New Pokemon X and Y info cometh next weekend!

anyways I thought lucario took over the cool-ass pokemon spot. Dude even won 5th gen

Nitendo: Zorua and Zoroack * presents them*

Pokemon fans: nah...no....Lucario.

I remember having a good laugh when I found out Zoroark was unceremoniously shown the door and Lucario was brought back.

BTW, I still think this potentia Nutwo looks hideous. Mewtwo was never a looker, but this just looks very awkward and poorly realized.

My childhood depends on that one single image.

Please don't kill it.

Your childhood will survive. Mewtwo will still exist.

If real, this could just as easily be an entirely different Pokemon cloned from Mew, and not a Forme of Mewtwo itself.

There are plenty of designs from Black and White that liked immediately upon seeing them for the first time. Some of my favorite designs are from Gen V (also some of the absolute worst too). Every generation has at least some nice new pokemon designs.

I am not a fan of this mewtwo/three/whatever design though. It's just looks kinda tacky to me. For what it's worth I didn't really like the starters or Sylveon either. Fennekin is the only one that looks decent to me but it's head just seems way oversized. Would be a good design if the proportions were different. I love the new legends though so that gives me hope for some more cool ones to come.

Thank you for a well argued opinion. Most 5th Gen Pokemon were maligned as the worst in the series the first time they were shown, the only obvious ones that weren't were crowd-pleasing stuff like Braviary.

I'm awaiting a Pokémon ND, like they did in January. But they should have announcemed it by now, so I'm not getting my hopes up :(

I don't think they would do Pokemon ND this time but they are going to do worldwide announcement of something. I really hope that it would be new pokemon types since it would make sense.

There's a thought. Would fit with the fleshing out of the story part that BW(2) got. I never really bought the "Curse you little boy/girl! You have ruined my plans to use *insert legendary* to bring about *random goal*. You will never hear from me again." thing that oh so many games pull.

The Mewtwos aren't different enough for me to think that one is awful. They're similar designs, how can one be amazing and one terrible :lol
It looks like a terrible fakemon. Something about it repulses me.

And Gen V is by far my favorite generation, so let's not start with the "hurr nostalgia" shit.

Pokemon , I firmly believe this(with more hedgehoggy franchises as well) they designs got better as years went on. Not saying that they cant make bad ones, no one remembers some of the gen 4 fish for that exact reason. But I generally think that the Pokemon have improved, and people tend to idolize their child hood.

Example, people make fun of this guy.
trash-fights-back-the-scariest-monsters-made-of-garbage-3-165923.png

And they magically forget that a glob of purple, got called a Pokemon evolution.

I'd hate it if they announced something out of the blue. If they do a ND there is at least time to prepare and a decent stream available.

Oh Its one my favorites, its still unimaginative as hell. Like many gen 1/2 pokemans

I hope to god Lucario is in smash 4 because of that.

I'd rather Mewtwo return and take his rightful place back. Plus they could use TrueMootwo as his final smash.

No I won't stop calling it "TrueMoo"two.

Mewtwo doesn't have a "rightful place". It's more likely that a Gen VI representative will replace Lucario in Smash and Mewtwo won't return, since that seems to be the trend so far.

that's what makes gen 1 & 2 designs so good.
pokèmons are supposed to be animals, they don't need spikes,or useless decorations and things like that, the more sober they are,the better

It's less that Buutwo is a terrible design and more that making another Mewtwo form is completely unnecessary and a waste of time IMO.

They should devote their efforts to giving Pinsir, Farfetch'd, Lapras and co. evolutions. Mewtwo is and always was fine.

What rightful place? I am going to be real with you, mewtwo ain't as popular you may think. Its just a bunch of dudes yelling about their childhoods really loud. They are trying to market him again, though it probably not going to work.

Like I said before.

This is the new badass of pokemon. I advise you get used to it.

Also they can both get in because odds are in the next smash, there will be 5 contenders per major franchise, so yeah.

also I would argue that gen3 and forward look more like animals than gen 1/2

Pokemon aren't supposed to be any one thing. Pokemon is short for Pocket Monsters, and last time I checked the variety of monster designs and concepts found in gaming is impressive. Things like Seel, Dewgong, Exeggcute, Chansery, etc... are not a credit to your argument.

Which, by the way, glosses over Gen 1/2 pokemon with "spikes or useless decorations" like Rhyhorn, Gyarados, Jynx, etc...

No, they'll probably just be clones of eachother. Lucario is much better, anyway.

Yeah, unless they change Mewtwo's moveset drastically he'll just be a clone of Lucario, and not a very good one either if they retain his Melee properties. I'm in favor or having a Gen 6 rep, though. Lucario, like Mewtwo, has had his time in the sun.

Nice condescending tone, thanks.

A forme of a Gen I pokemon is not a Gen VI pokemon.

It'd be cool to see a Lapras evolution, though it'd need to be a lateral move as its BST is 540. Just give it the ole Scizor treatment.

it doesn't need to be imaginative if trying to be it you end up with ridicolous designs

looks at the final evolutions of the starters of black and white..they change a lot from the base form, but they are all awful, they look more like digimons than pokèmons

While thats interesting

Jigglypuff is in this game, because she was in the first season of the anime. Proof of this lies in that fact that meowth was supposed to be a contender as well. But that didn't pan out. Jigglypuff has no legitimate reason, to be in the game, and to be frank. If they removed it, I don't think a great many people would care.

I find people who say that do not remember what digimon evovle into.

on that note, if we are talking about final evolutions
explain to me this

how did squirtle and wartortle evovle into that hideous digimon looking mess to the right.

Guys can we drop the generational design / "it looks like a digimon" stuff? Every gen has it lookers and it stinkers. We are going to get enough of that stuff over the coming days.

Jigglypuff is a Smash series veteran and popular in Japan (IIRC, that's why it got into SSB in the first place). They're unlikely to drop the crooning pink balloon anytime soon.

She was in because of the anime and has stayed because they have yet to remove a smash 64 character. If they remove any she would probably be the first to go.

The Smash Bros. community at large has a tremendous aversion to the removal of veterans. Jigglypuff isn't leaving.

It's also why Mewtwo is the #1 most requested character for SSB4 in Japan, and he's quite high on the list here in the west.

Lucario is furry bait and reminds me of the emo boys who used to get teased in high school. MEWTWO FOR LIFE!

Mewtwo is for manchildren who never grew up out of the 1st gen designs, forever holding their Mewtwo plushies close to them. Lucario is the only choice.

lol

in the pokèmon universe, they are animals

as for the designs of gen 1/2,some animals have horns and spikes, what i don't like is when they don't look natural, but just to add to the design

like this

Excadrill.png

the base pokèmon design is really good, one of my favorites of that gen, then the evolution put some kind of helmet on his head that doesn't seem natural at all, without that the design would have been so much better

look at the eevolution revealed for X & Y

sylveon-battle-1.jpg

ribbons?and what are those other things, strings?how is this even remotely natural?seems like some little girl had fun dressing him
