Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

I've downloaded about 95MB of a 521MB file. See you guys tomorrow ...

BUY EVERYTHING, YES EVEN SPY HUNTER, MOE MOE FISHING, MMA UNRESTRICTED, AND BEN 10: GALACTIC RACING

Its not clear if they will obviously, but Tecmo has been surprisingly supportive of the Vita, maybe even one of its most supportive publishers. Im not if we will get this updated version, but it would atleast be nice if they added the characters to + as DLC

That would be even better, especially for the people who bought DoA5 plus :(

any new mobile games out this week? - speaking of mobiles: anyone try ifishing saltwater or apocalypse defense??

I recommend using a regular piece of paper for digging out anything you get into the PS Button. Drove me nuts for a few minutes!

I use the corner of a microfibre cloth or a cotton bud. You could try a little bit of alcohol (surgical spirits or equivalent if you've got it) for any stubborn marks.

thanks ill try both those, i tried a corner of a post it note - wasn't as successful as i hoped... man i just can't get the little hand oils out of those deep crevices of the shoulders... the curvy design just bare;y prevent you from wiping it with a finger.

Jacob Jones is fun. Charming, good graphics, fully voice acted. It did, however, remind me that I'm TERRIBLE at puzzles. I'm going to keep at it. $2.99 is a no brainer, though. That's chump change. It's not a masterpiece or anything but it's easily worth the money. I just wish these puzzles weren't so difficult for me.

Just so nobody is confused by the screenshots, there is no analog movement. The environments you see are the kind where you can swipe the screen to get a different look, and then tap items or areas of interest (that aspect reminded me of the demo I played of Virtue's Last Reward). The game is more about the puzzles and dialog than the exploration.

I'm starting to get a little embarrassed by how much time I've spent playing Jetpack Joyride recently...

~55 hours for my no-microtransaction run :(
If I had to play it again I'd vomit.

I'll wait for the inevitable sale on Jacob Jones buying the full package once it's finished. Or save it for when I end up buying an iPad Mini since it's fully touched controlled and does nothing for the Vita..

Looks pretty nice. Thanks for the impressions! For the price, i figure it's definitely worth a go.

Looks and sounds pretty good for the price. If the price is the same or less in pounds I think I will give it a go.

Thanks for posting your thoughts on the game. Will probably buy this the first chance I get tomorrow. The art style is delightful and the price is a no-brainer. Lack of exploration is a bummer, and it's a shame the game is more influenced by Professor Layton instead of traditional point and click adventure games, but I can look past that.

awesome little gyro feature! really hope this gets implemented into ps4 games with the controller. ( and gyro aiming)

i don't think gyro aiming will be effective on the ps4 because you aren't holding the screen.

also, some ps3 games did the gravity rush thing. killzone 2 had it in the menus i believe. i know that's not quite the same though. it is a nice little touch, i agree.

I have extra codes for the three exclusive On.Playstation Soul Sacrifice DLC spells, Dragon Fang/Flame Bulb/Stone Arrow. Need to give it away in a PM instead of a quote since splitting them up would be bad.
Requirements: US Only. First response with the name of the other five DLC spells given prior will get them.
Preferably someone who owns and plays it of course :)

Edit: Gone!

Speaking of Jacob Jones, had anyone here heard of the game before the PS Blog post a couple of weeks ago? It makes me wonder two things: How many other Vita games are going to just pop up like that, and also whether it's a good or bad thing to reveal your game and then release it so soon afterwards?

I think announcing and then releasing a game like Jacob Jones so rapidly is a great idea for a cheap episodic game like this, but I wonder if it hurts other games to appear out of nowhere. Then again, if you're only going to announce your game when you're close to release maybe that means no delays.

Everybody is copying the Atelier Totori Plus approach.

That shit really paid off for them.

Jacob Jones and Velocity Ultra for me tomorrow. Can't wait for Velocity Ultra. Also, the velocity soundtrack (which includes remixes) is coming out on 17 may ( this friday). I loved the soundtrack so i'm looking forward to checking that out too..

Wow this game looks really cool, is this like Professor Layton?

Edit: Oh cool it's coming to iOS too!

How come Velocity Ultra isn't listed on the US PS Blog for today's update?

edit- ohhh, is it only in EU today? Damn you Carl!

I just popped Silent Hill on. Mapped the sidesteps to the right stick, moved the look and aim buttons to the triggers and I'm ready to go. I'm going to replay it for the first time in more than a decade and I can't wait.

This fucking handheld, man. It just keeps on giving.

Costume Quest was one of the most monotonous and boring games I've ever played.
Although I did go into it with nothing but loving the style and theme.

Ugh. Back to freezing every time I try to download something from the store. Time to rebuild the database again. So fucking annoying.
