Brad (Muir) and I share the same likes/dislikes of the Monster Hunter games :D. Always fun hearing him and the GB guys talk.

Whoa whoa whoa, I like the guy but let's not say anything crazy here.
 
If you read the Guns of Navarro this week, Alex says he's quite antisocial and gets awkward/nervous in huge public conventions like PAX. I can sympathize with that and maybe his 'douchey' behavior is just him being nervous. Him running around the table laughing at the panel was a bit much though...lol
 
The vitriol Patrick constantly gets is just weird. He's a dude who plays and talks about video games...don't we all do that on here?

I don't think I'll ever understand the "problem."

I don't expect any GDC content on the site period. On the a previous bombcast they seemed pretty strong in their hatred of covering GDC and events in general

Patrick is fine. It's okay to be put off when he does things sometimes, but he's FAR from insufferable. If he's really that bad to you, then you should probably stay away from crowded places like NYC. You'd probably go on a killing spree due to all the far more "insufferable" people you would run into than Patrick.
 
The boos at Patrick at the start of the panel were kinda heartbreaking. He looked like he was kinda hurt by that.

Keep on trucking Patrick! I like the diversity you bring to the group.

They weren't Boos, but ''Scooops'' I think we have answered that many times.
What broke my heart was someone yelling ''Shut up'' to Alex, he is an annoyance, sure, but have respect man...

So suddenly five people is the majority? Hell, most of the giantbomb comment section is a mess on account of it. Attribute it to a vocal minority all you want, but you cannot say the majority is on either side.

Majority is relative, but yeah the only way we can settle this is by putting up a poll. Yay, nay or indifferent.

Also the worst Giant Bomb member are the fans. Someone came up with that earlier in the thread.

The fans aren't a member of giantbomb. It was a stupid comment the first time.

That's what makes GB GB. It's the random inanity of Vinny killing a cool guy who just wanted to lay down and take a nap. You can't have the parts you're mentioning without the good parts. And since GAF put me onto their site I haven't found anything better for what they're trying to do. Cover vidya games.

Giant Bomb is community driven, which is a shame because some (I emphasize 'some') fans are pretty shitty. And I don't mean creepy like this thread on weekends, like shitty shitty what with that Skullgirls piece and the absolutely horrendous comments it got.

It's also why TNTs that don't involve the fans are the best.

Fixed that. Lets be real, the vast majority of GB visitors probably don't even know the community exists. It's a personality site first, everything else second.
 
I like Patrick a lot. I learn lots of things listening to him, often because of the research he does beforehand. I thought he was just the doofy hipster Nintendo fanboy when I first started watching Giantbomb, but he has really matured in his presentation skills. It seems like he takes his job really seriously and always keeps the importance of integrity in mind.

My girlfriend and I just watched the PAX East panel. She said he was the most informative and entertaining person on the panel, just like he was when we saw them at PAX Prime last year. I don't see the point in shitting on him in this thread if you don't like his style.

I suppose, but it's still a part of their site. However I don't know how big a part of it it is. It's pretty comprehensive but I wonder if it gets a lot of use.

Most people do only just listen to the Bombcast on their feeds and ignore the site altogether, Jeff chimed in on that... somewhere.
 
Patrick is younger than me, better looking than me, cooler than me, taller than me, has better hair, and has a much better job than me. Of course I fucking hate him!

Actually I like Patrick and have warmed to him greatly - he's over-enthusiastic in a way that I completely understand from someone his age and sometimes he's really funny too. He doesn't have the years of experience playing games that Jeff has and subsequently isn't as jaded as Jeff (or me) but I feel he's gaining confidence and seems to be finding his role in the crew. He's not a perfect presenter or interviewer but then I don't think any of the GB team are, their slap-dash approach is what makes them so entertaining.

He's OK.
