Because it's a pack-in? I'm pretty impressed with it too. I went from wanting this console and NSMBU to suddenly having another wiimote, HDD, ZombiU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, LEGO City Undercover, and Nintendo Land. Life is good. Excited to try the new Deus Ex edition, now.
BTW, who is doing all the Luigi hats? I want one.

Picked up a Monster Hunter Wii U bundle and man am I cut I didn't get this console sooner. Nintendo Land is great fun, Miiverse is awesome (the community is really nice in a cute kind of way) and the overall interface design is nice. Hopefully the loading time issues get fixed well with the patch!
Should probably mention I've had one hardware lockup so far, whilst browsing Miiverse during a loading screen in Monster Hunter.

yeah it's definitely a different game. i'm hoping more people will take to it as the months go by. i hate as a TON of multiplayer so it's worth it.
The console is awesome. I Love my WII U. Great piece of kit with a lot of potential. It just has a few kinks to iron out

Had my first hard locks last night. I've had none at all and then Lego City Undercover locked up twice on me. I can't think of anything that I did / was doing differently. It seemed totally random.
It's already shit. I really don't understand what people are getting out of it. I called it out before and people were mad defensive, so I went back and spent more time with it. It's shit.

Anyone else mighty impatient for the Virtual Console? I've been stocking on Club Nintendo rewards over the past months, hoping to upgrade once the Wii U VC is released. From the first time I played Balloon Fight on the Gamepad (and especially after playing the Ambassador version on an OG 3DS) I realized what a fantastic device the Gamepad is for playing classic games. Seriously, I would be perfectly fine waiting for more retail releases if the VC goes up with a meaty catalogue. Any clues as to when it may go up?
Depends on how they keep updating it and moderating it. There is to much of people asking the same questions over and over again. A way of searching for certain words would be more helpful. Same with being able to search out specific levels. NSMBU already labels your post with the level you were on. Being able to search for something like that would help. Directing you to those postings would be good as well. For example when you enter Miiverse from a game it automatically list post from people that posted from the same level, chapter, etc of the game you are in.

Someone help me understand. What's the appeal of Monster Hunter on the Wii U? I've tried the demo, but it just kicked my butt.
Fun game to play with others that tests my intelligence and skill rather than insulting it like most games these days do. If you don't want a challenge look elsewhere.
It's also the only great game on Wii U so there's that.

From my experience with various wiiu games the effect seems to be network-related. If you ever get into a situation where that happens often try getting your wiiu offline and see if that changes anything.
I have more than 100 hours in it and keep spending a few moments every time I sit with my wiiu. Perhaps twitterish-minimalist social networks are not your thing?

It's launching this month with the OS speed update. I'm guessing we'll get a Direct going over the details (hopefully in addition to Pikmin and W101 release dates) on the 23rd/24th to coincide with the earnings release and being available soon after.

I love the idea of having another screen--kinda wish the other consoles would go this route (maybe they will...?). It just makes things a heck of a lot more convenient (e.g. not having to pause as much (yeah yeah, I know--next gen problems)).

I'd be open to a purchase if there was any confirmation about DLC from WB/NR and their was any information regarding the quality of the version. There has been no footage of the Wii U version. No demo. Nothing at all spoken about it from what I can tell. Any and all tweets in regard to the Wii U version has been ignored as well it seems. If there is no effort to try and sell me on the game I don't see why I should go out and buy, especially at full price at it's release.

I want to get it as well, Injsutice that is, but I want the DLC from best buy which is not offerred on the Wii U. Bummed me out. If a good amount of people get it on the Wii U though, I might just bite.
I think that's exactly it. I cannot fathom the purpose of a cut down, Nintendo-specific 'message board' that only contains insight on the level of "I love this game!" or "this game is hard!". I think it's the minimalism, mixed with the demographic.
I guess I haven't needed to ask any questions, so I haven't 'used' it from that angle. Even then, if I had a question I'd much rather hit up the GAF thread for the game in question.
When's the Spring update again?

Yup. It's the only thing worth doing with Wii U in Japan right now, lol.
I really don't know how they expect this to sell when there is no information at all out there about the Wii U version. Times like this I really miss Nintendo Power. At least they might have been able to have gotten some information out of the developers and maybe been able to play the Wii U build.

It upsets me that Nintendo is just avoiding the third party situation. The least they could have done is make a 3rd Party ND and advertised their upcoming third party games, even though it's a bit thin list.
Confirmed by the man himself? If so then it'll be a definite buy for me.

Why? If I enjoy basketball, am I under some obligation to only buy officially licensed jerseys? To buy products players endorse? To buy tickets and make sure to pay attention during commercials during games?
Am I doing great harm to the movie industry by watching a movie at a friend's house? By not watching the previews?
My only obligation in any consumer market is to myself. Everyone else has to vie for my money.

Actually I like basketball. I watch the games on tv all the time. I actually go to sports bars with friends to catch the Knicks games all the time. Not only am I supporting my team when they play a commercial I also support the local ecomony by going out and spending money. Why do I do all this? Cause this is my hobby and it brings me joy.

Yeah context sensitivity would help, and of course part of that is having more games actually supporting it in the first place. And maybe a few basic tags (like "help") to filter down more if wanted.
Huh, VC is for summer I thought (with another OS update too), the 30 cent/game per month promotion thing still has a few more games to go right?

Managed to wrangle a deal with various voucher codes and discounts whereby Resi Revelations and AssCreed4 will be costing me slightly less than £26 apiece. Despite the dodgy retailer (and convoluted way of getting the prices down), I'm pretty pleased with that considering I'd hope to be able to sell them afterwards for a similar or possibly slightly higher price.
