I'm truly confused as to why this is a megaton. I didn't realize there is a huge proliferation of mobile gamers who can't wait to play their mobile games on Windows phones. Or play their PC games through the Windows 8 marketplace. Skulls of the Shogun really lit up those sales charts being Windows 8 ecosystem only.

If we are talking about creating games, PS4 is closer to PC spec than Durango is.

It would be ideal for MS. If you buy an XBLA game and knew it would be available to you for free on WP8, you might think about buying a windows handset next time.

It would be a very good move on their part with an ecosystem already in place.

I'm waiting until after the 21st or E3 to see what kind of phone I'm going to get just because of the potential tie-in stuff with Windows Phone. I'm probably going to get a Lumia 9XX no matter what, but I'm going to wait and see.

You overall point is true, as it wouldn't hurt. I don't see how it is a big boost, though. I doubt Android and iOS phone users are going to switch phones for cross version of a XBLA game. Or a PC gamer abandoning the multitude of options on getting a PC game and be forced onto the Windows 8 store.

You see!? Lol.

Calm before the storm in here. Cannot wait for this, the wait is barely bearable.

Totally! I'm super excited as well, but the lack of leaks is killing the hype a bit. The PS4's trailer and controller leak a few week(s) ahead was enough to get me really excited. I don't need to see any games but just the controller would be enough to get me excited. Even if it isn't that different, just seeing an actual controller kind of reminds you that this is a real thing and it's right around the corner.

Still I can't wait!

Yea, I hope they release some type of teaser or something haha. This can't be overhyped, because it's a damn new console announcement, it will by default be more interesting than a regular conference.

well microsoft did say last year they wanna merge there live service into one (similair to how cross buying with sony is ) basically if you login with your xbox account on pc they did say they want you to have access to all the games u have pruchased on xbox for instance. i guess this kinder all adds up when you use the xbox app on windows 8 and go to remote play. but the keyboard feature isnt able to be used yet.

this is probs what that always connected thing links too aswell that keeps being mentioned, your always connected between devices xbox - pc - phone. you have access to all content you have brought and hence why used gaming wont be as big in next gen for xbox because if you buy on marketplace its the only way to detect if you own the copy still ?

The idea behind merging the dev tools was more that it was going to be super easy for devs to recompile a game for Xbox or PC and would go hand in hand with them opening up Marketplace to more developers both big and small.

Paul Thurrott mentioned a few weeks ago that he'd heard there was a big update scheduled for Visual Studio to allow this kind of thing.

When did they say this?

it was mentioned sometime last year ive been trying to find the interview for a while but it mentioned how they wanna merge the services together. may also explain why halo shows up in steam database ? and numerous other ms titles too

I don't think that's Microsoft view of the market anymore.

And this is coming from somebody that is a pretty big support of Microsoft.

I know they are doing an entertainment system which I'm excited for, I'm even excited to see what comes from the new kinect. But the early adopters are core gamers and I'm positive MS knows this.

Unless they have an alarmingly stunning price point in mind for the next console, they'll be wholly aware that the vast majority of the people buying their box out of the gate will be gamers.

You court gamers with games. If they don't realise that by now, they deserve what they get.

No bias it is just Microsoft has lost the trust of the hardcore.

I own all current gen consoles and will own all next gen consoles and generally consider myself "hardcore". With that said, the amount of "Sony can do no wrong, Microsoft is the devil" garbage that goes on around here is ridiculous. Every MS thread is filled with "Kinect, Kinect, Kinect" gifs and replies while Sony's Move is completely forgotten for the simple fact that it was a failure.

That's the console war, the worst from fanboys.

Your not imagining positive after positive bits of news. But your also blocking out the fact that the opposite reaction of Twitter and YouTube as well.

One of the most hilarious videos on YouTube this year was the now CLAASSIC PS4 reveal abridged version. I almost spit my drink out when it came out. Now it's at 5 million views. I wonder if they will do one for Microsoft. Do yourself a favor and watch it if you hadn't seen it. Even die-hards got a chuckle out of it.

So you consider a parody video equals non-success? Got it.
................ :lol

yup sony made the move to hop on the wii mote train but a bit more in depth where as ms when full body motion. they both only used these anyway to extend this gen a bit longer cos their consoles wernt ready ofcourse. i think kinect sold more than what they thought it would 20 million or so was the last number and thats in like what 3 years. and people say kinect is a failure still lol

Hey Artist is back to tell us how great Sony is in the Xbox Reveal thread again. Hurray!

If they have an impressive event this place will explode

From anger or joy? The problem with that statement is that "impressive event" means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. A cavalcade for FPS might end up making them tons of money, but that wouldn't make for an impressive event to me. I want to see their vision of Kinect, and I want to see it being demonstrated. I want to see what their third party plans are like. First party plans as well. And yes, I really want to see what the multimedia angle they're going after is, and how it all ties in with Windows 8. That's a tall order for a 1 hour show though.

Joke post?

Why is this garbage allowed?

I'm assuming hardware is identical to PS4 san the ram, perhaps?.

And a lesser GPU if we go by the leaks, same CPU. But then you get into the game of how much system resources are reserved for stuff besides gaming. I just want to know the whole picture.

Both anger and joy. I just find it all a bit boring now, the "them and us" sort of vibe over a piece of hardware. I personally hope they impress me, I want more than one system next generation
