Ah the old rumour (last year) on 6 months delayed from one of the big two, I though it was Sony but maybe actually it was MS?

I dunno man, i know this is possible but MS having hardware problems AGAIN even after all that.... Youd think theyd hire experts or something after the first debacle. Even i have a lot of trouble believing that.

I am a final year medical student who was working an observorship when the ban happened. I have vague ties to the industry when I actually had a passion to break in. I used to test at Nintendo as well.

I know people on this forum (including me) give kotaku a lot of shit for sensationalism/baiting articles, but their rumors are generally pretty accurate. I can believe this.
 
I just corroborated this. It's known within this 3rd party dev at least and is basically known within dev circles.

Take this rumor to the bank.

You remember it badly. There was several stories about MS falling behind in chip production [bad yields]. Sony had delays when they moved from quadcore Steamroller CPU [much beefier design] to octacore Jaguar CPU [tablet/netbook design], but even with that delay, they were ahead of MS schedule.

It's weird seeing has the chips/SoC's are similar and we have pics of the PS4 beta kits (which are relatively small!)

Unless IdeaMan means Sony aren't sending them to devs in a timely fashion? Or maybe with Sony's experience with hardware development, they just keep their cool better...

八卦就是一年半前本來某公司是想用一顆cpu+一顆7970gpu a company(again he didn't said which one) tried to use 7970 as GPU at 1.5 years ago
後來嫌太貴成本太高就算惹 because it's too expensive so just gave up

Also wasn't there a poster here on NeoGAF who's roomie worked for AMD and he told him that they were scrambling engineers to the Durango project. Remember reading something like that, could indicate problems.

It's very telling that you on the first page of this thread deemed the rumour of Microsoft being behind Sony as being questionable because you thought it was "fishy" that someone would have that kind of info about Microsoft and Sony both.

But when other poster claim similar knowledge about both consoles that happen to put Sony in a bad light as well, you are instantly ready to BELIEVE and want to put the spotlight on it.

For the record, I have no problem believing both the rumour that is the main topic of the thread as well as the posts that you quoted :)

I can guarantee you I talk to 2 devs. Sorry but I never asked. This one in particular sent me a message basically confirming this rumor.

For the record, the touch controller rumor from earlier seems false. At least from what the dev kits look like at the present time or MSFT is being tight about that one.
 
Um, do Sony and Microsoft really need more than two exclusive launch games? With COD, Battlefield, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed, etc. coming at launch, if you ship a bunch of exclusive games at launch, they probably won't do well. I'd much rather both Sony and Microsoft have/save something for March/April anyways

I sort of elaborated more in the following post. I didn't ask this time. He came and told me that it's known to them as well.

I didn't think it was the case until that point.

Something's going on behind the scenes and MSFT might be scrambling to gain some exclusives even if it means buying them.
 
Hope for Microsoft's sake this isn't true. While rushing the 360 gave them a one-year advantage, it caused huge hardware and software issues. They won't have the luxury of a head start this coming generation so I don't think they could afford rushing a system this time.
