EA Sports Engineer: Wii U is crap, < powerful than 360. No $ 3party. [Tweets Deleted]

Today is just a giant circle wank for Nintendo haters.

I look forward to the day that they not only realize that after the first few million Next gen console sales of their favorite company, it will be the same, but probably worse due to price.

Of course by then, the Wii U will likely be even more affordable, and finally have games. Just like the 3DS before it.

Where's the Vita by the way? Oh yeah, still selling like crap after almost 2 years.

Exactly, current marketshare, hence current titles. So with that in mind, looking at current marketshare, third parties have more confidence that the current market that sells will jump across to the next gen and keep buying. When you then add the hardware discrepancy into the equation you have the reason developers are ignoring the WiiU.

Please, I want you to provide a source to this allegation. This is interesting if true.

haha oh man this is the most premature spiking of the football ever

Now I say, now son, I believe if you'll look at the data you'll see that most of the best selling games anywhere are multiplayer. The term "party" bespeaks of any event where someone might play a multiplayer videogame, making the distinction... oh what's the dang word... redundant.

I disagree here. To me, Smash Bros is a multiplayer game. I play Smash competitively, and would not enjoy playing it at a party with a bunch of inexperienced players. Same could be said for NSMB. Nothing like trying to play a serious game with a bunch of people that have never held a controller in their lives and just dragging them through the level.

Edit: Whereas Wii Sports, Resort, Mario Party, etc, are designed for people that lack gaming aptitude. Instant gratification. Biiig difference between multiplayer and party games.

It is always a little disappointing when someone deep into the field voices an opinion which is less their expertise outlook on a focused topic and more a regurgitation of news stories. I have NeoGAF for that.

Nobody posted this here yet? SunhiLegend created another crazy gif. :D

Tell them why you mad son

But on a serious note, what indication do you have to support your claim? And why would you even care?

do you understand physics like at all?

Imagine you took an egg to the roof of an office building and held it over the side. The egg has a great deal of potential energy because of it's distance from the center of gravity.

Now, Imagine you dropped that egg and as it fell it was moving faster and faster. This potential energy is becoming kinetic energy.

Now, imagine that the egg hits the sidewalk, breaks open and splatters it's yolk everywhere. Now you have the Wii U. no movement, no potential.

"Gaming aptitude" is a new one on me. But your distinction isn't really merited. You're judging the players of the game, and not the game itself. Just because a lot of people bought Wii sports who never played a game before doesn't mean the game isn't a multiplayer game and is instead some kind of new word that has the same definition accompanied with a smug sneer.

I agree. This really should be Nintendo's last console. They had a good run.
Oh wow. You have absolutely no clue about anything if you agree with this.

First of all, Nintendo is actually making good long term business in game industry unlike basically everyone else. We are heading into a video game crash and it's not going to be pretty.

Second of all, if 3rd parties say they can't compete with Nintendo games, how could they compete with Nintendo if they went 3rd party?

Third of all, Nintendo wouldn't be Nintendo if they started whoring out their best IPs on other platforms.

So no, just no.

Allegation? Good lord...

Third parties around the world have begun to focus on next gen development and haven't been porting current gen titles across to the WiiU although they would be relatively straight ports. At which point to you acknowledge the writing on the wall?

I have no horse in this race, nor have I said anything remotely close to 'hating' on Nintendo. I have left the hyperbole at the door. As a WiiU owner I am looking forward to great titles, but I don't delude myself into thinking third party developers will start paying them more mind when the new console development cycle is in full swing.

Video games, SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Can some of you not recognize trolling when you see it? Lighten up fellas, it's all opinions. Do you all freak and on people in person if they say something you don't agree with in a sarcastic manner.

The fact that its only comparable sales wise is a two year old failed handheld speaks volumes.

Well yes, but on the other hand reactions like yours only fuel the mocking behaviour.

The 2 sides are equally as bad... well on 2nd taught one is much worse because is not compatible with reality. SO my statements changes to: Fanatics of any brand are equally as bad.

You have 30+ posts in this mess of a thread with people calling you out on ridiculous statements and you are telling people to lighten up? :D

Trolling is prohibited in the forum rules afaik, so expect everyone to be serious unless they are asking for a ban.

If people ever wanted to see an example of a hivemind, they'd do well to see these anti-Nintendo threads on Neogaf.

You ain't kidding brotha'. It's pure comedy gold. I just racked up like a hundred posts arguing with a bunch of these guys about absolutely nothing. Entertainment on a boring Friday at home. This thread couldn't have happened at a better time.

Just because a lot of people bought Wii sports who never played a game before doesn't mean the game isn't a multiplayer game and is instead some kind of new word that has the same definition accompanied with a smug sneer.

With respect, I disagree again here. Sales aren't all about the game, and that's what we're talking about here, sales. Every year, millions and millions of people buy CoD because of the name. Those are PLAYERS buying the game because of their expectations.

Millions of people bought Wii consoles, Wii Sports, and so on after seeing Wii Sports played, having played it themselves, and then went on to buy similar software.

If we are judging the games themselves and saying that the games themselves should be the ones under scrutiny, then as great as my earlier examples, Galaxy, DKCR, etc etc, should have sold WAY WAY more than they did. But there are two different markets here.

You have casuals who helped sell nearly a hundred million Wii units, and bought up all of the casual games, yielding inflated sales numbers vs what the quality of the game itself should have actually been able to pull in...

And then you have the "hardcore" Nintendo gamer that bought the Zeldas and Donkey Kongs and XenoGajiggers. Those games sold RADICALLY less than the casual games.

So yes, I am judging the player. Angry birds is not THAT great of a game, but it's cheap, accessible, and it was popular, which only made everyone else buy it. Then it became a huge thing. The exact same thing happened with the Wii and Wii Sports, Mario Kart, and other Wii Party games. Hell, Wii Play was a ridiculously popular title. It just ALSO happened to come with a controller. Many people saw this as "buy a controller, get a cheap game to play with the fam."

Wii was a child of circumstance.

just today?

I look forward to the day that they not only realize that after the first few million Next gen console sales of their favorite company, it will be the same, but probably worse due to price.

So you want that the other consoles will fail the same way or even worse than the WiiU?
Only because you can say "your console sucks too".

Talking about emotional investment.

Of course by then, the Wii U will likely be even more affordable, and finally have games. Just like the 3DS before it.

well, why not. Though I don't see anything that could beat the PS3 lineup this year.

Where's the Vita by the way? Oh yeah, still selling like crap after almost 2 years.

Sure crap, but sadly on par with the WiiU. That says quite alot how fucked the WiiU is right now.

TBF I honestly see next gen having a slower start than the previous gen, there's a heck of lot of evidence pointing to this, but wii u slow would be a disaster all around.

Oh I've been serious about the things I've said. But the pure nerd rage and keyboard slamming by some has been very amusing. There is a difference between outright trolling and just looking for some fun.

I've been using serious arguments to have some fun, nothing wrong with that.

When you said that, I honestly though was said by a high profile developer or executive, so I asked for a source. But, it's merely an assumption from you.

I doubt third-parties will not support Wii U if Nintendo go after then and ask for support by offering a situation which can potentially increase their sales.

If they do that and, yet, it fails, then it's a different discussion...

Oh please. If you've got nothing better to do than post a load of rubbish and then accuse GAF of being a 'hivemind' for reacting to that rubbish accordingly then maybe you should find something else to do when you're bored. It's not clever.
