Skullgirls at UFGT and CEO. Something tells me those two are going to be a blowup seeing as how people still aren't coming out to play it in numbers past maybe 20. At least not on the East Coast. We've been on blast for a while. I never found anyone that would let me sleep on their hotel room floors. Oh well, maybe next year.

Hey man SFxT is a solid game now.
Being solid doesn't mean it's fun to watch for everyone. This genre is littered with amazingly well built games that no one wants to watch.

Try Master Chibi if he is going. Dude will probably go out of his way to accomodate SG players.

And then there's Skullgirls. :3
You're right. It's an amazingly well built game that has consistently gotten 1000+ viewers on it's very own weekly. Just two weeks ago Salty Cupcakes managed 17 players.

There is a God.
Justin and Ricky are my problem with watching it, not so much sfxt itself.

I'd watch Chris G all day over them.
Is top 8 coming up? I might watch if it's just top 8. What do they do to turn you off so much?

It's going to be at ECT5 too.

Don't know about the Meta Game of xTekken any more, but I do know I watched someone wreck shit with Jin yesterday and I was extremely happy and hyped about it.

I think the Doom thing is really my biggest issue with me losing interest in Marvel.

Even the Morrigan stuff wouldn't be that bad if she felt volunerable but she doesn't because of Missles, and combine that with it just running my entire mood when I see Doom get a trade with Foot Dive and still get a OTD kill combo out of it and I just can't stand the character.
Doom absolutely kills the flow of the game (and so do Vergil/Morrigan to some extent but they need resources).

I don't need to go on a tirade about Hidden Missiles again because I think even people who don't play the game know why it's a problem.

When Doom is in play all he does is grip the far upper corner of the screen and shoots Photon Shot, then Foot Dives down. He keeps repeating this until the other player makes a mistake and gets hit or he gets enough meter to DHC out. Doom anchor is herp a derp... either he gets lamed out/out played or he gets a dumb hit into corner mix up. Even if he doesn't have XF, if he has the corner he can wipe out your team. There are VERY FEW characters that can do this in the game and is why Doom anchor is a bit underrated, even without resources he has a pretty good chance at coming back.

Then he has TAC infinites which are of course stupid. At least his infinites kill fast.

He has a safe get out of jail card with aerial Photon Hyper and it doubles as a safe hyper in. Any time your point character is in trouble just DHC into Doom... fly top of the corner screen and just shoot Photon shots until you have meter to DHC your character back in.

If that wasn't enough he has 2 additional assists that promote further lame play. Plasma Beam is a combo breaker as well as Doom comes out so far behind the point character, uncharacteristic of most assists in the game. Doom Rock also kills the flow of the match although that assist is at least respectable.

The entire design of this character is to play as lame as possible. This would've been fine except they gave him brain dead OTG combos and cross up Foot Dive. It's no shocker that the best players who specialize in zoning play this character. If Dieminion played him he would get way more top 8s because this is totally his type of character. The only thing that prevents this character from being the unquestionable best character in the game (some would argue that he is, I would not argue against it) is that he gets bodied in numerous match ups but his support value is too ridiculously high for that to matter in a game.

SFxT is currently a game with a pretty notable top tier, but you can make a lot of the mid-low tier characters work if set up properly.

Really? That's a bit disappointing, you'd think after the big breast cancer drive a lot more people would go out and support the game or because of the drive itself they gained more players. I guess it didn't really motivate people?

How can you tell Kazuya is doing EWGF and not WGF in this game? Serious question because I can easily tell in Tekken but in this game I am not sure.

Even he could, it's too late for me now. At least for UFGT. Already have something else planned for that weekend. UFGT looks like such a blast to be at in person too. I wanted to get in on their early bird registration.

CEO is just looking more expensive to me the more I think about it. Even with someone letting me crash on their floor for free. Not sure if it's worth eating cup noodles for a while just to get bopped down in Florida. Rather save up for DA BEECH.

Purple lightning or is there some additional effect on his body? Also is the timing the same as the Tekken games?
Lightning. It's a one-frame hit, I think, dunno how close it is to Tekken though. I believe people Plink it to make it easier.

edit: Is "Doriya!" EWGF-only?

It did

It's just building slowly and the xbox patch has hurt an entire half of the playerbase. That is VERY problematic when talking about gameplay and practice. You don't need XBL to contribute hundreds of dollars.

ECT will have it iirc...

I'm pretty sure its a just frame, so the button press has to be pressed at the same time as the directional input.

What if you are colorblind like me?

Games always so inconsiderate of the colorblind population <.<

The electric has a mist to it while the other doesn't.

I think in Tekken it's 2/3 frame depending on the character. I guess with plinking it becomes the same.

Purple = Dorya now. It's Also purple and the electric trail is a bit longer.

Normal = Sound, Blue, and trail is a bit shorter.

Timing is same as in Tekken as I recall. You have it hit at the same time as you do DF, as I recall.

Honestly. It's Blue/A slightly more purple looking blue. Capcom did a poor job conveying that information to the player. It's hard to tell.
Once you know what to look for it's easy, but you need to see it in the context of a match.

Oh, it was altered in the update? Explains why these youtube explanations look off.
