MK9 looks better than Injustice

Including the frame data in the move lists is something all fighting games should have done a long time ago. I thought MK9 was decent, but I could never get used to the buffering. Injustice lets you turn the negative edge off which is supposed to help with the buffering, so I'll probably give this game a look.

The game doesn't look amazing, but I haven't seen all of the stages and characters yet. I've seen far worse-looking fighters though, so it probably won't bother me.

If fighting games (capcom ones) included the frame data/hit box data in game they won't be able to make a profit from strategy guides. When they released Street Fighter Alpha Anthology in America they removed the in game move list so people would have to buy the Brady game guide.

It's bad for consumers but good for business and we know which one Capcom values.

The stage and item stuff is dope. The moveset specials looks interesting. Its the engine that bothers me. Antiairs and jumps look goofy, the characters look so stiff and upright.

Yea, I have been thinking about the stage/item stuff all day and how this concept can be taken even further and even more integrated into the game design, haha. I really like it.

I really don't like the engine feel either. I don't get those animations still. Do they shoot for that, or do they review and go, that's the best we can do, it is what it is. So stiff. Hand key that stuff man!

Hope you guys enjoyed the Injustice tutorial. The main thing I did not mention in the video was how you actually initiate the clash:

F~LT+RT+B on xbox
F~Circle+L2+R2 on PS3
can only activate it round 2.

As for the graphics..man w/e, people play SFXT which looks way way way way worse. I hope people can look past that and enjoy the game for what it is! I don't mind the graphics in this game as all seeing how I fucked w/MK9 sooo..yeah.

Yea the modelling is not the best

But the design direction is on point. I hate it when I see "super model" Dianas in comics. Her body type is suppose to be above athletic.

Yeah.. upon further inspection part of it is because the bones are ready to burst out of her skin. X-Ray mode DLC incoming?

Worse?!?! C'mon Art, I love you, but...no chance in hell dude!

so LIJoe is straight eating raw cake mix with a gallon of milk on the side. and with the rumors abotu ChrisG's diet, the FGC is promoting bad nutrition!

What the hell? I can understand having a penchant for more realistic graphics, but the animations put it below SFxT. The only thing SFxT has worse is the contrast set to 11 and Man shoulders on the women.

It's actually pretty rare for guides to include frame data, as it is often considered a trade secret. Besides, if companies want fighting games to attract and retain new players, teaching them how to play using the game itself is a great place to start.

Correct me if I am wrong (I am probably remembering wrong), but I think there was a tekken podcast somewhere with michael murray or something, where they talked about why Namco doesn't release frame data for tekken 6 (I think).

I guess the gist of it was because the frame data is the heart of the game (it drives the engine under the hood, with all the move interactions), and that what drives the arcade players to keep playing, to discover the frame data (among other things). To release the frame data was to take the discovery away or something.

Maybe that's why these Japanese companies don't release it all the time officially.

Again, I might be wrong on remembering this.

If the animations are as bad as you say, I want to see what the online is like... heh

Well from everything I have seen about the game they never mentioned once about how online/netcode, I mean if your last game had one of the worst netcodes wouldn't you promote that you improved it? Not looking good but I hope for its sake its better than MK.

I'm just mad they aren't making a PC port. I don't touch my PS3 since it seems to be bi-polar and works when it wants to. The only fighter I've bought for the PC is AE(which looks so much better than the console version), but I could use more variety.
Injustice is butthole ugly, but yeah SFxT is def worse.
Eh, different strokes for different folks. They're on par for the "bleh" awards imo.

Yeah, they've been completely quiet on the netcode now that I think about it.

oh boy...

Injustice is kinda like the anti-SFxT in the graphics department. One has really ugly animations/faces/dull colors/etc, while the other is really gaudy in general with fucking ADD backgrounds. I think SFxT is way worse, but the two games are ugly in really different ways so I can easily see how one could think one game is uglier than the other.

SFxT is visually abrasive. Injustice just looks goofy as shit

Which is funny because Sega puts it into the game for free. Stinking Namco!

I would believe that. It's the type of misguided thinking I'd expect from a video game designer.

"Instead of giving you something that would help you become better players, and despite you asking for it, it's more fun for you to fumble around in the dark for a few months wasting time figuring things out."

Well i kinda understand the game designer.

some people want voice chat and the ability to summon friend in demon/dark souls. think about THAT!

WW does not look like that in-game, she looks way worse. If that's how she actually looked in-game it would've been perfectly acceptable. And that pic of SFxT is ugly as hell too.

i still don;t know what tekken character that is, but she looks lewd in all the shots i've seen!

I think I'm misinterpreting animation with visuals...yea, I can agree that SfxT is fucking collorfull LSD level, but the animations are well done and the movement feels great

Frame data for all Tekken games is recorded and posted on TZ so its not some big mystery or trade secret. Put me in the camp that wants frame data standard for moveslist in all fighting games.

That's Lili and she looks way better in Tekken.

That's why I want Elena in SF4 AE 2014!! So I can see her not in a LSD fueled color puke visor telescope.

It's not completely true. Guides that come out in America most certainly doesn't contain frame data but ones that are released in the Asia region usually have frame data/hit boxes dating back to SF2.

The Alpha 3 guide with frame data/hit boxes had me foaming at the mouth before I found out it was only in available in Japan.

Was that info officially from capcom? Or did they do it themselves? Isn't the frame data wrong sometimes in these guides?

Not being a minion, but I think Marvel 3 is the most beautiful fighting game out there
Ok, I'm a minion, but that doesn't has an influence in my opinion!

so LIJoe is straight eating raw cake mix with a gallon of milk on the side. and with the rumors abotu ChrisG's diet, the FGC is promoting bad nutrition!

How does he stomach the texture? You can't just wash that pulpy mess away with milk.

I assume that they'll just use the same netcode, actually.

Comeon man sfxt looks like shit dude lol. That has nothing to do with my feelings about the actual game itself. It's abrasive to look at, flashing colors everywhere (though toned down in 2013.)

frame data being in games is fine in a post youtube/information available every where age. Discovery my ass. People figure out stuff way quicker these days because games are very similar to each other.

I assume that they'll just use the same netcode, actually.

If it says powered by gamespy I will fucking lol.
