Prime 3 was awesome! :(

He said also that Metroid Dread may someday hits in the store..

yea there's tons of cryptic evidence lying around pointing to what they are making and it all adds up to Metroid Dread. they might still be working on Mario Kart 8 on the side, who knows. i don't think a major Metroid game should even release this year with the current line-up that Nintendo has going. there is no room for it. GC proved that Metroid wasn't the system seller they thought it was, that game needs a built up audience to prove its worth.

I would hope so. Their last game came out on Wii in 2010 and that was done in like a 12 month time period from what I heard and I know they helped out with Mario Kart 3DS but what have they been really working on since Metroid Prime 3? I wish they could become like 90s Rare where they can pump out 5 AAA games a year

If it really is that rumored Star Fox X Metroid it may seem bizarre but I'm sure Retro will make it fucking awesome to the point where people will be clamoring for more once the game drops.

Well since Metroid Prime 3, they developed DKCR.

But if you're talking about since DKCR, they have probably been working developing tools for the new console and using those to make whatever game they plan to announce at E3.

Not exactly an easy thing to do.

Also, what studio do you know of with less then 100 people that can pump out 5 AAA titles a year on HD consoles? Hell, name a studio that can pump out 2 AAA titles a year.

I hope its another metroid (more like prime 1-3), I feel like if they create a new franchise, nintendo fans wont support them, because nintendo still want familiar names like mario, metroid, zelda.

NAh IM NOT talking about Retro project.........

This belong to sakamoto.

Well I don't know how many people they had but RARE used to do it

What cryptic evidence is there that Retro would be making a supposed Metroid Dread and not, I don't know, some other collaborator like with Other M? Speaking of which, did anyone at Nintendo ever share thoughts on Other M? Any admissions like, "Yeah, the story wasn't well-received, we might try a different approach next time."

It better be there, if X can be shown in Jan, Retros game should be at E3, both Retro Studios and Monolith Soft games came out in 2010.

They damned well better show it!

Of course it won't be this year - they have too much stuff backing up for the fall.

Can't wait!

sakamoto works for SPD. they aren't really a main development team, they work alongside oversea studios to develop games. it could still be a game developed by retro studios and assisted by sakamoto's team

They should at some point do another Metroid if only because the ending of Part 3 ended on kind of a cliffhanger

For those that don't know

At the end Samus flies away from the Chozo planet and a large ship comes out of camouflage and starts flying after her

It would be like if Marvel made Iron Man X Guardians of the Galaxy......oh wait...

The source of that rumor admitted that he made it all up.

No on N64

Killer Instinct Gold - 1996
Blast Corps - 1997
Diddy Kong Racing - 1997
Goldeneye 007 - 1997
Banjo-Kazooie - 1998
Jet Force Gemini - 1999
Donkey Kong 64 - 1999
Banjo Tooie - 2000
Perfect Dark - 2000
Mickey's Speedway USA - 2001
Conker's Bad Fur Day - 2001

Probably about 2-3 games a year no?

Then look at the dramatic decrease in the GC/XBOX era. Then the XBOX360 era. The amount of staff and cost is just too high.

They are absolutely a main development team, it just happens that they have a huge planning and production group as well. Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Tetris DS, Brain Age, English Training, Rhythm Heaven, Kiki Trick, Tomodachi Collection, Band Brothers, etc are all in-house games. Most of Sakamoto's games are internally developed. Tanabe is the guy that produces Retro Studios stuff.

I'm predicting that Nintendo doubles down on Metroid.

Prime 4 for Wii U and Dread for the 3DS.

I mean... one of those has to come out, right??

I wonder if it'll have a first impression like The Wonderful 101, where you're like, "Oh boy, a new Kamiya game, I can't wa-- DA FUCK." And then you watch the demos and you're like Zangief fighting a bear:

Prime 3 was ok, but the first prime was just magical.... anyways Retro FIX THIS SHIT!

Go back to your roots bro! Make Samus human like she was in the first prime, not this anime shit.

just lots of small stuff that adds up. the other: m collaboration didn't work out so well, why try that again? the cryptic hints about metroid dread where he hints that game is being considered at some level. he hints that if it did come out, it was going to be rebuilt from groundup (2D scratched, 3D next?). their recent hires all would work on metroid style art fantastically. when you look at nintendo's current line-up of games, there is a hole in their lineup mix. they haven't funded any games that would conflict with a title like this.

if it turns out to be anything else, i'd be surprised.

is wikipedia accurate in saying they have 60 employees? that seems awful small to be considered a main development team. it looks like a planning subsidiary to me

I really hated the dialogue and voice acting in 3.

It was just awful and hurt the game IMO.
