So I was playing the demo and I noticed this preset line in chat window

Will there be exploration quests too? as Battle acts too are written.

Redsun gamers please confirm!

There are a few "gather drops" quests in the game, not too many though.

I'm noticing against the Harpy that her weak points are her face and the tips of her wings, how are you supposed to attack them? Infact any flying creature, I'm guessing you unlock arrows or some sort of throwing ability

Yes, press L to craft Ice shots. You can also make lightning ones but those are harder to make.

There's also an egg you can throw, but not as easily.

Some runs of the jack o lantern will get you some iron pinwheels as rewards. Also do the cats to get some ice shields and fuse them together for ice thorns.

In a group with 2 randoms and we got Cerburus down really low, was just two of us left, I died and told him to sacrifice me, he did but died just as he got the sacrifice off. We watched the sacrifice kill Cerburus but because we were all dead we failed the quest, so annoying :/

We got him to around 5 percent a couple of times, just couldn't finish him off.

If it makes you feel any better, I can attest to how good it feels to sacrifice your two allies, and then having your skin sacrifice finish off the boss. All at the same time.

Sometimes she falls down, attack her face then. That's the best time to BREAK her weakpoint.

But if you just want to do damage to them easily you need ranged spells. There are spells that lock on to the weak points.

Ugh got through the demo quite well but the Cerberus is giving me headaches. Me and the CPUs just get killed in a few minutes. I know it is weak against ground but I only have the fist spell and casting it just takes too long for me. I'm lvl 14 in life and 1 in magic. Any hints in how to combat it?

In the mean time I'm going to try online, feel free to add me (PSN: KiraFA37) if you need a divine person in your group.

Two openings:
1) Shield him when he runs. He'll get knocked over. The first time you'll have enough time for a few hits and then a charge-up, subsequent knock-overs will be shorter. So after 2, go straight for the charge-up.
2) When he's charging his lightning attack. I've found that 9 times out of 10 you can stand right on his side and he won't hit you, so go for the charge-up. Not sure why I get hit 1/10, maybe if you're standing too close.

That said, I don't think Cerberus is worth trying to fight offline. The AI is too useless and he's too hyper-active to fight solo.

Beat Cerberus with 1 friend in 5:34 seconds. Need more!

Also, scoring in this game is fucked. I ended up with 390 points and got second rate sorcerer. My friend got 300 and got Legendary. How in the shit does that work?

Does damage dealt and taken factor into it?

I have problems joining nline almost the time.
I have NAT 2 and TCP Ports: 80, 443, 465, 983, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479 open... but nothing... i have to put the PS Vita ip same as the DMZ in the router, but this ip isn't always free.

Score requirements differ depending on the mission. Cerberus seems to require around 400 for Divine Sorcerer.

Unless those ranks were on the same mission, in which case: no idea.

I'm so stupid. Why didn't I try this. I'm guessing the stone shield is better to use?

While I don't know if the shield element changes anything (if I had to guess, the bash attack), I personally was using the ice shield.

Where do you get the stone shield, anyways?

Well I know there is a stone shield from seeing footage of it, but I can't recall if its actually in the demo. But yeah, you're probably right that the element only changes the bash. It would be neat if he was stunned for a longer period if you used stone shield.

When people sacrifice allies when Cerberus is still yellow I want to wrangle them.

I also cannot believe that with a 19/1 arm, Cerberus landing on you is a one-shot at full HP after skin sacrifice. I used it when he was red, and his knockdown timer was non-existent. Charging up an attack while he was in the air was all I could do. Robbed :(

After playing some mulitplayer my opinion on this game has changed. I like it a lot more. I can play with randoms but for some reason I could not connect to two of the people on my friend's list. Spell variety seems nice and I like how I can play a support role.

NAT might cause problems with connecting to certain people.

I have the rule of 3.

If you've died 3 times you'd be more useful buffing me :D

Resurrecting people against Cerberus more often than not just gets another person killed.
That's what I usually do too. I get really annoyed by people who just run around Cerberus without attacking. If you don't have any magic left, use Infernus and ask to be sacrificed instead of asking to be saved and continuing to be useless.

My arm is 6/14, I die after 3 normal hits. :(

Cerberus's hitbox on his fall is much larger than his shadow. Seems counter-intuitive..
FYI: That sacrifice was on first-death. He then proceeded to sacrifice the next person that died. Immediately. Awful people do these things.

I run around Cerberus waiting for either cats to spawn or for the tombs to reactivate when I'm out of magic. And I'm out of magic when my allies steal every sacrifice. I'm not suiciding for that!

True, first match online and we won against it. Played a couple of more matches but can't seem to win anymore. Game is super fun online :)

I'm so excited for this game. Probably going to complete the whole single-player mode before jumping into multiplayer.

I really hope it does well in the West, too. I would love for Soul Sacrifice to get sequels. It has a lot of great concepts.

i'm really bad at this...
it takes me like 10-20 mins just to kill jack

11/6 now
Spam ice attacks (mostly the ice sword and the snow root) until he's completely frozen and follow up with a lightning attack. Then repeat until he's dead. The Jack in the Sortiara mission is much easier to defeat, so use him as practice.

Edit: Speaking of which... new high score! This guy is a serious pushover.

One cool thing you can do against Jack is that when he's in Ball form, the last hit of the Ice Sword hold combo knocks him over and cancels it. So all you need to do is wail on him with the ice sword a bit, then charge up just before he goes into ball form. Complete lock-down.
Just need to be careful not to stand so close that the ball form would touch you.

thanks! any advice on the offerings to use?
as in.. how to, generally, go about fusing/boosting them

i'm just boosting them whenever i can

EDIT: how do I destroy specific cursed parts. any advice? the targeting system doesn't assist much in that regard

I usually pack ice sword, snow root, frozen arrows, 1 electric offering, 1 healing offering, and 1 freebie (ice shield maybe). Most drop items are listed on the main quest screen, so pay attention to those. Frozen arrows can only be obtained by fusing the regular arrows and the ice shield.

Press down to see where the cursed parts are. Then either use the arrows to target those areas (which I do) or the shield to knock Jack down when it's charging at you in ball form.

Sorry if it's been asked before, but how do you guys feel about this game playing Solo?

I haven't played the demo yet since I don't have memory card space available.

This game seems awesome from everything I've seen, but I'm not big on co-op/online and would like to know if the game is still great as a single player game.

cheers!

Yes. You might want to use some of those arrow things too though so that you'll be able break its weak parts and damage it while it's in the air.

Thanks for the confirmation and yea I started to use the throw style items more now as a way to do some damage while she's floating up there, but they are just non elemental versions.

Now with all this info I have been gathering I have an idea what to fucking do in trying to defeat the creature since my "load-out" will make sense instead of throwing all sorts of shit

Everything is (arguably) doable offline with AI partners, but it's nowhere as fun.
