Amazon UK is the safest bet for ordering video game hardware. Me and friends of mine have ordered 3ds and Wii from there without a problem.

Even with the free delivery option (if supported) the parcel arrive soonish, i think they send consoles with a courrier on Amazon's expense.

Thanks I ordered one just yesterday from there, they didn't always send game stuff to NZ but recently offer selected things! Amazon ftw.

Slightly odd Amazon problem, apparently they are having difficulties processing my payment. They sent me an e-mail to this effect and I checked open orders (via amazon itself, not any links in the e-mail) and was given the option to re-enter my payment details and was told they would e-mail again if further action is needed).

Anyone else encountered this and any ideas as to the cause? My guess would be card being blocked (but I've not requested this and received no phone calls to notify me of any action). Is there a way to test if it is the bank blocking payment? (I'm wondering if Blockbuster being useless has caused an alarm to be flagged on the card) I guess I can wait and see if the order progresses but I worry this might be recurrent with Amazon.

Happened to me as well, the bank blocked the card since they detected some shady bookings (not related with Amazon) on it.
Other than that, some of the Amazon stuff is currently on strike here in Germany, but I doubt it has to do with it (some of the UK orders seem to be shipped from Germany sometimes).

Yep thats what happened. As I suspected, Blockbuster was to blame. They took a 10p test transaction (a common fraud trick, to verify the card is active and try to be below the radar) then the full amount for the Sudoku game...and Blockbuster kept trying and trying these payment again for some stupid reason (or maybe that was me when it glitched the first time) at which point the card was blocked. Or maybe the card was blocked at the test point...

I don't think I'll be trying Blockbuster again as I suspect it would happen again. Shame as I wanted that game but I'll live (...long enough to find a better deal :P). Hopefully this hasn't messed up the Yoshi Island DS order I was trying to make on Amazon too bad (used genuine copy for a knockout price).

WOWHD.nl have Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) up for preorder for £25ish (€ 29,59). Shipping should be free.

Note that you'll only get this price through their dutch, french, irish or german storefront. Their UK price is £30.39. For Sweden-GAF it's 247 SEK (~24.3 GBP).

For reference: I've ordered 3 times from them myself.
- Professor Layton And The Lost Future (Nintendo DS): went completely fine, took 7 days to arrive
- Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (Nintendo DS): Took 9 days to arrive. I received a copy that was not factory sealed/missing the red Nintendo ribbon. Contacted them, they insisted it was new. I insisted it was not. Sent the game back. They refunded me fully and refunded 6 euros in shipping costs (in form of an in store voucher)
- Gravity Rush (PlayStation Vita): went completely fine, took 4 days to arrive

They ship from Hong Kong.

Hmm, WOWHD has a Swedish website? It looks professional and they do have some great prices on certain products.

I'll try these guys. If they do good, then I'll use them over zavvi/thehut.

Downside is they ship new releases the day they're out so you won't get them on launch day. But yes, their prices seem to be pretty good overall.

Still waiting on my copy of Persona 4 Arena :/

They aren't.
I ordered a few BluRays. All but one were shipped after around 1 month and some took even longer than that. Additionally almost everytime it took at least 2 weeks for them to arrive. I didn't really care, because they also sell Hong Kong BluRays and their price for those is unbeatable.

At last! Borderlands 2 down to a tenner on steam. Sold!

edit: aaand of course steam is wanged when I try to buy it. Take my money, Gabe!

SweGAF

Assassins Creed 3: Washington Edition has had it's price lowered to 400 SEK on CDON. That's not great, but they also have a deal where you can buy two games for 400 SEK, and this game is one of those games. So basically, you can get AC3 + all DLC + another game (for instance Far Cry 3, NFS: Most Wanted or Battlefield 3) for 400 SEK in total. I think that's a pretty good price, so I went ahead and made an order. Also, they have free shipping right now.

I'm curious Keyser, when was the last time you actually bought a game at full price and what was it?

This is the curse of this thread: the Lord of the Cheap Arse thread cannot pay full price without severely damaging his street cred.

It's a blessing for the Keyser Wallet though.

I cannot even justify spending £20 on this game. £20 seems too much. I might just wait for £10.

I think I am broken.

That's kind of where i'm at. A lot of it is to do with the thought of i've waited this long for it to go down in price, i might as well wait a bit longer to save some more money

Friends on BluRay (All Seasons) - 80EUR + postage from amazon.es

Be warned: the episodes are the TV cuts, not the (funnier) and longer cuts on the DVDs. Audio is just a lossy 640kbps DD track (but hey, it's Friends not The Dark Knight) , video is decent but the color correction is pretty nasty. All in all, not the definitive version some of us were waiting for I'm afraid. Still, the best Friends has ever looked, that's for sure.

It seems they released the same BluRays worldwide (amazon-UK doesn't list Japanese for the UK BluRays, but Japanese is definitely on the disc - I wonder why they left it out, amazon-ES seems to leave out German, Japanese and Portuguese audio instead lists Dutch audio and I doubt that they pressed different discs just for Spain, especially because Spanish is definitely included in the normal worldwide discs [*]) - which also include several dubs and my guess is that the dubs do not exist for the extended cuts (and will probably never exist). I guess that's probably the reason. They could have included the longer cuts via seamless branching though.

[*] amazon seems to love this, although I almost always notice it for Fox BluRays. Fox is kinda tricky. They often release English-only blu-rays in UK, but the same BluRays for Spain, France and Germany - still they try to trick people into believing that there are special country specific editions so that people won't import, because even the back of the boxes often just list English + the native language of the specific country only)

My first Flubit order arrived today Kid Icarus (with stand) for £18.86 against the Grainger Games price of £24.99 I asked them to better.

Came from Amazon 3 days ahead of the scheduled date. I would use them again for sure although I know people have been having issues here. Now all I need is a 3DS XL to play it on!

Man, Rhythm Thief has held it's value like crazy here. I had a look around and can get a copy now for £13.74. Is it worth it, or should I wait it out longer?

Zavvi told me that orders were cancelled as 'suppliers were unable to provide it'. Those of you who still have your orders will probably get it, lucky ******** :D I've had to pre-order from GAME instead.
get in

Has anyone experienced very long delivery times with Play-asia before?

I've ordered just into the double figures with them, but never have I had to wait this long before.
I ordered Persona 4 Golden and it shipped a month ago yesterday for £23, and now I still don't have it and they're selling it for £18.73.

It usually takes around 5 to 14 days for Airmail shipments to arrive to your destination. However, under certain circumstances it can take up to 4-5 weeks.

Does that apply?

Probably held up at customs. I got this once myself. I think it took over 8 weeks to arrive and had to pay more than 20 euros import duties and "administrative costs".

I guess it's right between 4 and 5 weeks now, thanks, I'll wait a little longer.

What gets me, is they've emailed me a couple times asking me to review the product.

I hope it isn't, I love using VGP as they mark it as a cheap toy to avoid customs, thought Play-asia did something similar.
