Bronze saints never get stronger, despite all fights they have, despite the new abilities they learn etc. (which is another Saint Seiya thing, they have to remain weak always). you'd think the Gold Saints would be more suitable in this situation, at least their level cap is higher lol.

Oh right, I can't finish this post without mentioning these guys:
Group useless.

You people do know that Lost Canvas was done by an entirely different studio, not Toei, right? Lost Canvas is cancelled, but it had nothing to do with Omega. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the second season, if only due to the possibility of a season based on an actual sanctuary vs sanctuary war scenario, which is a rather obvious idea but both the anime and manga have always avoided it, going with bronzes vs everyone or bronzes + a few golds vs everyone.

bhaaah. what a way to bite the dust.

i know several folks that will rage hard once i tell them LC won't continue.

It's Saint Seiya. LOL, since when did Saint Seiya had a good story or believable power ups? Asspulls are the essence of Saint Seiya.

sadly the truth. when i rewatched the whole thing before Omega started, i couldn't believe how stupid most of it was.
i had hopes that Omega wouldn't be as stupid but they went even stupider lol.
and LC was the least stupid part of it, so it biting the dust is even more salt on the wound.

Saint Seiya Omega 49

The major fight was really epic and one I had looked forward to for awhile, even if it isnt truly the most ideal matchup in that regard.
Koga v Eden, or rather Yami Koga v Eden, though yet again the fight just concludes in an unexpected why. Why go through all the effort of getting the staff, and Yami Koga breaks it so easily. The light barely even affected him as he was able to just go and grab it and crush it and deliver a powerful blow to him. And for that, how in the world was everyone else unable to stand but Yuna apparently is blessed with some epic durability hack that enables her to be the lone one. I hope Eden gets some boost or final vitality to deliver a powerful blow next episode. If he can boost up, and find the strength then he might be able to bring Koga out of it.

49 is pretty enjoyable.

I'm not exactly a follower of the previous SS, but is
abus/abzu/apus thing an old character? If not, why the fuck is some random god of darkness just appeared as a final villain?

Results for the first official popularity poll are out:

http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/seiya/sp/vote2013/index.html

Looks like Yuna and Genbu were the only ones able to stand against the rush of NOSTALGIA.

I find this hilarious.

YOSHIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I can't believe she actually went for the "Yuna hugs Kouga so hard Apsu is forced out" resolution.

Episode 50

HOW HARD DO YOU BELIEVE? However hard, it's not as hard as how hard THESE characters fucking believe! THE POWER OF BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO.

Hopefully that's the last fucking time this retarded plot card gets pulled. I like how the entire episode was made to set up a one on one battle between Koga and Abzu in brand new designs just for the final episode. Hopefully Umakoshi delivers! Lulz.

The show is being dubbed here in Brazil. I guess it'll start later this year, on second semester. I want to see how popular with kids this new gen will be.

From the reaction of my nephews watching the japanese version, I guess it'll do more than allright. :)

So they are going to have another go at the whole "the armor while nobody wears it is shaped like the constellation" thing?
Well, that's a good idea, but I think it's OG SS nostalgia speaking. :)
