How many did the Sony one have ?

God I can't stop laughing at this story
The architecture is far more important, as long as the 2 consoles don't stray too far apart in their raw performance games should be looking amazing on either platform.
Do you compare controller rumble packs to rift? Because controller rumble packs increase immersion.

That and not inducing motion sickness in its users. Between that and actually being able to use it with your friends (kind of a big deal) I couldn't see OR ever going mainstream while something like illumiroom could hit mass market mainstream appeal.

1 hour. It's televised so it can't go longer.
1 hour
One hour. But between Gametrailers' post-show and Major Nelson's stream, we should get more details right after the event.
An hour.
Fuck. I'm not going to get any work done today. and definitely not tomorrow.
I'm not sure that you understand what a straw man is. Your comment only works if we accept the premise that Illumiroom is unarguably an improvement to immersion. Then we have to accept that I was attacking immersion and not a very specific product prototype. Also, I'm pretty sure I didn't make the "detracts" argument. My questions specifically had to do with the usability and appeal of the product five years from now.
Is anyone planning to make a spoiler free thread with links to the archived video like was done for the ps meeting? I'll be in an exam while the event is going on, would like to be able to watch it afterwards without already knowing all the announcements.

Well, no. It accomplished the task of creating something for someone who is afraid of both modern controllers and modern gaming. Playing Just Dance isn't exactly double-tapping Y to cancel reload animations after switching mags in Call of Duty. Kinect had a core gaming component to its message -- even if that message was to simply get people to pull the trigger.
You make that sound like a small afterthought. I do a LOT of gaming with friends, am I going to favor;
A - Sitting looking like a twat with a headset on while they sit and look at me looking like a twat with a headset on.
Or
B - Playing Halo Firefight splitscreen with massively enhanced immersion.

It's Reiko. The only true thing that can be substantiated about him is his good taste in big breasted women. But for the rest he can be a total boob sometimes![]()
Wow I did not know it is only one hour. Good news to be honest. Seems like they are getting right to the point unlike sony that had an absurd amount of fluff in their conference.
Technically the 360 stood good, it was a very well designed system. Sony has some very pretty games though. The PS3 wasn't pushing more polygons, higher res textures (where DVD wasn't a limitation) or framebuffers. I think the only apparent emerging difference has been better PP AA, where SPUs were put to good use, and motion blur in some games. So cleaner image quality in a few big games.can i ask a question? u honestly think that the x360 in the last years was standing good compared to ps3?
more we was ahead more the power of the ps3 came out ...at least IMO was like this
i wish ms learn the lesson and made a future proof machine
Kagari will impale someone.
Flashy stars and sparks would be nice. Just extending weather and illumination off the screen would add much to immersion. As long as framerate matches the game. Blurred scenery flashing by, explosions lighting up the room and the like
Why are you guys that don't like Illumiroom even complaining about it, it's a option for science sake...
Gonna be in my undies, box of pizza and having my wife complain that I took a day off for this. Lmao. (I needed a day off=/)
That is the best way to look at it. Hell, even IF they don't drop a bomb on us and say that it's actually more powerful, 1.2 isn't bad anyway.
Nice and all, but that bears no tangible effect on the gaming experience. Otherwise, my soda can and chocolate bar could be regarded as enhancers.
Not so much the visual fidelity angle as in the "are people going to boot this thing up every single time they game five years from now" angle.Regarding Illumiroom not enhancing immersion: Honestly I think we can all agree that this is an immersion enhancing experience. If you disagree I'd love to hear why.
Regarding the prototype and its usability in 5 years. The product itself will be improved and consumerized and id wager to bet it will age gracefully, seeing as it just displays 3d-mapped low red visual data. Its not like we would notice the difference in visual fidelity the same way that we do with games from 5 years into the Gen vs launch games.
get the spec/SDF crap out of this thread...
train coming through

Im not into it and I'm not complaining. Honestly I don't mind it. I can see why people would like it and its existence doesn't affect meWhy are you guys that don't like Illumiroom even complaining about it, it's a option for science sake...
"Alan waked up,John waked up...still someone not waking..."
What other game does a character get told to "wake up"
Conker? Banjo?
I think there's something hidden in that comment.
A bit like Link always getting woke up.
Gemüsepizza;58219522 said:Personally I find this "Sony Defense Force"/"SDF" crap a lot more annoying, to be honest.
If a bigger screen and higher resolution and 7.1 sound has a tangible effect, so does this. You see more. It covers more of your FOV with its low resolution projection.Nice and all, but that bears no tangible effect on the gaming experience. Otherwise, my soda can and chocolate bar could be rearded as enhancers.
Halo has Master Chief, aka John, who wakes up in the beginning of Halo 1 and Halo 4, but that's all I can think of.
I would laugh so hard if we hear "wake up", and then Master Chief gets out of cryo sleep for the third time for Halo 5.
Maximum trolling.
