Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

Yeah, it soured me on the whole thing a little too. I would've felt pretty empowered if I had been able to figure it out, but I had to use a guide, which I rarely do.

It's basically a sim where you have to manage three resources, build your crew, extend your base to these secretive monoliths and research their secrets, all while surviving waves of enemies. It's pretty addicting.

Yeah I really screwed up my layout in my first run, then in my second run I built too much before expanding my crew early on. My second run went way better but I'm already planning out a new one.
 
Cannot be said enough times - Jacob Jones is a steal for £1.59. It does rip off Professor Layton, but it's so charming and likeable in its own way that it doesn't matter. Everyone with a Vita needs to give it a go. Does anyone happen to know when the planned release window for the next episode is?
 
watching the new Guilty Gear Xrd really want me to get Guilty Gear vita port. is it a good port? how's the single player content, since I don't know anyone who play GG and own vita right now.
 
I have a "problem" with jacob jones, i missed some puzzles but i solved them in the menu, but there is the last one that i can't choose. What i'm supposed to do to get it?

finish the game and load your save again. the two missing ones will appear.

It does look interesting

How long is the first episode? And is the episode on its own right worth it (say a new one never came out for some reason)

I think it has about 40 puzzles. Depending on how good you are at solving them (especially if you go for the "solve in so and so many moves" for certain puzzles), it'll take you more than enough time to play through for the cheap price that it costs.
 
Currently playing with my Vita attached to the charging cradle because no battery lol
Really need to get another USB cable for this... do I have to get the official Sony one or do the 3rd party ones work just as good?
 
kinda annoyed by the way my accounts are set up.
all my trophies are on my Asia (used to be my main)... and many of the saves too.
since I play more of my Vita now... everything is now on the US account hmm :/
 
I was really frustrated about not getting to use a single account, but I settled for keeping all my US games/trophies on my US account and all my import/Asia games on my HK account. Very clean!

I hope they allow more options for account/region management soon
especially name change. haha

I used to play all my R1 games on my Asia account too
 
Playing Gravity Rush, cool game. I wonder if some people get nauseous playing this, the camera can get very weird with so many acrobatics going on. And I get so mad when Im flying and suddenly Im stopped by a damn light post.

Yeah, nerdstick was taken by someone who's never earned a single (synced) trophy, completely unused..second name was also taken. Third and final choice was made on the Japanese PSN before I realized I had to go HK to use my DLC.

So now I'm stuck with 'nerdsick', blech. Hopefully if they ever add name changes they wipe unused names so I can get my proper name.

Dunno, I got all four monoliths and did it under 45 minutes in my second run overall. Was only at wave 14 at that point, that'd be too much waiting to get the final objective. I don't see a reason to attempt a third run.

It's a great port, and it has all the single player stuff that was in the console AC+ releases (like arcade, M.O.M, story, survival, mission, etc.).

I would migrate everything to my UK account, trophies, purchases, PS+ content... whatever. Just change the region on my corrosivefrost account to "EU" please? :)

It an excellent port, as good as the PS2 and PS3 versions. There is an arcade mode, story, survivor, training, Team VS and MOM. DAT OLED makes the colors pop more than the PS3 version.

Yeah, I'm very prone to motion sickness but it usually happens with a first person view, if the camera rotates too fast though I can get it even from a third person view. I felt not exceptionally sick with Gravity Rush but I felt like stopping every 30 minutes or so, while I have to do that like every 15 minutes with some FPSs, Doom and Metroid Prime being among the worst offenders in my life.
It usually gets better further in games though, when I learn to move better and my brain is "expecting" every move I make ingame. Or at least that's the explanation for subsiding motion sickness I've been giving myself :/

It's a long grind for platinum if you don't live near enough cities to easily get the stupid 100 stars for the weekly location challenges.
It's fun enough for a copy of Brain Age... but it will be getting dropped from my card once I can get that last trophy.

All I'm wanting is to be able to change my username... Don't use my PSN username anymore and I don't like it quite as much either.

Well, it doesn't help when you have put terrible games like Assassin's Creed Liberation, Little Deviants and Ragnarok Odyssey on there.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Vita a lot, but I understand why people think the game output is slow.

I was trying to focus on having games that aren't ports on there - pretty tired of hearing people go "ok so remove all the games that are ports" :\ I actually really enjoy what I've played of Little Deviants and Ragnarok Odyssey, I haven't completed the main modes of either but I'm about halfway through both. I haven't touched AC: Lib tho.

Yeah, I noticed that, but putting bad games on there doesn't help (AC at least is bad, tbqh)

Also the difference between this picture and the 3DS picture is the 3DS picture is of games coming this year, where as this Vita picture even includes launch software.

I get what you're trying to do, but people have pretty valid complaints about the Vita's software line up. "No gamez" parroters are annoying though, I get that.

Yeah I was trying to pick the best of the best that I could think of, launching this year or not. A key thing was to not include ports, because that's what TONS of the naysayers harp on about. I can always tweak it later if you guys want, remove Little Deviants or w/e :P I just wanted a reference in case something comes up again although having a Vita version of it will probably get both banned soon.
