I kind of want to play it because I need to see how they fuck it up.
They are GOING to fuck it up, that much is guaranteed, but I need to see how.
I refuse to pay real dollars for Toriyama directed games though, that sends the wrong message. If only I could pay in joke dollars.

So friggin ridicilous. SE has some stupid ass names like 2905983/+2 Days and Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy but Lightning Returns is the kind that just pisses you off.

I will be so happy when Versus re-revealed. You guys have no idea. I will lose my mind. Maybe a few tears will be shed but I will be so, so happy. Probably a good thing I won't actually be at the press conference. My friends and I are having an "E3 Conference Party" that Monday so they will probably see me lose my mind.

Yeah, over the top neo-vegas stripper clad is absolutely rediciulus and an absolute joke when they try to pull a 'serious' scene/moment. I don't want to see the panties of all my femals characters in a single game...

I don't foresee this being a problem seeing that Versus camera is pulled back pretty far from the character.

I'm right there with you. It's been so long that I can't even imagine what new, substantial information on this game will feel like. I will go absolutely crazy with joy if it's revealed with a new trailer, gameplay footage and english voice acting. I'll go even crazier if a release period is announced. If nothing is shown at all I will probably die inside. I really don't think I can take disappointment again.

If it doesn't show up a lot of fans will die a little on the inside with Lightning delivering the fatal blow.
The design looks good from all sides. Watch the 2008/2009 trailers to see the front of her clothes design.

We doubt the Roen mistake was actually a mistake. It's really hard to make a typo like that. Like, "Oops! My hand slipped and deleted Versus XIII and replaced it with 15." mistake doesn't happen all that often.

Guys Versus is dead. Or rather is more than possible that whatever is shown next time will have little to do with the original.
Meh looking back at the "Versus is dead" thread Kagari said she's heard the game would be shown at TGS last year but that didn't pan out. So just wait and see.
Both of these are highly doubtful. But why do you think it'll have little to do with the original if it gets shown again? There's not much reason to scrap what they have now (regarding world, story, and characters including concepts).

I trust Tetsuya Nomura implicitly. If it changed at all I trust Nomura knows what he is doing with his magnum opus.
Versus isn't dead as Nomura just pointed out not more then two weeks ago that they are still working on it, that he is still director and that the have a concrete date set for revealing more info.

I honestly don't believe anyone is a insider. All the gamefaqs "prophets" are trolls and everyone here like Zeal got a ban. Kagari is reliable but her information on this game has always come down to "plans changed". Opinions/predictions aren't facts.
For some reason this game has been shrouded in a ridiculous amount of secrecy, I think noone but Sony and SE know what's going on with this game.

Even if you ignore Kagari, SE said FF will be at E3. Most likely at the Sony conference. So the possibilities are:
1. LR
2. FFXIV
3. Versus XIII
4. brand new FF game
I know I should be cynical since this is SE we're dealing with, but I doubt the SE guy flew half way across the world to tease ps4 ports of LR and FFXIV. So it's either Versus or a brand new FF. And I don't see who at SE would be making a brand new FF with the company tied up between LR, XIV, and Versus. Possibly even KH3 is in development/preproduction as well, the BBS team has to be doing something this whole time.

yea what was with that exactly? was versus suppose to be there at last year's TGS, and suddenly it got canceled? why?
In the game industry it's not uncommon for things to change constantly. Even Nomura admitted that he wanted to show the game last year but wasn't able to:
Square Enix actually scrapped a good portion of their TGS plans for last year, including a bigger FFXIV presence. As for Versus, that's just what I had heard and then shortly before TGS it was decided against with plans to move it to a different time frame.
Based on E3 2012, it is pretty obvious that next generation consoles were targeted for a reveal around then, but were also pushed back.

This is all extremely believable and logical thinking, but since we're dealing with SE all logic goes out the window and I'm fully expecting the PS4 revel to be a port of XIV because well, it's SE.

Very true. I wonder why it's "delicate". My immediate thoughts were personal politics around the office about the direction of the game. But who knows.
Why? Probably because the game has been revamped so many times since 2006? And if it's moved to PS4 and been renamed, of course there's going to be a big reaction to it. SE has been quiet on the game for 2 1/2 years and people are rightly upset at them for it.
They're not going to just show FF XIV for PS4 and call it a day. What would be the point of SE going to the Sony conference, showcasing the Luminous Engine, and going "please be excited for E3!" for a port of an MMO?
Whatever they're showing off is going to showcase their Luminous tech. That's either a brand new FF or a revamped Versus that got completely taken off the engines they're using and moved to Luminous entirely. Versus uses a custom action RPG engine so if Versus does get moved to Luminous I wonder if Luminous can handle action RPG gameplay just as well.

This. If your doing a surprise party for someone you don't want to spoil the surprise before the person gets there. Same thing here. Square Enix doesn't want to tell surprise too early.
And there are lots of people who work at Square Enix who are on these forums. They would just prefer not to lose their jobs for leaking stuff or saying something they shouldn't have so they tend to be quieter in these forums.
