EA Sports Engineer: Wii U is crap, < powerful than 360. No $ 3party. [Tweets Deleted]

So have the Wii U fans come in saying the Senior Software Engineer doesn't know what he's talking about yet?

Plenty of Nintendo zealots are overreacting, plenty of anti-Nintendo zealots are overreacting/trying to defend the EA guy.

It's all getting very silly. It's possible to disagree with something without holding an opinion at the exact opposite end of the scale to theirs, guys

This topic has now lost all meaning.

Nintendomination makes a profit from providing Nintendo fans video coverage of Nintendo games. He is financially tied to Nintendo's success, so he has every right to provide a admirably funny rendition of a Nintendo die-hard's reaction to EA.

Also, these threads are all going to feature the same argumentation patterns from here on out, which is really too bad. I think GAF truly fails when it enters this type of discourse. Some great fountain of gaming knowledge we are not.

If you think this is bad don't ever visit another website unless it has the nintendo name in it because this is the most sensible discussion I have seen in all of the forums I go. I'm not joking.

I'm enjoying my WII U plenty since launch..

Not going to lie i would love an NHL 14 on Wii U but other than that i could care less about EA's titles.

When EA makes games as prolific as nintendo then talk..

Nothing they've ever created comes close to captivating the minds nintendo has with their big titles.

If EA, the biggest 3rd party publisher, abandons a system what do you think smaller publishers with less popular games are gonna do?

After seeing this thread for the first time...

So this is what a classic thread is.
I'm glad to have seen it all unfold.

As for this news. Hopefully the guy doesn't get fired...But if EA isn't even on wiiu can't see them bothering him.

Did I call you a fanboy personally at some point? I only implied that fanboys have a tendency to defend there fandom rabidly. Are you insulted by that?

It does not matter whether or not you personally referred to someone as a fanboy - the word fanboy is a console warrior term and not indicative of adult discourse.

Again, if you want to engage in adult conversation, you need to do it as well - do not expect it to be reciprocated if you don't engage in it in the first place

No one apart from a small percentage of die hard Nintendo fanboys will care what this guy says. It will not effect EA's business at all.

I agree it will not have any effect on their business, but would you reall want a senior employee badmouthing a potential partner like this(unless you think that the Wii U is Nintendoa last console, it is likely that EA will release game son a Nintendo platform again).

If EA, the biggest 3rd party publisher, abandons a system what do you think smaller publishers with less popular games are gonna do?

Thrive without EA games taking all the spotlight? What few Wii U owners there are are likely to be looking for new content to play, unfortunately for those 3rd parties they are going to miss out as the next set of worthwhile releases are all from Nintendo.

It works backwards. Some people will defend Nintendo (because seriously, why does everyone have to agree with EA?), it's likely that some of them will have Nintendo avatars. Not sure if you have noticed but plenty of people defending Nintendo are claiming to own a WiiU -don't- have Nintendo avatars.

You'd wrongly assume I own a WiiU, for example.

Why would I assume you have a WiiU? I think you are putting words in my mouth and trying to escalate something that should roll off your back.

I take issue with anyone who defends ANY company blindly just because they make products that they occasionally enjoy. And I simply noticed a correlation with those with nintendo avatars always showing up in force in these threads with pitchforks.

Are you saying you don't see that happening here?

GAF has an incredible talent of catching developers say stupid things on twitter. Although I don't think that this will end quite so climactically as the Adam Orth incident. He was a PR catastrophe for Microsoft were as this guys comments barely affect EA. Still, incredibly unprofessional.

Of course not. I only noticed a correlation between those with Nintendo avatars defending Nintendo. Are you saying you haven't noticed that?

Brilliant observation, Holmes. You may also notice such a correlation concerning those with Sony avatars defending Sony, and those with Microsoft avatars defending Microsoft.

You made your "only by blind Wii fanboys" post in reply to a post of mine, though, and I do not have a forum avatar.

You'd assume I'd "blindly defend" Nintendo - you said it, you have mentioned people having Nintendo avatars and ignoring their opinions partly based on that. That's where it gets silly in my opinion. Also, disagreeing with the EA guy is valid, he said a couple of factually incorrect statements.

Do you think Nintendo will never work with EA again because of some twitter messages?

Come on! If they start talking about deals and millions of dollars then they don't care about something like that anymore.

Lol, I'm not insulted. I just think it's not too accurate to "filter" posts based on anyone's avatar.

Again, there is no "filtering" going on. I simply pointed out a correlation. If you are insulted by that then maybe you might be guilty of the behavior I noticed.

I'm sure there are many, many people on gaf with Nintendo avatars that don't come into threads that are clearly going to have an anti-nintendo bias and spew venom.

Some people have better things to do than defend a multi national, multi million dollar company that answers to shareholders.

Indeed. One developer nobody heard of before today spouts off, and the confirmation bias tsunami delivers the hits.

Exactly. Sure, hearing garbage like this is annoying, but it's pretty much par for the course these days when there are so many vocal people in this industry with no sense of professionalism. If he wants to tell his buddies how much he hates the Wii U, or how Reggie farted in the elevator with him one time, that's fine. But to make a public spectacle out of it is classless and inappropriate for someone in his position.
